The Player Base Will Die Without New Content Soon
It finally happened to me today. I was playing Iron Banner with my brother (which is so much worse as control... Back to sitting in as circle, waiting to be killed by a super.) when we both were just like, @why are we even doing this?"
There's no point in leveling up equipment. There's not going to be any new PVE and Year 2 will almost certainly make using all these weapons impossible.
All that's left is the Raid... Over and Over... For sub par raid gear to use to infuse other guns.
So, today, we started merging weapons... But here's the problem... Most of the weapons don't have any unique perks and aren't even worth infusing.
We've hit the wall. I think, in the coming weeks, if something. Outside of another stupid mini game/cash grab isn't announced, Destiny is going to see a huge drop off.
Bungie hasn't considered the reason people want higher gear... It's to play... Bribes to play mini games with high gear only work if there is a game to play.
Sadly, sooner or later, there no longer is.
Destiny needs DLC... Badly.

Time for some new PVE content

6 AntwortenYup as much as people complained about HOW and skolas, (really, people just wanted some more content), it still had some awesome improvements. My guardians looked awesome because I could mix and match all of our fav stuff. We had a [b]ton[/b] of beast weapons. You could get amazing loot from both raids, skolas, IB, Trials and nightfalls. We got a blazing blue head and a buff from nightfall completions. Overall I enjoyed how the game felt and being able to do whatever I wanted and still get great rewards. TTK absolutely [b]trashed[/b] every part of what I just listed. The road to max was filled with chores. Rewards were replaced with double RNG. Exotics bring your light level [b]DOWN[/b]. Sparrow racing was a great thing! But they ruined the fun I would have had with it by making it the only freaking way to get a decent level helmet. No elemental primary weapons is super lame and obliterated the want or need to have different weapon load outs. The tower sells better primary weapons than the raid has to offer. Nobody can deny that. [b]I did golgoroth 3x last week and NOT ONE PERSON even mentioned doing the rest of the raid![/b] They made the game so much worse and people are absolutely going to remember this when Destiny 2 is released. Instead of wondering what new stuff D2 might offer, we will be wondering what fun ruining BS they are hiding.

1 AntwortenI just wish they would talk to us more... If the game engine is horrible like that interview suggested, I'd rather they just admit it to us. Tell us that they need to put their time and money into correcting their deficiencies, and optimize all of their programs. It's probably too late now, but if they had just asked for help and understanding, many of us would have given it to them. Now I can only hope that whoever working there still has heart, and at least feels some level of guilt...

3 AntwortenHow about these stopgaps: 1) Upgrade all raids to have Year 2 level loot -- same gear, just different point values. 2) Do the same with all other Year One content, like PoE. Alternative to the above -- allow year one Legendaries to be upgraded. None of these options are hard for Bungie, except for developer stubbornness and willingness to relegate to the dustbin years of their effort and ours to have a great first year. The advantage? Instant replay value created -- where before there was none.

When Destiny 2 drops do they think the same no DLC cycle will work? If the DLC cycle was too hard to keep up with and the only free events they can manage is SRL, do you think Destiny 2's life span will be any different? A festival sized event isn't going to breath new life beyond the time frame it is active. And are we really okay with having stuff constantly given and then taken away? Doesn't that feel a little manipulative to you? They're collapsing under their hype. They emptied their tanks before the first corner was even completed. When a $20 DLC gets youtubers flown out to Seattle for twitch reveals maybe someone should have been asking "is this too much, can we keep this up?"

2 AntwortenI think new dlc will come out January/February namely the vex void dlc 4 new dead ghosts in destiny talk a lot about the vex.... The nex dlc on the leaked calendar of things to come says vex void will be the next dlc I think it is only a matter of time before bungie officially announces it. Bungie has already said in January we will get "the biggest release of content since the taken kings launch"I hope they keep their word.

1 AntwortenIt's hard staying interested in destiny with dlc every 3-4 months. But nothing substantial in content until September, 9 months from now? No way. It'll be totally dead by April. And I doubt many of that player base will return. Especially if bungie continues on its current path of catering to pvpers. Destiny was supposed to be a new and grand experiment in an expansive pve experience. Now it's a cruddy call of duty/halo bastard child with the worst lag compensation system of all three. I don't plan on pre-ordering.

It already is half of my clan has gone cuase they are already 320 on 2 charchters and can't be brotherd to play anymore and the other half of my clan only do raid when bugger off until Tuesday again to try there luck at challenge mode.

3 AntwortenThe game already is dead, pretty sure they said there is no major new content for Destiny left they are going to release so basically the game is running on the smaller events and borrowed time until they release Destiny 2 and start the process of money grubbing all over again. One can only hope that Destiny 2 will be leagues better if they learned what to and not to do with the game since they have made some pretty questionable decisions in the past.

5 AntwortenLack of content has been a problem since the start. It as well has been compounded by the fact that expansions don't expand. Rather they remove prior content in favor of the limited new content.

1 AntwortenFelt the same way when they announced: "Woo! More Year 2 versions of Year 1 stuff!" Yeah, that's cool, except I already havr the blueprints for all the Y1 stuff. So getting the year 2 variants is a matter of "will bungie release them?" Plus, I've done all the content with the existing gear, there is no reason to chase new gear.

Bump. Played SRL for 1/3 the time it was available because it was boring as fuk and it was a huge grind.
