Can someone explain to me why the Defender class is the weakest in the game?
Title pretty much.
I play the Defender class as my main, and I have noticed that it is considerably weaker than every single class and every single subclass. I prefer playing the tank in game, where I can soak up damage, but looking back at the previous patches, it seems that Defenders seem to get collateral damage every single time, and now they are essentially the weakest link in the game (which is quite ironic).
I understand why people thought the Sunbreakers were broken and the subsequent nerf as a result in the recent patches. However, I don't understand why Defenders were also thrown under the bus when in the previous patch they were also thrown under the bus, and the patch before that as well. Are Defenders so broken that they must be nerfed at every major patch?

Good grenades and good melee that gives a shield with a kill (and the perks for that shield are good as well). If you are a shotgun lover, then you will stop saying defender is weak when you wear backup plans. It is a great subclass. Bubble doesn't have much use in PvP compared to PvE, but it can still be useful. Defender is good. Boring? Yeah, sometimes, but certainly not weak.

All you need is a good shot gun and NO BACK UP PLANS. And feel the power of a GOD. also a good shot gun like invective would do wonders. :)

Almost every raid group that does oryx challenge requires 2 defenders. You were saying?

HAHAHAHAHA LOL OMG Defender can be godly if you know how to use it. Do you snipe or shotgun? If you fusion, I'm afraid defender is useless to you.

I disagree. I main a titan play as striker mostly but when the time calls for it I use saint-14. Imo unless you have saint-14 there really isn't a point in using defender because if you don't have the helm you almost certainly have to use armor of light. Now I'm speaking about playing strikes and stuff I realize the raids are different. I do quite well as a defender but I like being a striker better.

Because Defenders are primarily a ****support*** class, and was designed with high-level PVE in mind. Striker Titans are the "tanks" of the Titan class.

4 AntwortenI think the problem is that players do not know how to make the best offensive use of the Defender's capabilities. Defenders need to be smart about their perks so that they are always helping other players generate offense and they also have to be wise about Ward placement. I have seen some brilliant Defenders in the IB putting their bubbles up directly over the Spark spawn point or use Suppression grenades on approaching runners. Defenders who understand the sub-class and play unselfishly will excel.

No backup plans shotty and armour of light and your laughing constant overshield I've seen people ruin with defenders I think it's pretty cool not a titan fan myself but I'm trying haha

6 AntwortenBad troll, bad. First defenders do not get thrown under the bus every patch. In fact the last major patch they got a minor buff. Second if you like to play tanks you would know there are no tanks in Destiny. There are 7 DD classes and 2 support classes. They have no choices for aggro control or healing. If you like playing a tank this is not a good game for that playstyle.

Because they have a super then gets no kills what so ever and basically has a giant target on it saying slam or nova here. Defender is very good, it just requires a certain play style. I really think there should be an exotic that grants armor of light.

And it is no different in pvp. It must be used to aid the team not to get a lot of kills. That is why u score points when your team members get kills while buffed by your ward of dawn

If it makes you feel better I activated my blade dancer and got kill by last word in the distance as I activated it. It has no shield or armor. Pretty depressing
