Can someone explain to me why the Defender class is the weakest in the game?
Title pretty much.
I play the Defender class as my main, and I have noticed that it is considerably weaker than every single class and every single subclass. I prefer playing the tank in game, where I can soak up damage, but looking back at the previous patches, it seems that Defenders seem to get collateral damage every single time, and now they are essentially the weakest link in the game (which is quite ironic).
I understand why people thought the Sunbreakers were broken and the subsequent nerf as a result in the recent patches. However, I don't understand why Defenders were also thrown under the bus when in the previous patch they were also thrown under the bus, and the patch before that as well. Are Defenders so broken that they must be nerfed at every major patch?

If it makes you feel better I activated my blade dancer and got kill by last word in the distance as I activated it. It has no shield or armor. Pretty depressing

Do you own a saint 14 helm? It changes EVERYTHING when playing as a defender Titan.

It's because all other subclasses can be used in pvp for their power and also be used in pve (Maybe except for gun slinger) And most people like to use an offensive super for pvp and the bubble is just harder to use

They are an advanced subclass. Their strength is not for everyone.

The defender class can be good for certain things like PvE and sometimes PvP if you place it just right and you might want to have blessing of light and helm of saint on to have more armor and to blind the other guardians and then shoot them with a shotgun or fusion rifle hope this helped if you need more help add me on PS3. -ewoodkilla

I believe a great titan defender can mold the direction of the game. They are the deciding factor of which team wins Then again.. that can be applied to every class. [spoiler]Titans are super cool. Warlocks are super cool. Hunters are super cool[/spoiler]

It's the best PvE super in the game, by far. That could be why it sucks in PvP.

It's not that it's the weakest. Defender titan have a very very specific role, in pve they are best of the best. In pvp, it takes a very fun skill and game skilled player to truly shit on someone. Your super is that to provide tactical advantages, not kills. Defender also has the largest learning curve, as its skills as well take a very particular player to truly exploit. Look at it this way, people use thorn and last word because it does the most amount of work with minimal effort. Defender is the opposite of that philosophy. I've played against only two to three nasty, and I mean nasty defender titans. Golden gun? Suppressed Radiance? Suppressed Nova bomb? Perfectly timed bubble to negate the blast. Again, very very particular players can bring out the best in that class. Most people just don't have the patience for it. So they go for the easier methods.
