Can someone explain to me why the Defender class is the weakest in the game?
Title pretty much.
I play the Defender class as my main, and I have noticed that it is considerably weaker than every single class and every single subclass. I prefer playing the tank in game, where I can soak up damage, but looking back at the previous patches, it seems that Defenders seem to get collateral damage every single time, and now they are essentially the weakest link in the game (which is quite ironic).
I understand why people thought the Sunbreakers were broken and the subsequent nerf as a result in the recent patches. However, I don't understand why Defenders were also thrown under the bus when in the previous patch they were also thrown under the bus, and the patch before that as well. Are Defenders so broken that they must be nerfed at every major patch?

5 AntwortenIn my opinion I don't believe that they are the weakest the Defender subclass is just that a "defensive" one. It would be funny to have an "Offender" bubble where you can roll around in it! :)

Defender has been and will always be the best PVE class in the game

I've been running st 14 in IB, granted I'm kind of shit at PvP, but rift seems like the one game type where people will run into your bubble

Because your using it wrong...if your an offensive player its prob not for you... Me, I a real estate agent, find some land, put up a bubble and rent it out to my teammates, when the big bad wolf comes to blow my house down... I hit em with oppression grenade... You see my bubble you better wait around the corner, or wave of off...

Support class with suppression grenades? Armamentarium? It's not weak by any stretch. It's about about gun control.

Its not weak, armor of light and a shotgun easily shut down every other super and even swords

You probably don't know how to use it then. When I play titan defender is pretty much all I play. Here's some builds that I use to great effectiveness: Try using No Backup Plans with Armor of Light and War Machine. Works extremely well with invective. (Plan bubble accordingly when players don't seem to have supers) Use Helm of Saint-14 with Weapons of Light and a sniper with decently high impact. You can one shot body shot people with sniper. Kinda cheap, but turns your bubble into an offensive super. Also try using the First Curse for it will two shot people with the weapons of light every time. (Place bubble at a distance. Do not place on capture points this bubble is solely meant slight damage protection and damage output.) Lastly I think Blessing of light is the best for team play. If you're really wanting to be supportive you can place this bubble where you like, but do not camp inside bubble for you are not much of a tank with blessings. Stay mobile and close to teammates with this super. Lastly I use Suppressor grenades for all builds. Learn to bounce them accordingly to prevent super usages and you'll have a wonderful time in your bubble. Hope this helps!

Depends whether you mean pve or pvp. In pve defender is probably the most useful sub, in pvp not so good.

Just need to know your role as a defender becaues defenders are always needed and even tho they get nerfed offten they still can hold there own

Haha. We versed a defender titan in trials today. He was the last standing. He had armour of light on and sat in his bubble as the last guardian. So we rushed him and melee'd him to death. He couldn't do anything about it
