Do you honestly think I can tell my router to go faster? Perhaps start my own internet service that's fiber inducing? Or go talk to the big companies and ask very nicely if they could help in my plight? Unfortunately there are many of us gamers who aren't as privileged compared to those with optimal connections and there is little to no chance we can really do anything about it and now you're threatening us?!
As a person who has "lesser" internet I can honestly say that whenever I've had a red bar, or even green a green bar, I've never felt like I had the advantage; in fact, the clear opposite happens to me. I get shot through corners, witnessed teleporting sparrows during SRL, you get the picture - it's frustrating! I understand that something needs to be done to those who purposely tamper with their connections, but to punish those who are trying to play legit is wrong; you're literally pulling an Ebenezer and it's so baffling. If you're that inclined to only want people who have privileged internet then you should have only sold the game to those people because apparently my money isn't good enough for you.
Believe me when I say I would LOVE to have the most up to date internet, but with the way service provider companies currently are, it will never happen because they're not going to go out of their way to help little me who wants to play games online or whatever. So, if you want your paying customers to be able to play your game without connection headaches then you need not to tell us about how bad our internet is, but to the companies who are holding your people back.
EDIT: "Poor" internet means not that great internet service - not money!

I pay for and have good internet. However, I would always notice that certain games would be green, and others I would be red. None of my other games/systems have trouble connecting. This isn't an issue with our internet. It's Bungie putting the blame on us when in reality it's their crappy matchmaking and potato servers.

No one should suffer because someone else has an inferior setup. If you can't somehow manage at least 3/1 at under 50ms to your local exchange then you should not be playing pvp. Sorry.

So basically you want people who pay good money for their connections to suffer with you just because you're too lazy to either contact your employer or purchase from a new one? I don't feel bad for you. If you were that guy at the top of the leaderboard teleporting around everywhere, shotgunning everyone- I don't feel bad for you. More fun for me and less for the red-bars.

1 AntwortenIt sucks for people who have crappy Internet, but you have to realize you purchased and online game to play online. If you don't have a good online conenction, that's going to degrade the game for everyone. You say that when you have lag it's worse for you than it is for us. And that may be true. But it is still crappy for us, as you do win some of those 1 on 1 battles where all we see is you warping around and not taking damage. Of you have a bad connection, you should pretty much lose any 1 on 1 battle where you don't sneak up on someone. This is just making it so that your bad connection is never an advantage to you, and only ever a disadvantage. And that is justified. It sucks if you cant get a better Internet connection because of where you live, but that's just life.

Saying things like "if you dont have good internet dont play at all and save us the trouble." Like really? Im surprised no one grew a brain and just suggested pvp go back to the way it was during Y1 destiny. Cause back then this wasnt even an issue.

Sorry, but you ruin it for others, so how is this fair? Kind of like golf (which I hate by the way), where you have to pay to play. And a lot on the nice greens apparently. Life sucks, but I missed a crapload of stuff when I was poor such as internet, concerts, cable. I suggest you play something else where your connection does not matter. Or just play PVE and stay out of PVP.

I used to have terrible internet. It wasn't like I had a choice in the matter...it was where I lived. I'm sure many people experience this...and not a one of them would want it to give them an unfair advantage, amirite?

Explain how 11/12 people in a lobby with you should suffer because one person (you) has a red bar connection. How is that fair?

They made a judgement call that the majority of always online games should be played with a half decent connection. It sucks go say but if there's a problem for you there, you should be limited to offline games.

Nothing is worse than being in trials with someone on the other team in the Bermuda Triangle with shitty internet. You can't be mad if you want to do nascar and only have a Ford Focus chief.

They should tell us the requirements. Until now it was 1 down/1 up, but if it will become 10/5 many people will quit. In my country only 3 cities have optic fiber, and without it the maximum upload is 512 kbps ( which I have )
