How is this gun even perceived as remotely fair? Can you seriously just neutralize it? The clouding of the screen, the burn that not only damages for a silly time span, but also delays regen for the same duration. The range and damage are -blam!-ing ridiculous. Bungie, this gun honestly ruins any PvP match its utilized in. I just can't get over how overpowered this gun still is. STILL IS.
Mark it down as another Bungie flop.

lol nerfing one gun will only make another gun op...then you will have people complaining to nerf that gun. The answer isn't to nerf the gun but to avoid the player that uses it or get better.

The problem with Thorn isn't it's damage, but the original design intent that the devs wanted with the gun. They wanted a weapon that would dominate mid range battles by forcing enemies into untenable situations by removing the ability to regenerate shields. And after some balancing they succeeded. I used Thorn for the longest time before Year 2. I still love the weapon but I'm mostly a PvE guy so its just not viable anymore for the content I really want to do. I personally don't think that causing you to regenerate shield during the burn is fair. It's not at all keeping with the design of the weapon. When it comes down to it, Thorn will always be a powerful weapon in regular PvP. I think a fair way of dealing with Thorn might be to replace Send It with something else, like Speed Reload, so it won't have the range it does now. I would use perfect balance anyways since I'm lazy and want an easy time aiming. It's more suited to closer battles anyways.

I agree, instead of damage over time it should just be the inability to regen. You would have to buff stability though.

Haha. Yeah, it's been a bitches gun since it came out. I remember when I got it hardly anyone used it, then it became too mainstream so I vaulted it. Sadly even in y2 it's still a bitches gun along with TLW. Both those guns are used by nothing but chumps.
