Guess you were just talking shit back in Year One, huh?
Why did I work my ass off for my Elder Ciphers again? Or for the Mythoclast I did the VoG every week for and never got until House of Wolves? Or even for the Necrochasm, you know, grinding the absolute hell out of the Husk of the Pit and the Eidolon Ally and then praying to RNGesus for the Crux of Crota. Hey, anyone remember how hard it was to get Pocket Infinity, and the grind you had to do for Nightfalls? All that work just to see those weapons collect dust in my vault?
That brings up another point. Why were some weapons buffed and others nerfed... only for them NEVER to come to year two? What was the point of that? Examples: Thorn, and Gjallarhorn. Thorn was given a "net buff"... and there is no Year Two version. Gjallarhorn was nerfed... and there is no Year Two version. Why bother nerfing these weapons when there is no Year Two version?

Edit: Some of you bring up points about nothing lasting forever. And while that may be true... why would Bungie lie to us? Why DID they lie to us?
Edit 2: Darean028 found the exact quote. Bungie Weekly Update 12/04/2014:
"In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."
Edit 3: For those saying I can use Year One gear in Crucible, have you seen my Crucible K/D? It's absolute shite. I'm a PvE kind of guy.
To quote cpt PRIKPANTS
If Bungie was so worried about everyone using the same weapon load out then why didn't they simply make the new weapons stronger, nicer and more appealing? Also, where are the primaries with burns? They make one and it's by default! Then people wouldn't be hung up on the vision, the fang, the thorn, the ghally, the ice breaker and so on if they had better options!!
Either way, the old weapons and gear should have stayed in the game as an option to use considering how much time was vested in getting them!!
5 AntwortenIt's stuff like this that has caused Deej, Cozmo, and any other Bungie employee to keep their mouths shut about the game. They just don't know what they can say with certainty anymore. Think about it, we already had Matt tell us that there was no changes to matchmaking, and then that turned out to be completely untrue, which he said was because he "wasn't informed" about it. It was probably the same thing here. Deej personally assumed after HoW that the leveling system would always allow previous weapons and gear to be brought up to the current max level. In fact, I'm willing to bet that the infusion system altogether was a last-minute decision that Deej couldn't have anticipated. Etheric light was probably originally planned to be brought over into TTK, but after seeing how fast people ranked up and got bored, they wanted to extend the time it took to get to max level. Then they thought that if they brought over the year 1 gear, then everyone would already have endgame content, making the raid, trials, and IB almost useless. In short, I don't think Deej is to blame. He made an assumption about something he thought wouldn't change, but then it did. Now he won't say anything about the future of this game because he's worried that the same thing will happen again.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Goruden Wulf: 2/11/2016 2:53:23 PMFirstly, that quote was done prior to TDB. Then on HoW they kept original guns relevent with Etheric Light. They never once quoted the same would be done for TTK. I'm not saying I agree that they did or didn't bring over a method of keeping our year 1 guns current (apart from PvP), but I never assumed they would for TTK. Secondly, Thorn was primarily nerfed due to PvP. Year 1 guns can still be used in Crucible (apart from IB) without taking a hit on damage output, so without the nerf, many people would still be complaining about Thorn.

Bearbeitet von Cromica: 2/11/2016 3:00:34 PMIt's been obvious for a long time that Bungie is full of shit and have no idea what they are doing. The only thing Bungie ever did right with this game was the gunplay... but now they have even managed to -blam!- that up.
-
Either the communication they have in the workplace is nonexistent or they literally just talk out of their arses and don't know what's next. We as a gaming community do act entitled sometimes but we can't act as if bungie has not been shady and unprofessional about some stuff. They're supposed to be this professional million billion whatever dollar company i'm just some guy who smashes pizza rolls and pounds mountain dew on the daily.

Bearbeitet von MindfulPizza: 2/11/2016 12:26:57 PMsee this were it would have been good to have a way merged those gear and weapons to something stronger , but nothing last for ever. yet they could did something on the harder pieces, to merged it to new pieces, not destroy it but keep it the same with better stats . were they time and date stamp the original version. to merged it . before the new gear . if get it after it can not merged it . it just show or costume.

Meh. The problem with Bungie making statements like that and then changing their view point after the fact is they are arrogant -blam!-ing pricks. They don't think they are wrong about anything so when they do change something, they do it without acknowledging that they said anything the contrary afterwards.
-
That's a large part of the reason I barely play anymore, it's an ever changing playing field off nerfs, buffs and redundant weapons and gear. Play how you like = play how we tell you. Better games out there to play.

1 AntwortenI would like to see all the legendary and exotic year one items come back. (Other than Thorn, that thing has a special place in hell....)
-
Reasons like the ones you mention is why i will never get ttk or any other dlc crap from bumgie. I grinded hard and ttk comes out and all gear is worth shit. I ran about 90 strikes to get hop scotch pilgrim and they change it to a 55 allfate. I swear that shit still makes me mad. Strikes are boring as hell for me ao imagine.
-
You know, it's not only the fact that we worked hard for all of it. But as well that you might have found your absolute favourite weapon. And for whatever reason I will never understand, they just don't allow you to use it anymore... Yes there are new weapons, but no there aren't really replacing the old ones! I want to run NF with my Lord high fixer, why not!? At least give us some 'dedication' quest where we can work on perticular guns to get them up to date...!?

18 AntwortenThey did what they did, and if they do make year 1 stuff viable again after saying they wouldn't I'll be extremely upset having dismantled all of it. Like borderline furious

Mates, stop trying to get in your ex's pants. She's gone and you aren't getting her back. Go find a new girl.... Best way to get over someone
is to get under someone ;)
2 AntwortenWhile im not defending bungie with this comment I'll say this,,, i really hope you don't go play the division if you feel this way about destiny..
-
2 AntwortenWell most of the things in year one were blatantly op, so...
-
Bungie logic be like: Yeah, we're listening...Oh wait, you didn't want us to throw away 2 /3 of the game? Shit.
-
You reading this bungie?

MEGA BUMMMMMMMPPPPPPP!!!!! See this Bungie! Notice this Senpai!

A lot of people immediately just resort to the old "it's an mmo, get over it" excuse. From my perspective, Destiny incorporates a lot of the bad aspects of mmos, but even worse, and doesn't incorporate enough of the good aspects of mmos. Bungie themselves claimed that Destiny was not an mmo, but what they call "a Shared World Shooter." I guess for some, Shard World Shooter instantly translates to mmo...
