I recognize dealing with revives is essential to success in trials. However, with fast revive gear, it can be oppressively strong to spam revives during a match.
Revive mechanics currently rewards sloppy play. Shields are strong, immunity frames are silly, and getting revived should be a risky last ditch effort.
Dying early should be punished...Instead, teams are forced to get up close with shotguns to stop a revive, or use sniper ammo after it has already happened.
Essentially, primaries are useless during revives, and causes a situation where you either stop the revive before it happens, or have to wait until it is over with before you can react to it.
This lack of counter play needs to be fixed IMO...but I'd love to hear what you think
Ps: Datto hasn't whined or even called for the nerf. I think they are the issue and believe they aren't being done properly. Don't be calling him out when he is more on your side than I am.
Edit: Shocked at how many people aren't even watching the video and trying to discuss this. It is as if nobody is even listening to the arguments and understanding why... I'm not asking to nerf them into the ground, just stop rewarding people for dying.

The doctrine of passing, Monte Carlo, and suros with spin up are good revive counters half the time I play I usually melt people right at revive with said weapons.

1 AntwortenWARNING:post is slightly irrelevant and I think a unpopular opinion. Also I wrote this with my phone, so no hate for spelling errors plz. I think Rez sniping, while an interesting and somewhat fun start, needs to go. While I'm not saying that you shouldn't be able to snipe someone after they are revived, they should at the very least have some sort of chance of living. Currently if you are playing against s good team, if you end up dead, even if your teammate manages the revive you die before even getting the chance to move around. Rez sniping has very little counters besides the "just make him look away", and even that means you have to have to have put yourself in a position you would should never otherwise be in. Unfortunately I'm basically ranting because I can not for the life of me think of a way to fix this, with out making people seem even more so as if they are being rewarded for dying. That's just my 2 cents.

Here is a crazy idea....remove revive over shield but also remove the revive animation. No bonus shield for getting killed. But since you can move right away it'll be harder to get res sniped.

If they got rid of the immobilization(animation of being resurrected) after being rezzed... then I wouldn't have a problem with them getting rid of shields period.

My biggest problem is how short the timer is. If I get a pick at the start of a round. We can't push the revive because as soon as we get there the player will be getting up and two people will have strong over shields to let them survive grenades and have advantage in fight. On Drifter we tried a stupid strat where two of us jumped off at the start. So the other team pushed hard and then we just double rezzed when they pinged on radar and killed them with overshields. Got quite a few free round wins. 5 seconds is way too short.

I suppose I can agree to an extent, but I think there needs to be some way they have a chance to get back up or escape if they are revived. Hence the shield and immunity. I'm not sure how you would balance it.

4 AntwortenAbsolutely agree with you, I've found myself having to run away because I was gunning someone down with my primary who completely ignored me and revived their teammate. I think crest of alpha lupi needs a rework, I've heard about this idea where crest decreases the revive timer instead of speed and I think that it is brilliant. The shield also needs a rework, The person that revives shouldn't get an overshield, and the person that is revived should get an overshield instead of an immunity period. Most other games punish you for reviving during a firefight, I honestly don't understand why destiny rewards you. I've noticed that using the word "nerf" on the forums isn't a good idea, most people over here will start hating without reading the post. Anyway love your vids mtashed and keep up the good work.
