A sincere Thank You to Bungie for the stocking stuffers!
The year is coming to a close and like many Guardians, I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I think its great that Bungie is giving us all some strange coin, motes of light and an emblem just for being Guardians.
Just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You to Bungie...the stocking stuffers are a nice little nod to all us players and we appreciate it!
Im sure some people will complain that its not enough, or make the same old jokes about microtransactions to come. But there is a contingent of Guardians who, like me, are just thankful for the gifts. Remember what time of year this is and that Bungie isnt your uncle who pulled your name out of a grab bag. A simple Thank You to the devs is all that's necessary.

despite the bs at times ,i have had a wonderful year with destiny . just like all friends and what you love,you accept the good and bad. appreciated what you could take with you,laughter ,memories,friends,raid spoofs and chat jokes. merry Christmas guardians ! i have had fun gaming !

You need to learn that's expected with these forums, you don't need to look like some hero or role model, or example. I never enjoy seeing threads such as "Wow bungie, you do a great job. Thanks" after a relatively half assed presentation from a AAA game company, no offense. It encourages laziness. I would never glorify them for 15 sc/mol because tbh I can get that in 15 minutes of play. Yes, it's a gesture, but they have a live team now who is supposed to be making live events. We pay them for it, don't we? Tell them to do their job and make the tower holiday-ish. They should've spent more time on the winter holiday event than halloween one, obviously because the winter holiday is more important for most. Their priorities are wrong for one, and their business practices seem to also be misguided. We were told micros would be cosmetic only and we already know what has launched and they aren't cosmetic. (level 25 booster packs) Aside from that, all live events the live team has started have included micro transactions, so I really don't see what they're doing correctly. They've completed Festival of the Lost and Sparrow Racing League, both which endorse micros, which pay for their team. If players were told micros would be paying for non cosmetics, events which only sponsor more micros, and forget the biggest holiday of the year, many more would've disagreed with micros being introduced.

I personally feel it's a meaningless gesture and could care less about it. It's mats that would take 30 minutes to accumulate. I would have been fine with nothing since both motes and strange coins are basically useless now.

Those are good gifts for newer players. It's just another leaf in the pile for vets. They should have made different packages available and you could pick one. Motes and coins for new players (obviously), maybe Weapon Parts and Synths for one package (for heavy strike playlist people), Telemetries and a couple of exotic shards for another (for infusion happy people). At least this would seem like a little thought and effort went into making the population feel appreciated for sticking around.

55 AntwortenI'm really sorry for those that are this easy to please. Thankful for whatever breadcrumbs Bungie drops from the clouds. I simply ask, instead of the coins and motes.. Why not an Exotic Engram? Even better, if we could choose which type? That would be a hell of a Christmas present. Something people could get excited about. Instead we get gifts that most (if not all of us) can accumulate in an hour or less. But hey, whatever floats your boat. Keep being content with junk and all you'll ever get is junk. Sure, there is the argument that Bungie doesn't have to give us anything and spoon fed and blah blah blah get the stick out of your ass and look at the big picture. If that's the best Bungie can do to thank us, I'd rather get nothing at all. It isn't like we aren't the reason their families get incredible Christmases from the bonuses they no doubt got from all the silver bought. They couldn't be the smallest bit creative? What the hell man.

12 AntwortenAgreed OP. A couple of points for the entitled whiners: 1) Put the controller down and focus on the holidays in the real world. Don't get your Spider-Man undies in a twist over virtual gifts. 2) Drop the "I bought your game now what are you going to do for me" attitude. Your (or your moms) $70 purchase doesn't buy you any power, and that goes for any game not just Destiny. So many of you act as those you're "investing" in this game and expect things to be thrown to you for free constantly just for gracing the game with your presence, but you're nothing more than an end-user and you're free to walk away at any time if you don't like the product. Real investors put hundreds, thousands of dollars into buying a stake in a company with the expectation that the company will succeed and provide returns on their investment. They take on actual risk, and if the company fails they can lose a lot more than their initial investment. That's what real investing is, and that's why those people have a voice and a say in what the company does. If you think buying a video game is anything like that you're delusional. You spent money on a hobby, nothing more. If you don't like how the game is going or aren't satisfied with anything Bungie gives you then take a walk. Stop buying any new content, stop pouring hundreds if not thousands of hours into it, and walk away. You're not going to get any returns on your make-believe "investment" so do yourself a favor and quit while you're ahead. Rant over.
