I consider myself a raid master. I love playing the role of the Sherpa and teaching the newer players how to complete the raid and what they should know. I'm a year one player who's always been a high level. Right now I have 3 sitting at 317 light level.
However recently I've noticed a large amount of light level discrimination. People don't even give the newer players a chance on the team if they are below their (a lot of the time ridiculous) standards for the raid team.
A lot of the lower level players in a few groups I'm in are starting to get extremely frustrated because the veterans won't give them a chance or won't teach them then kick them when they fail.
I can understand why you can get frustrated with new players but try to remember that at one time some one taught you how to beat the raid. If a player is a little lower bit lower but posts about wanting to beat the raid then take a moment. Give em chance and coach them through.
Destiny is all about cooperation. If you have time then give the newbies a chance. The veterans need to start being leaders and not so impatient.
Conclusion: the veterans have spoken and they make a good argument. If your a new player get educated yourself by reading and watching strategies on how to raid. make it clear you're new and listen and follow directions.
Sometimes you don't have time to teach but keep in mind that those "horrible" rewards are something the newbies would die for for.
Until bungie does the smart thing and makes vog and Crota relevant again and drop year 2 gear allowing for more leveling and practice for the new players before kings fall. You have to just be mature and educated and try to convince the higher levels to pick you up
Edit: let me make it clear, since a lot of you are so angry, that Its my opinion and I'm only trying to promote more cooperation. I understand if you don't have time to teach them, then you just don't have time. I'm not telling anyone how they should play just suggesting more patience for the newbies. U ps3 would i would like some help. With hard mode.
-
I once went on a kings fall raid (hard and yes im 301 light and i still haven't done normal) forum and there was a guy who was asking for 310+ okay? His highest character was 299. And he had a full fireteam
-
Bottomline you're a scrub to ask for 315 plus on lfg. Like I said before, if you can't do it at 310 you sure as hell won't do it at 315.
-
Just finished the hard raid for the first time at 305 light and by the time I finished I was 310. The hardest part of the whole experience was finding a group willing to take me. It was fun though and honestly not too hard at all

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Douchebag_LvL10: 12/24/2015 8:13:07 AMI've been meaning to play "normal" raid but can't seem to "join" a fireteam since I'm under 310... I hope those players burn Destiny down to the grave. I really wish Destiny haven't come to this but you know.

Bungie created this with the new infusion system. Raid armor being rng is pretty crap imo

It's not everyone's job to help new players when this is purely for entertainment's sake. If your enjoyment is tied to completing the raid, then you shouldn't feel obligated to a player that might extend the time taken by 1-2 hours. By all means, if you do enjoy that, do so - but not everyone has that drive. I only sometimes help on weekends, but if I'm busy, I'm fine saying I just want people that can help me get the raid done as soon as possible.

7 AntwortenI got a 320 and 319.9 and 319 Sherpa people as well People need to git gud
-
yesterday I join a team in Kings fall HM from the beginning. it was until we got to the totems that I noticed someone was 283 light lvl (he was dying all the time) it was his first time and someone was explaining to him how the mechanics works. I told the guy teaching him to go to normal mode that way the new guy has a better chance. He said he was a good player and all. as soon as the conversation was reaching its end people just started to leave the raid team. moral of the story: teach the raids in normal.

Same pepole kick me and my gf just because she doesn't know one part
-
Yeah I agree.. I remember it been a pain trying to find a team to show me vog..

1 AntwortenIts good that other people feel like u man, I couldnt join a warpreist challenge the other day on hard as my hunter was a 306!! I jave ran the raid many times and am sure how to do it with many diff strats, the fact my wife had a baby so I dont get time to sit on ot alll dayy goes against me but when I do have time im working on it :-D
-
Thank you I get turned down for hard oryx just for being 309 but knowing all the strats
-
I'll never understand that mentality. My favorite raids are the ones where I get to explain the mechanics to a new player. Not all about the loot, people.
-
You wanna know something? Last night I was in a group at hard totems. We had 3 319s, 2 317s, and a 303. We couldn't get past the totems after 45 minutes so I left. It is rediculous at the lack of skill some of the higher light level people have. Light level DOES NOT EQUAL MOTHER -blam!-ING SKILL. STOP TREATING IT LIKE IT DOES

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Forza: 12/24/2015 12:26:17 AMJust played with these 2 guys. 316 and 315. Clearly has not been raiding like all the pros (every week on hard, nobody cares about your schedule). Nevertheless 316 shows they've done hard more than once or twice. Complete dumbasses. Not gonna explain what happens but they were complete dumbasses. Point? More times than not, u know what kind of player ur dealing with by their light level
-
There are times to help, and times where you just want to quickly run through a raid. Appreciate the help, but don't whine about not getting it.
-
Light level means less to me than the ability to focus and get the job done in a raid. Far too may 315+ players who really struggle with Totems and Warpriest.
-
Did HM at 304 that got me to 309 without even doing oryx
-
Im energy level 76 get on my level scrubs.
science jokes
2 AntwortenI cleared through the exotic chest on hard as a 300. I wasn't carried, I ran aura and gaze at times, and I did just as much damage as my counterparts (except when I ran aura/gaze). Light isn't that important.
-
My first raids were both done on HM, and I was very happy to have dedicated teams who explained the raid mechanics as we ran through. Serious shout out to the Dames and the wonderful folks from DBO. Being new to a raid doesn't mean a player is incapable, it just means they need to be willing to communicate and learn. If all you want is a speed run, I can understand only wanting to run with experienced fellows, but if you actually want to enjoy a raid and have fun, there's no reason NOT to take the time to share it with new people.
-
2 AntwortenI intentionally ignore anyone on LFG sites that list requirements or all the guns/gear they have. They are most likely a little too high strung and I wouldn't want to play with them anyway. I'm not the best player in the world but at the risk of sounding conceded, I'm usually a great addition to any raid team. I like to have fun, I'm patient, love helping new people through (regardless of age) and it doesn't hurt that I'm pretty skilled. I get it, some people are just in it for the gear and want to get things done quick but I find it more satisfying helping new players accomplish something they've never done before.
