Now, I've never posted anything like this before, but being an avid crucible 'sweaties' participant, I feel strongly about this and something needs to be done...
I have seen random nobodies go from being a free kill to making you work for it.
I have watched average skilled players go from being somewhat competitive to near unbeatable, basically over night.
All this due to changing subclass and combining certain elements of gear and perks to what is now way over powered...
Lets start by breaking it down a little:
In the last column of the skill tree we have Shadestep and Keen Scout,
Shadestep as we all know is an evasive roll that not only has next to no cool down, but makes you
1) Immune to damage for a brief moment
2) Almost invisible and near impossible to see which direction the roll is, and
3) one that most people are not aware of, Breaks off all aim assist and target acquisition... Then you have Keen Scout giving you enhanced motion tracker and Marks any target that you damage, also giving your allies a 'way point' to the target. This is effectively a Wall Hack and gives the person an overwhelming upper hand, especially when using a sniper rifle or a shotgun to know your enemies EXACT position and real time movements. In a sniper battle if you are 'hunted' and you dare step out to make the shot, you're dead basically before you step out. If you're up against a shotgun, all they have to do is run towards what ever cover you're behind, shadestep into you with their rolling ball of immunity and 'char' you're dead.
I can't even begin to recount the amount of times I have began a primary weapon battle with a nightstalker only for them to take a bullet and roll into cover to recover whilst watching me through a wall, double nading my exact location then rolling out to finish me with one shot or rolling in with a shotty like the previous example. Better yet, I have been forced to disengage my gun battle and completely change tactic, but I can't try and snipe him because he can see exactly where I'm standing. I am forced to run and hide until 'hunted' wears off, all whilst packing fudge into my undies because i don't know if he's going to pre fire me, nade me, roll shotgun me, super me, snipe me, or send his friends in to my exact position...
AND it gets better guys!! With the grav Exotic helmet, I can use both of these perks...
Now lets look at grenades and melee:
This can go one of 2 ways. Invis nade to further disengage from battles and disappear from radar whilst sneaking "faster" and gaining better vantage point. OR more popular is combining the smoke/snare, slowing/damaging the person in or near the cloud with a Vortex grenade at the same time basically guaranteeing a kill or a very weak opponent who cant jump and can barely see enough to shoot you back.. the smoke and vortex can been thrown at the same time to the same spot, you can't jump/boost/glide out of it, you cant even blink out of it..
The Super, Shadow Shot:
Apart from the Fact that it one-shot you, it can be shot either 3 times or have its duration AND range significantly increased, it completely cancels out ANY other Super, impairs your vision, cancels your abilities out, makes it that you cannot move/jump/blink and at the mercy of the night stalker and his team mates. Oh and Sunsinger locks no, you cant self rez when that little purple ball of fkyouup is sitting there guarding your orb.
There are no doubt parts that i missed, gear and weapon combinations like the already borderline op mida/shotgun set up, but I'm not going to leave this as a "rage post" or anything like that so I'd like to leave a few suggestions to perhaps fix some of this and invite any mature mind to contribute.
- Shadestep needs a longer cool down.
- Shadowshot tethers need a lot less hp so that there is a chance to destroy them if on the ground and allow it to be somewhat countered.
- "Hunted" or Target Marking should be removed or toned right down to around 3 seconds.. It is effectively a WALL HACK... come on that is ridiculous, we already have permanent radar.
- Smoke slow/snare should be able to be blinked out of or jumped out of or something OR there should be a cool down added between smoke thrown and grenade thrown.
Everyone cried when Hammer Titans ruled but that was only a super... this whole class is one giant super. It is so unfairly balanced it's crazy... Being a First Person Shooter, we should be rewarding GUNSKILL not super/ability exploitation. Abilities should compliment, not determine.

3 AntwortenWRONG. Shadestep is NOT immune to damage; I know because I've been using it since The Taken King launched, and have been shot out of Shadestep multiple times. Keen Scout only tracks for about three seconds; if you cannot find them, they could get away. The Super does not cancel on impact, meaning that a smart player will have just enough time to retaliate and kill you before they get away. Hunters are SUPPOSED to be agile you twit! There's nothing wrong with that at all. I suggest you make your way out of this game before the rest of the community forces you out. If you or your teammates died enough to get a Super that quickly, you deserve to get steamrolled. Now shut up and take your beating.

10 AntwortenI have a hard time believing this class is OP. It's slow, weak support class. The problem you see is the over-use of the class, just like Bladedancers were in their hayday. Now a bladedancer can't even catch a titan. As far as the fixes you suggest, they would only cripple the subclass. Peregrine Greaves, and whatever the Warlocks will eventually get would simply outclass the Hunter. Can't have that, they already god damn do. The smoke grenade is doing exactly as it should. You can't jump away from being blinded by a titan, or suppressed by a Warlock.

I'll give you your complaints, because I run a hunter on occasion and agree with your points. However, there is no reason to EVER call for nerfs. Adapt and excel.

What are you talking about the only redeeming factor of ns is the shade step which does not make you invincible when you kill a hunter mid shade step you get a i can see you medal i havr killed plenty hunters mid shade step hell I dont use ns because its a weak class pvp wise overall this is just you complaining about being killed a lot by a certain skill or class I dont blame you I do the same thing there is nothing wrong with being upset and then the reason the super is balanced is it takes 3 seconds for the tether to actully grab someone then it is able to be destroyed nine times out of ten you die before hitting the ground anyway so nothing is op in my opinion

Hahaha. The only thing that makes Nightstalker half way decent is venom smoke melee and vortex grenades. Otherwise the super sucks, and by the way shade step is no different than blink except it's a lot easier to be killed when using it.

19 AntwortenI love when dickheads like you make these awfully long posts asking to be roasted with facts about something that is the complete opposite. I usually main Nightstalker on my hunter, and really, it's quite weak, it's got [b]the most defensive super[/b] (next to a bubble of course) and running quiver doesn't help with anything because if your near 3-4 people and you pop your super, you are dead before you hit the ground again, hence why I run black hole. Also, along with the Shadow Shot super, yes it does stop other supers, but have you also realised that a Defender Titan can do that [b]with a grenade they can get every 25 seconds[/b] so really, it's quite fair, so stop bitching on that part because it's quite fair. Shadestep, the funnest ability on any class, for the fact that you can juke everyone, and still kill them and laugh at the end, because you've been outplayed, but anyway, I'm all seriousness, Shadestep is half the reason why I die, with it either not working, or if my weapons don't ready quick enough to take the next shot. You are able to be shot mid Shadestep, yes, it does hurt when you're being shot at honestly, but in no way, are we invincible while using it. Although it's fun being able to have a firebolt grenade land on top of us, and Shadestep to negate all damage from it. Lastly, Keen Scout, it is useful for knowing where the enemy is, and any decent player would never [/b]ever[/b] peak while they are hunted, either that, or they would piss bolt away from any sightlines, and would retreat to safety, and obviously you would have problems with doing that. 5 AntwortenSo we're lead to believe that shadowshot is a super from a support class. The only support class with a offensive super? Lol get real and just remove damage from the bow all together. Is cancelling super, draining super, slowing down, chaining damage, grouping enemies, and spewing orbs really not enough?

My only complaints are shadestep spammers and the smoke/vortex combo. It's stupid that it traps you in the grenade like that. Smoke should have just been it's own grenade.

To the people that don't agree with the post, then you probably rely on this subclass to be relevant and have little to no gun skill. I have also witnessed those who are 'free killls' to becoming harder to kill just because they use all the cute, scrub tactics and abilities that the class consists of. Anyone in the sweaty community in Australia and has self respect will not use this class because players are wanted to be known for their gun skill. You either want to win a game that means nothing towards your own reputation, which is completely fine for those who are casuals and wish to just have fun, by all means use this class; those that are not casuals and abuse this class in every sweaty, winning is not everything when the players you come against will never respect you whilst using these abilities and scrub tasics without displaying gun skill.
