Is there a good way to level up past 291 without raiding?
I'm trying to level up more so I can raid but I can't level up if I can't raid. I'm high enough level just no one will let me join them in the raid. Is there a good way to level up past 290 without raiding? Thank you all for your suggestions with the help of some of you I went rainding for the first time :D and I have also maxed out iron banner I'm now a 304 :D thank you all again for your help

I've never tried any part of the raid and I can be 308 with the right gear

Iron banner is a easy way, SRL was super easy, and you can just get lucky. But if someone won't let you raid due to being 290, then that person isn't very good at the game

I love how I'll see posts like "oryx hard cp 315+ only" I did my first time at like 308 and had more kills and less deaths than the 317 elitists. I used to be an elitist at this game (I'm a beta day one player) but I'm not into the whole grind for 320 anymore. But I'd always help people lower light do vault, crota, or skolas. Bottom line don't listen to these elitist they're generally scrubs that aren't good enough so they wanna pad their chances of completing a raid by having top end players carry them. You can do normal raid at 291 easy.

Iron Banner is probably you're best bet. I believe from Rank 3 and up you can get 300+ drops. The weekly Nightfall usually awards 290+ gear. Three of Coins from Xur will get you some nice gear. You're raid ready now though, IMO. Don't listen to the elitist pricks. 291 is fine for normal mode KF. If you're having trouble finding a group, I suggest making your own. Let the players come to you. This may take longer but at least they'll be willing to play with you. If you're on PS4 I'd be happy to lend a hand. Add me @TheWitchChild if you want.

Definitely ib, nightfall, trials and three of coins is your best bet. Also something I found, I am stuck at 299, put on your best gear to get your light level as high as you can when getting rewards and decrypting engrams, its not guaranteed but it seems like the light level is directly drawn to first the activity you got the engram from and then your light level when decrypting, I have found that I get more 295 to 300+ once I started making sure that I was at highest light level when I received the gear. Hope that helps, I have also heard that 290-299 light level has a higher chance to drop 300+ gear, where 280-289 has a higher chance of dropping 290+ gear and so on, so it seems to go by light range.

I got up to 295 - 298 on my 3 just by playing the game. Nothing special I got all 3 over 300 by doing SRL (too late to use that now), but IB, nightfalls and other events will help

I just get lucky in items, infuse the hell out of things I like and keep plugging. When "cashing in" engrams wear highest level gear to get better light level stuff. If on ps4 contact me, remind me who you are, and we can try running thru some as I've not done raids either and want to.
