TOP EDIT START
A LOT of people here seem to be missing the point of this, and think it's boycotting this event just for the sake of it. Please believe that it's not the case. The point of this boycott is show Bungie that we as the players, and the people who support this game are dead serious. To tell them that we're tired of the bold faced lies, and misdirected speech. Boycotting a week long event with 'new' content is just the best way I can think of to accomplish that. So what exactly am I talking about when I say bold faced lies?
Things like:
"We haven't changed the way matchmaking works"
"4% buff"
and my personal favourite
"We're listening"
That list could go on and on, but that's not why I'm here. The main goal of this boycott is to try and get Bungie to be more open and honest about their actions, and the direction they're taking this game. Why do we need to officially find out 3 months later that they did something to completely break PVP? How difficult would it have been to have a message populate in game on login that said "Hey! We're going to be making some changes to the way matchmaking works, in hopes of making crucible a better experience for everyone. Please bear with us while we work out the kinks!"
Or how about Polling the community on upcoming changes? Get everyone's feedback before making any major decisions, and risk upsetting a large part of the community. A perfect example of this, is them changing Iron Banner to rift. Which as far as I can tell makes more people angry than it does happy (Read: Indifferent is not the same as happy).
I for one would much rather see this type of open, honest dialogue; rather than the mess of lies and shadows that we're currently dealing with.
TOP EDIT OVER
You read right,
I've seen a lot of other posts on here with people like me, who are tired of the poor decisions Bungie is making with the game we all love. But they don't know where to go, where like minded people can gather to vent their frustrations and agree to show Bungie that enough is enough.
Well everyone, that place is here!
They've told us time and time again that Destiny is supposedly a community driven game, that our opinions would be heard, and help shape the future of this game. Whereas their actions dictate that they only care about your money.
What I propose is that nobody play at all - don't even log in - for the entire duration of the Crimson Days event. If we can get enough like minded people to do this, Bungie will take notice.
My best guess right now is that this event will be running from the weekly reset starting on the 9th of February, but as soon as Bungie releases the official dates I'll update this post.
If you plan on taking part leave a bump on this post, and more importantly, a like as well. That will help me do a quick comparison of people who are here for the cause vs people who are here to tell us we're dumb for even trying.
PS: If you're involved in social media; If you do the Twitbook or the Instavines, or if you spend time watching the Twitchtube, take the time to give a shoutout to the cause; Leave a comment on a youtube video, make a tweet about it, hell, flood Triplewreck's twitch stream with #ListenupBungie if you have to. Whatever it takes, I know we can do this.
Thanks Guardians. Stay strong!
EDIT: Deej has been visiting the forums as of late. I'm really glad to see that all the discussion has peaked Bungie's interest. I'm saddened however that it takes that much hate to actually bring Deej out of hiding. I think I've seen him make more meaningful posts in the past 24 hours, than the entirety of this last year combined. Although, don't take this as hate; this type of interaction is a step in the right direction! I hope to see more from you Deej.
EDIT2: Changed the title of the post to better avoid confusion. Original post tile was "Official Crimson Days Boycott" but I think people were just looking at the title and thinking what they wanted without reading the rest of the post.

I wonder if anyone who said they were going to boycott this week kept their word. -__-. I know I have ^__^

3 AntwortenBoycott is when you refuse to buy a company's product or services. You already bought the game. Kinda hard to boycott after the fact. I think the word you're looking for is Protest. Protest is what people do when they want to express their disapproval with an issue.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Arron Rift: 1/23/2016 7:07:31 PMI will probably boycott even if not asked. Not because I'm pissed, because I just don't care anymore. These forums are more fun than the game now lol.

3 AntwortenI'm in. Just to help out, I started almost a month ago.

I guess my boycott (aka leave) has been officially extended. Cool beans.
-
8 AntwortenClassic.. Boycott things before we even get to try it. TEST IT FIRST, then boycott if it's a huge flop. I rather have this than nothing. You people really need to learn how to appreciate things.
-
2 AntwortenI'm sorry, but we'd need the whole community to do this to get any affect at all.
-
I still love destiny cant find myself to pick it up again though :(
-
4 AntwortenI'm in on the boycott. BTW, you don't "peak" someone's interest, you "pique" their interest.

Nah,it's just a game . I play to enjoy . If they release content I don't like , I don't play it and will play another game . If they want to work on destiny 2 and make it better than we currently have , so be it , even if that means we get limited content in the meantime . That's why other games can be played in between.
-
Nope nope nope. If I happen to log on during that week which I may or may not do and like the game mode I'll play the shit out of it. Call me selfish but with Destiny being the way it is it's actually a good thing for me. I played way too much considering the small amount of free time I had, and a lot of my non-free time was spent thinking about how much fun it was going to be playing destiny later. I go tree weeks without picking up the controller now and I love it. I play whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like it. Besides, how many people are on this forum, willing to boycott what few scraps Bungie throws their way, can there be? A couple of hundred? We've all invested a lot of money on this game since September 2014. The majority of the player base are casuals who don't even have Bungie.net account, and then Gothalion and co will be playing the shit out of every event Bungie puts out which will generate more players who might not have done that event than boycotters. Still, I respect your love for the game and your heartfelt attempt to make it better through the only means you have.
-
2 AntwortenThis is sad, it's a free event, why are you so upset over this? You aren't paying for anything, and it's not like you aren't allowed to play other games, go do something else if you're mad with destiny. More toxicity on these stupid forums is the last thing we need, so why not just accelerate this "boycott" just please leave now? If every player just wants to whine, I don't want to hear it, so just leave. I love the game, it's obvious you don't, go do something else.

I've been boycotting since November. The change to micro transactions and limited time events was the bail in the coffin for me. I pumped 1000 hours in raising, collecting, and PvPing not buying makes, Valentine's Day emotes and racing sparrows.
-
1 AntwortenHope it works. I'm in. Screw you bungie.
-
3 AntwortenI'm pretty sure Bungie didn't organise a boycott of their own event. So that means it's not official.
-
1 AntwortenI wish you luck o only hop on for trials now unfortunately only around 5-10% of destinys player base checks the forums
-
1 AntwortenI dont care...I will be playing while you guys boycott. lol...I am neither against or for bungie...I really dont give damn what updates came out...what updates are coming out. I will play this game until I am bored with it...or find a different game that has Multiplayer, First Person shooter, plus Co-Op mode... when that happen..bye bye Destiny.
-
1 AntwortenI've been boycotting since November and don't plan on coming back lol
