"GET HER!"
"DON'T LET HER ESCAPE!"
"SHE'S A WARLOCK, SHE HAS THE AGILITY OF A PLATYPUS, SHE CAN'T OUTRUN US!"
"YOU'RE A PLAGUE TO THE CRUCIBLE!"
The Warlock, a Stormcaller to be precise, ignored the cries of the angry hunters as they chased her throughout the tower. She was almost out of breath, if she were to stop now, she'd be done for.
She had to keep going.
She ran, until she found two big, secluded metal doors. Probably a closet for the Broom-bots, she thought. She wasted no time and opened the doors, hiding herself from the mob that was gaining on her.
"Phew.. They won't find me in here.. I hope." She said to no one in particular.
The closet was pitch black. But at the far end, there was a small, simmering light. She dubiously walked towards it.
"Is.. Is someone there?" She called.
"Hello. It's me."
The phrase startled the warlock, while also giving her visions of some annoying singer some 700 years ago.
"Ahh! Who.. What are you!?" She looked at the light. Or what was left of it.
There sat a Titan. He looked extremely weak, and could barely move. In his hand, he held his trusty Hammer of Sol, which didn't have much of a glow. He used to be able to engulf himself in flames. Now, he looked like nothing more than a smoldering pile of Metal.
"I'm.. Im a Titan. Or what's.. *cough* left of one."
"What happened to you..?" The Warlock inquired.
"*cough*.. Long ago.. When.. When Oryx arrived in our Solar system.. Titans were granted the power of Solar light. Instead of using this power to push back the darkness, we were more focused on gathering the tears of others in the crucible. And we were foolish..."
The Warlock nodded, interested in hearing the rest.
"We angered the hunters like never before. They soon realized that they were no longer the top competitor, and the did everything they could to strip us Titans of our power. Which.. Is exactly what they did."
"But.. In all honesty, you guys were overpowered. I'm sure the hunters just wanted bala-"
"FOOL!" The Titan interrupted. "You think the hunters want balance!? Do you know how a hunters mind works!? Their definition of 'balance' means that they are the best! I heard them outside, chasing after you."
"They were!" The Warlock said, tearing up. "They wanted.. They wanted to.. Nerf me.." She broke down.
In the midst of her crying, the Titan leaned his hand over and began wiping them off of her face.
"Sniff sniff.. Thank you.." She said, pulling herself together.
"No, thank you." The Titan said, licking his hand. "Sorry.. I haven't had tears in a very long time."
"What the hell.."
"Don't question it. Anyway, the hunters. Now that they have gotten us Sunbreakers out of the way, they're gonna come for you. There is no escaping."
"B-But I'm balanced!"
"You WERE balanced. Back when I was top dog. But those days are long gone.. You're considered the overpowered one now."
"This.. This can't be. This isn't fai-"
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* Aggressive banging came from the other side of the closet door.
"OPEN UP, STORMCALLER. WE KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE."
The warlock looked at the Titan, terrified. The Titan simply nodded his head.
"Accept your fate. There is no running.
Suddenly, the doors busted down and a swarm of hunters surrounded the poor warlock, completely ignoring the Titan. The Titan closed his eyes, not wanting to watch. Godspeed, Warlock. May Bungie have mercy on you.
The hunters started yelling, one after the other.
"THOUGHT YOU COULD HIDE!?"
"IT TOOK SO LONG TO FIND YOU. ALMOST AS LONG AS YOUR SUPER LASTS."
"WATCH OUT, GUYS. SHE MAY SNIPE YOU WITH HER MELEE CHARGE."
"LANDFALL IS A PANIC MOVE, AND YOU KNOW IT."
"YOU. HAVE. NO. SKILL."
"NERF!"
"NERF!"
"NERF!"
The warlock, afraid out of her mind, rocked back in forth in a fetal position as the cries of hunters bombarded her. Suddenly, there was silence. The hunters, stepped to the side and opened a pathway, where a intimidating hooded figure came and looked down at the warlock.
She looked up in pure fear as the hooded figure slowly removed his hood.
"Hello Guardians!" The Grim Reaper-like figure revealed himself. It was none other than DeeJ.
"Hi DeeJ.." The hunters said in monotone unison.
DeeJ cleared his throat. "So, it seems that the community is having a little issues with the Stormcaller subclass. And I've come to fix that. Here at Bungie, we're always listening. Well, 00.4% of the time, at least."
DeeJ pointed his pointer finger at the confused warlock. "We've reduced the melee range of Warlocks by 75%. This will be a learning experience for the warlocks, as they will be more understanding of Titans."
DeeJ then snapped his fingers, and the Warlock's arms suddenly got more.. Reptillian.
"What!? T-Rex arms!? You can't give me these!"
"Quiet, you! He's balancing!" A Hunter scolded.
DeeJ continued. "We've also reduced the effectiveness of landfall. It no longer kills Guardians, only blinds them. Transcendence no longer increases the duration of the super, but increases recharge rate of Grenades. We've also nerfed the damage resistance, Stormcaller's will only have 40% damage resistance. And to finish things up, we've severely reduced the range of the lightning. Now it will be more of a challenge to wipe the entire team."
The hunters all laughed. "Hear that Warlock!? Now you'll actually require skill! You should be thanking us.."
DeeJ snapped his fingers, and all the nerfs transformed the Warlock.
"No! Not like this! Noooooooooo!"
When the smoke cleared, she felt unimaginably weak. She couldn't even pick herself up.
"W-Why.. Why have you forsaken me.."
"And that's it for this week's update, folks! Now, who wants to read a clan interview!?" DeeJ yelled.
All the hunters screamed "Yeah!!!" And the all walked out, following DeeJ.
The warlock crawled over and sat beside the Titan. "So.. This is what it feels like to be nerfed, huh? *cough*"
"Yep. You get used to it. On the bright side though, we get these!" The Titan then handed her a nerf gun.
The Warlock merely sighed.

So this is another story I wrote cause I'm bored. Hope you all like it!
Edit: This is not a jab to hunters. Just a silly story for all to read :)
Edit #2: If you didn't read, don't comment. It gets pretty annoying when people call you out and the post is supposed to be for fun. Lighten up, folks.

Dude, I absolutely love your stories. I'm a little late to the party though when it comes to them, but I still really enjoy reading them. Thank you for writing such excellent short stories.

Still reading, and it's amazing.

I was expecting the Titan to team up with the warlock. And i thought DeeJ gained a Warlock...

2 AntwortenThat Stormcaller nerf actually doesn't sound that bad. Little overboard, but for the most part, pretty good.

Not all hunters are bad!

Tears in my eyes (figuratively. This story is so true). If stormcaller gets nerfed the warlock will be terrible.

Nice story, was hoping the titan would let out a last burst of that burning fury I love to see (I main a hunter but still, flaming Thor was badass) but still good. Yes I read the part about that this is not a jab at hunters bur would still like to say. Hunters are not the problem, it is the people behind the controller. Most hunters I knew were not asking for insane nerfs like what sunbreaker got.

I spent my life running from hunters and deej since I am a warlock, but no longer. I hear the screams of a female with my power. I feel her absolute pain. And I know what has happened... She was nerfed, with no one to save her. I now understand the truth, the real truth, the REAL darkness, and it is put into one word... Hunter. Oh how I wish this was not the case, and oh how I was so oblivious to the unbelievable scenario. But I guess nightstalkers weren't enough; to stop a sunbreaker or stormcaller, they believe, you need more than to suppress their abilities. You need to destroy it, cripple it... Nerf it. When I felt those damn hunters bring in deej, I knew it was over. Our last hope, our last charm of freedom, it was gone. Or was it? When I pondered on this, I realized something, there was still hope. There is something that us warlocks can do that a hunter or Titan would never dare to toy with. It's because we are born, fireborn. We can fiddle with life and death in a way no one else could understand. That is how we fight. A nova bomb? No, you can dodge that. However, you cannot underestimate a radiance warlock wielding the infamous conspiracy theory-d with rangefinder. This is now where I stop running, and turn around, only to find the hunters waiting for me, thirsty for my op blood. I do not run, as for my fellow warlocks are right beside me, a conspiracy theory-d in everyone's clutches. Clutches, ha! What an ironic word to use in a time like this, because this is where everything changes. This is the turning point. This is war. This is where we become legend...

As a warlock myself I'm proud to say this story is highly entertaining.
