Okay, so I'm getting my ass handed to me in IB, she's not the greatest geared, but my word, I seem to just suck at this class. My main is a Huntress, but I really love the sub classes the Lock has to offer, so I'm trying to play her more.
Currently I find myself having a great deal of trouble just maneuvering, my glides don't seem to go where I want them to, and I'm constantly bumping into things, overshooting or cut short my jumps (Which has had me fall to my death a number of times unfortunately)
Right now I'm running as a Void lock, and doing my best not to kill myself when shooting my nova bombs, though Storm Caller seems to be vastly superior for 6v6 (due to the raw killing potential)
Do any of you have some advice or know of some good video's I can watch to help me be a better Warlock and not so much of a darn scrub?

Here is some knowledge from a fellow warlock to another. When using GLIDE learn to tap when using glide you can cancel a glide then rengage a glide up to 2 or sometimes 3 times when falling from a high point. Also for glide use focused burst by far the best option. Learn the "warlock skate" jump normally then press it again to enage the glide it will give a you a forward/downward boost. Blink- learn how far a blink will get you and how high. Also the the delay between after using 2 blinks in quick succesion it's usually about 5 seconds until you can rengage 1 blink 10 seconds for both blinks. As a voidwalker I suggest using blink in a defensive manner. Unless of course you like an offensive play style. Just go to patrol and play around with it. Every warlock was in your position when we first started just takes sometime to get used to If you want some good general PvP advice try TrueVangaurd's videos. Good luck fellow warlock. (^ω^)

Your extended melee range makes up for your glide.

As a stormcaller I would run: Pulse grenade Focused burst Superconductor Amplitude Arcane spirit Transcendence Divine order Electrostatic mind I love this loadout, of course I use the impossible machines so I get landfall I pop stormtrance.

The Warlock is kind of tricky in general to master. It's my main, but sometimes I have problems floofing about. My main tips are: Glide: It can be awesome or it can lead you to your death. Like accidentally falling off a incline just as you double tap jump just to float aimlessly into the dark abyss below. (You can make the jump someday. Or you can take the easy way out and fill the pit below with your bodies until you have a solid platform!) I usually run with Burst because glide has a lot of control in the air. Balanced is ok but most times you can't even get to a decent height and control is just pointless in my opinion. Blink is a beast of its own. Once you get the feel for it and realize it has a cool down and you have to plan your jumps it becomes easier to maneuver Voidwalker: Grenades usually depend on my gear. I run scatter with the Nothing Manacles and axion bolt and vortex with the Voidfang Vestments. With the ram I just use Axion Bolt and use Surge instead of Life steal. When in PvP try out Bloom. I don't know how many times I've almost killed someone and they run around the corner for help and I toss a grenade and get a double kill from the explosion. The keyword for Bloom is Collateral damage. For Nova Bomb I mainly run shatter because it can destroy a titan bubble and kill anyone inside (bloom adds to the chaos) I also use Angry magic for the extra tracking. You can also adjust your nova bomb using the left control stick to give it a wider spread or to make it into a tripple tap of pinpoint death. I used to practice with shatter on a patrol to really get the hang of it. Side note: Energy drain is the buff you get when you melee with a full charge. It cools down your grenade faster so make sure you use it first before the melee. Also energy drain will not overlap so if you use embrace the Void it will just ruin the Energy drain uptime. You want to space out your melee, grenade, and super hits. For your stats (Armor, Recovery, and Agility) I run Arcane Force and Divine Order. It gives max Armor(with angry magic), good recovery and gives enough extra agility to get around without feeling like you are running in place. I tried to make this short but I wrote a novel instead Tldr: When I'm walking I like to do it in the void.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von FullSpe3D: 1/2/2016 9:25:51 PMDon't use Void, it's awful. At this point it's literally a troll class. You used to be able to just save your Nova Bomb to deal with Sunbreakers but the hammers got nerfed so Nova Bomb is pointless. Stormcaller's decent but you're relying on Transcendence to get you kills. If you can't go off with your super then it's useless, because Arcbolts got nerfed to the ground.

I don't use Voidwalker but here's the advice I can give for general play. Jump around. Literally. Just learn that jump, it's a tricky one, took me about an hour from my first time actually playing a warlock, but now I can run it perfectly. Avoid the narrow paths and low ceilings when possible, jumping as a Warlock in these areas is always tough. Double tap quick for immediate take off, once you reach your desired height double tap again for lateral glide. On Sunsinger play aggressive. Get in close with flame shield. Get in with a shotgun or an auto and destroy them in the close game. As a Stormcaller play a little distant, mid range, take advantage of it your extended range melee, and try to only activate your super on full melee and grenade charges.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von redforeman67: 1/2/2016 9:51:14 PMGet Tlaloc. I use Starfire protocol with fusion grenades. Don't bother with self rez go for the burns. Max out strength and discipline. This gives you lots of grenades ,excellent melee and a wicked gun once your super is charged. I run Mida until my super is charged. I used to run voidwalker but I've found this loadout way better for PVP.
-
Just play sunsinger with firebolts. Touch of Flame and Viking Funeral make you a god.
-
Get tlaloc. ASAP Combined w/ sunsinger w/ self-rez, its unstoppable.
-
Try using storm caller with storm grenades, ionic blink, extended melee, transcendence, and arc web. I usually buff my armor and recovery as far as possible and use the ram
-
All the Warlock -blam!-s need is self-res or blink. I'm a Pvp pro, trust me.

5 AntwortenOther than the fusion grenades for Sunsinger, any warlocks have grenades they actually like? Axion Bolt got nerfed and does terrible damage IMO. And God forbid they shadestep.

For jumping, double tap jump quickly to get the most out of it. I like focused burst personally. Try it out. As a warlock, recovery is your strong suit. Play back a little. You won't be as fast as your hunter and you won't be as tanky as a Titan. Trying to find the middle is tough. But I enjoy playing as my warlock the most. Enjoy and good luck!

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von WinterzAsh: 1/2/2016 3:46:32 PMHi, I used main a warlock in y1. Get void fang vestments and axion with blink. Void fang means every spawn you have a grenade ready. Use it every chance you get as it puts someone on the defensive right away. Don't try to jump too much, stay grounded and save your super for bubbles and heavy. Other than that.. hmmm.... good luck!

Switch glide for blink, and axion bolt grenades are your friend....also spec for agility and recovery

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von A Wax Yogi Bear: 1/2/2016 1:34:56 PMNot a bad setup, I mainly use my Hunter / Titan but this is what I've learned also after looking at your load out. Scatter Grenades got a Nerf recently so tbh you might be better with Axion Bolt as it tracks and makes people either runaway or finishes them off. If so take bloom of and increase their range. Blink, yes the more you use it you'll get better with it, can confuse people beyond belief. Get THE RAM your using life steal which is awesome but with THE RAM you get this node for free and extra armour and can have energy drain on top making your melee very powerful. Save your super, nova boom is very powerful, along with the increased blasts radius its best situational I found, similar to FoH. Rush the enemy's heavy or when you know 3+ are trying to cap a zone it could turn the tide of the match. I can't comment how good you are with a sniper, I'm not a 360 no scope god but getting better, but don't rely on it too much get the shot (or two) and keep moving, even if it's a body shot killing an enemy that a team is fighting is fine not kill stealing, this with Monte Carlo and your melee will keep you alive. Probably finally if your not that confident don't go Rambo, it's great for the ToO players but stick to your team back them up looking for opportunities to assist move as a pack or at least in twos. Hopes that helps good hunting.

As a Voidwalker, max out your armor & recovery in the skill tree, and use armor that adds a bonus for void-based. Then either get used to being slow or use MIDA for the agility boost. You'll be surprised what you can tank.

Just play around with it on patrol in the cosmodrome around the plane wrecks, That's what I did anyway when I first created one :)

Swap to SC and profit. I was running VW with the Ram and ed doing so so, I swapped to SC and had some really solid games.
