I recommend all of you do the exact same. Any time you see a player red bar, use your report feature for cheating / bad connectivity.
Because Destiny doesn't have dedicated servers, YOU CAN'T know which is which. Some legitimate players are going to get burned in the process, but it's collateral damage in efforts to create a better online experience as a whole.
I loathe Crucible events like IB and Trials now, because there are so many people willing to bend you over and take your win. They get away with it because they're given the benefit of doubt; maybe it is just their connection.
Regardless, why do you match good connectivity players with them?
Bungie: Either remove your win algorithm, so match making is a better experience, or spend some of that annual budget (from your Activision contract) on servers.

You do realize that if someone in the game with a red bar could cause others to red bar right? Also... there are multiple things that cause red bar. I have 500mbps net speeds and I red bar from time to time due to playing with people in bum -blam!- egypt.
-
I do that all the time. I lost my 6th match in Trials because a hunter kept red barring. He could hit all 3 of us, we can hit his teammates, but him, we could not kill... Lost 5 to 2 because of that awful awful awful red bar. Still today I am reporting that Mexican player. Not been racist, but it said Mexico on that guys profile... I 100% hate red bars also. Even if I red bar I take off, just message my team and say "hey, I am lagging, so I am out"

How hard can it be to match both connection and players closer to us?
-
You can talk to my ISP so they can actually fix my internet if you'd like :) I red bar, but I don't lag often and if I do, I try and do something to fix it. The last case of lag I saw was in SRL, and I actually messaged the guy because my friend was gonna report him. Said "you're lagging really bad, just letting you know" He replied "CenturyLink ftw"... I have CenturyLink as well. We've tried fixing our internet but their customer service sucks, and no other ISP serves my area within the NEXT 50 MILES. Not all of us can get the "good" internet to not red-bar. I'm sorry that internet companies are screwing us so hard it screws up your experience.

If you have a green bar I will report you for corrupting my connection and making me red bar.

Bearbeitet von GrizzlyTeeth: 1/11/2016 11:46:29 PMI have said this before in other posts to other parties, you need to educate yourself on how networked traffic actually works. First of all, most cheaters could appear green bar, since they switch intermittently. The quality check only happens once in a while and isn't realtime. And even then it is only an estimation. Home routers give the lowest priority to ipcm responses since it prioritize managing the actual traffic. This mean a ping of 100ms could actually be 10ms since it could have been "busy" before responding. The issue comes with fragmentation where a bad quality datastream messes things up. And this can happen even with a high bandwidth line.

I just reported you for not getting to the lighthouse. Scrub

I see what your saying. Flood them with reports until they change.

3 AntwortenI'm sorry for being in Malaysia.

Sometimes I red bar, for whatever reason I don't know. If I do I back out. It just brings the game down.
-
Yeah actually I report my friends for being unfriendly bad connection and cheating all the time because reports don't mean shit
-
Yeah I report friends and clan mates in my fireteam even if I know they have a connection over wi fi or multiple users at their house. How dare they ruin my gaming experience. Maybe I should I friend them.

Bearbeitet von Synthser: 1/12/2016 12:00:32 AM
I report you for cheating and bad connectivity
No. Report them for bad connection, that's perfectly reasonable. But you can't be sure that they're intentionally lagging. They could just have a bad signal and connection. If you find out one way or another that they are intentionally "doing the switch of lag" That's when they get reported for cheating. Also the host of a game could be red bar and thus bring down the entire team, and sometimes the entire lobby.

18 AntwortenReporting your average red bar for cheating makes you the false reporter which is an offence were as having a red bar isn't...
-
-
Agreed although I only report for bad connection. Ill report for cheating if they are obviously switching it. If i see your bar go from red to green at the end of a game where you are flashing all around the map ill report your cheatin ass 100% of the time
-
believe me. it will not do anything. the more reports one individual recieves only flags them to be looked into a little further and when they see that they dont, on average, lag then nothing will happen to them. youre better off reporting them for rude behaviour and offensive language. that has a much better chance of getting them a temp ban. i got a temporary ban of a week back in halo3 era due to being reported for offensive language and shit. apparently i had a pretty negative history for that.

7 AntwortenWow you seriously have no idea how the Internet works. I can sit on a 50MB fiber pipe and it's possible to have packet loss from me to you and Vice Versa. Your ISP and/or my ISP my route traffic differently.... Let me help you with this....I sense a glazed over expression. Just because you can watch Taylor Swift's latest fapable video with no buffer means Destiny P2P will have low latency. The only way for Bungie to fix PvP mini game is with dedicated server farms.
-
Yes. Same.

We can't help it if we red bar sir

#dedicatedservers

I've gotten red bar a few times before and it has been a huge disadvantage to me so would you still report me? (Also when I do get bar does last for maybe a minute or two at the most)
-
OP probably got rekt by a red bar. PS: I will play how I want. I'll play even if I red bar. I'm not intentionally trying to red bar, it's just the disadvantage of living with other people.

Filthy scrub... shut your childish mouth

2 AntwortenI played Trials last night. 3 games in a row my team and I, all green bars. Then we go up against another team who has 2 yellow bar and 1 red bar connection. All the sudden there are two of us, including me, who are red bar. Next team after that we are back to green. I don't know if the other team was doing anything intentional, but I know we weren't. By your logic we should all have been reported. You sir are a colossal idiot.
