Having to watch Twitch TV for hours at a chance at a raffle?
I'm a decent player. I don't need the carry, but I'm not good enough to do so. There are SO many people that want to see the Lighthouse, I just figured there would be a lot more willing to help.
90% of you that Twitch stream and use Trials at a chance for viewers, will not make money from it. Honestly.
Either stop begging people to watch you, or stop offering to help carry. It's pretty annoying.
Edit: I'm not referring to myself wanting the carry. I can pull my own weight just fine. I'm talking about those who can't. Who don't have time to watch a stream JUST for a chance at a carry.
Also, I'm not hating on Twitch in general. I enjoy watching gamers stream just to learn from them. It's cool if you want to stream, just don't get people begging for viewers by carrying them to the Lighthouse.

4 AntwortenPeople just do it so it makes them look better. When a good player or two carry a noob it drops the overall Elo score so they're matched with easier competition

There is a thread of ToO "sherpas" that don't ask for money and I don't do that raffle twitch thing. You just have to PM in advance to schedule a good time.

Bearbeitet von super than0713: 3/1/2016 1:55:05 AMI do it because it's the easiest way to get people together. Doing carries/account recoveries from streams is the easiest way. And as a disclaimer...I DONT GIVE PEOPLE WHO TIP SPECIAL TREATMENT. I've had people tip me before strictly because they just liked me. On my page itself I tell people that tips are only that. Tips. Not for carries or anything else. The best part of having people come to your stream is. A) propagates everyone that wants to a carry on one place together so that we can maintain contact B) let's them see how we're going to play, and learn a few things C) it's fun and I've met a few good friends from doing it D) I'm not looking to make money off it. I have a career and a 2nd part time job. It's just fun to do and some people enjoy it. E) I enjoy making friends and I enjoy the company and having laughs with a bunch of people. Please don't bash the people that are sincerely just trying to help. I understand there ARE some streamers out there who will charge and make you tip them and all that. But there are others out there who just run a random raffle for their followers. I hope I've cleared some of that up for you.

this is my first week of streaming. Hit 500 followers. Thanks tho

4 AntwortenI stream trials carries and just carry whoever is in my chat. I can understand if someone donates, they get priority over others, but having to watch the stream for a certain amount of time to enter the raffle is unnecessary.

2 AntwortenThis part confuses me
I'm a decent player. I don't need the carry, but I'm not good enough to do so.
So are you good enough to make it to the Lighthouse with your own skill, or do you need to be carried?

15 AntwortenWhy would anyone do it without asking for something in return? You scrubs that get carried to the lighthouse may think its not that hard because you don't do shit or are dead for the whole Game but fail to realize you're being carried and someone is doing double the work because you're not capable of being good at a video game. Its frustrating carrying a worthless teammate and losing games because its basically a 2v3.
when I said "you" I don't mean op I mean the people to whom it may concern.
7 AntwortenBearbeitet von Powerfvl: 2/25/2016 12:18:33 PMI'm down to carry, just give me 10 bucks and your account. I'll carry all three of your characters before the weekend ends. Guaranteed. Not the best player, I held a 1.9 in trials but it dropped cause I had problems adapting to the pulse meta. No need to get on stream and next time you sign in you'll have all adept weapons on each character. And yes I'm doing it for money, lost my job a month ago so I'm struggling and worried about paying for school next semester since financial aid doesn't help me much, it comes out of my pocket.

5 AntwortenMe and my friend try to take a bunch of people who haven't been on the weekend, don't bother streaming it or anything but I wouldn't say it's a carry either we're all a team

Probably if you found someone with a low amount of viewers your chances would be higher, but I'll list one guy I know who's pretty awesome for carries Probly_ovr_9000

3 AntwortenThe people who do raffles do so because there are many people asking for it on their stream and it's the only fair way to pick. That or they make a list and you sign up as #7432.

1 AntwortenI honestly don't see what harm there is in asking for people to watch your stream and help bring them to the lighthouse for it. It is ultimately the person's choice if they want to watch the stream or participate in a raffle. It is also probably that gamer's dream to become partnered with twitch. You already stated that you don't need to be carried. So why even bother with what others are doing?
-
Would you rather have them charge you money?
-
The ones your complaining about aren't trying to make money off of them. They are trying to get views. Enough follows and views will get you partnered which in turn will allow you to make money off the ads they run before the stream comes up.
-
Or they could be carrying to be a good person and the viewers just so happen to come...
