I'm going to go out in a limb here but after rewatching main story I'm starting to think the stranger is the traveler made manifest, to help guide us against the darkness.
What do you guys think? What's her story?

Bungie doesn't got time to explain why they don't have time to explain, about the Stranger not having time to explain.

6 AntwortenThe stranger is year 1. Year 1 is irrelevant and basically never happened.

Good theory. I'm in the same boat, i just played the game all the way through so i have no idea what it was about, none of it(the story) was in the actual game. Maybe it's in those fn grimoire cards? I bet she was a main character in the completed story for destiny originally, the one that got rewritten. Just a guess.

3 AntwortenThe stranger could be affiliated with Osiris. Only reason I think that is because of her ability to teleport like vex and her knowledge of them in general. We can assume the osiris cult members are not born of light, like brother vance. The Stranger isnt a guardian so she might be part of his cult. If I remember from the grimoire, I think Osiris was the first speaker (or leader) and had a faling out with the current speaker. Osiris was banished for his beliefs and several followed him. I think the disagreement stemmed from the overall beliefs about the traveler (why it exists, what to do with it, etc.) and the guardian inititiative--using dead bodies as war zombies to facilitate more death. If they do circle back on year 1 and loop a story in, it might be with the Shattered Suns DLC, which will explore the vex, osiris and will continue with the origins of the darkness and open things up about the truth of the traveler. Mercury could host a new new reef-like tower. Would set things up nicely for a Destiny 2 story.

1 AntwortenI've always thought that as well. Just by watching the last cut scene after the black garden.

Lauren Cohan

I think she the Queen but from a doom timeline almost the same as the one we are in now guiding us to make our timeline better then hers

My mommy told me not to talk to strangers. And then Bungie makes a whole story about doing exactly what a stranger tells you to do without question. Way to go bungo, teaching kids to follow strangers blindly.

She was I believe one of the brays. A scientist from the golden age who worked on exo sub systemic consciousness, such as the deep stone crypt. She at one point experimented on cayde, and he became an exo. After that; I only assume the collapse began and she attempted to flee. She made it to Venus and put herself in stasis as an exo. She (now the stranger) reawoke. Displaced from time mentally. And due to vex exposure, soon physically. She lived in a timeline in which the vex succeeded in transcending reality. Where they became the laws of the universe. So she went back... Or to another timeline/reality (grimiore doesn't really specify if the universe is on multiple dimension theory, aka: Schrödinger's cat) to warn us and impede them before it's too late At least that's how I interpret it

She's from the future
-
Who is she? The one chick from TWD duh
-
Vanguard policy is she is a hallucination caused by exposure to vex technology. They could tell you other stories about guardian encounters with her, but they won't :D
-
It's Glens wife, Maggie. She survived the zombie apocalypse by becoming a machine.

Read the grimore

4 AntwortenNo no no, that's was almost part of a story that Bungie have ignored/removed/forgotten so just carry on shooting stuff in the face with your worthless yr2 weapons... The stranger and the traveller could of been made into something worthwhile in TTK but we just got Nathan Fillion cracking jokes...

When doing the mission for No Time to Explain you pick up the "Bracelet of Ana Bray". Only my opinion, but I believe this was the previous incarnation of The Stranger, i.e. the daughter of Clovis Bray.
