No one uses hand cannons anymore?
I think Bungie nerfed them into the ground. Without their range, they can't compete with scouts and pulses. I still see the Last Word around, but it will always be the fastest-kill hand cannon.
Agreed? Sad to see their legacy end. Maybe, one update, they'll be back in all of their glory.
Edit 1: yes yes the last word is still the most-used gun ever. Even after nerfing, that thing still destroys for some reason.

The amount of ammo and damage potential meant it was supposed to be a close range powerhouse, with a few select options for a bit towards mid range. A high risk, high reward scenario if you will. However, I'm also a spiteful, hateful little demon, and believe that every primary weapon class needs to hit the worthlessness of auto rifles at least once so people understand what those like me went through. Auto rifles still aren't the same, and low impact high rate of fire auto rifles currently beat out high impact, slow rate of fire auto rifles... at range. That shouldn't happen.

I have tried several recently as I really want to use them, but I'm horrible with them. I've used eyasluna, imago loop, finallas peril, uffern, the only one I own and haven't used is ace of spades.

I try to use Hawkmoon still. It's just really difficult when the messed with the hit detection so much. I feel like so many of my shots don't register anymore.

They're still great if people use them or not. If you find some good ones and give them a real chance, you'll see they still kick ass. People complain all the time that they won't do well at scout rifle range, but that doesn't even make sense. Get in close and tear shit.

rolls make or break them for legendary/rare I've still got a rare Polite Denial 0/1 with LITC and SendIT that has 61 for the range stat - still works pretty good along with well rolled Ill Will and Timur's Lash First Curse can still be good if you are into the 94 impact archtype - several of the 81 impacts can be good also Some of the Omolon HC can be fantastic although I am really disappointed in the sound they make

Ultimate PVP weapon, check my Titan. Eyasluna w Rangefinder, Hidden Hand, Reinforced barrel. Basically Hawkmoon w much more range and is a headshot machine. By the way if you check my recent games only look at my Titan since I used NLB on Hunter lol
