Monstrumologist series by Rick Yancey. Rereading it. First one is a horror adventure, but the rest are psychological and physical horrors. The third is the best in my opinion.

I also enjoy historical, political, and fantasy novels by numerous authors. My favorite books are all of the works of LOTR including the lore. I'm also in the process of deciphering Desticleglyphics.

Frank Peretti. He's a Christian horror writer, so he's somewhat biased, but he's still a great writer.
