So these are things that I saw that need attention in SRL
-sparrow loses too much speed when landing
-jade rabbit armor should be upgradable over 300+ light
-legendary horns should drop in SRL not nightfall
-more tracks and challenging obstacles
-new sparrows (sparrow with guns rewarded from SRL for PVE use only)
-SRL exclusive gear including weapons, ghost and artifacts (jolly holiday decorated)
-separate SRL modes with weapons (able to get of your sparrow and shoot a rocket) also sparrow with guns if possible

1 AntwortenOne thing that has always bugged me about sparrows in general is the way that when turning hard (pushing the joystick all the way in one direction) you get the turn you are expecting then suddenly at the last second the turn rate jumps dramatically and your nice slide around the corner suddenly turns into a face-plant into the wall. Or if you don't hit anything, you go into a chain of zig-zagging back and forth because of constantly trying to compensate for the weird turning action. Just give me a predictable turn rate that is constant so I can do some nice drifting.

8 Antworten1) Fix the freakin' throttle system. If I have the trigger pulled all the way, I should never ever find myself at a dead stop after going thru a gate. I have no idea why you designed sparrows to shut off the engine thrust when any collision (minor, major, or imagined) occurs. Got news for ya, if you keep a throttle full open, the vehicle will automatically attempt to reagain its original speed. It won't just sit there. I should never exit the portal on Venus with my trigger squeezed in a white-knuckle inducing death grip to find myself just sitting on the tabletop landing at a dead stop, but I have. 2) Get rid of the "Catch-Up-Boost" or whatever your program designation for it is. - don't even deny it. I have experienced it from both sides. I got no problem with the gate adjustment getting wider or narrower for postion. However, if I am in first place going down the straightway on Mars and I don't miss a gate, there better not be anybody passing me by like I'm parked. The only sparrow that should have a chance to overtake me is the TimeBreaker/GraveRobber using the over thrust. All others have the exact same thrust levels.. This ain't crucible or Iron Banner, so get rid of the buffs. I got no issue losing to a better player,. I take great exception losing because of a game mechanic that shouldn't even exist. 3) Fix the side thrust use & recharge. Tired of hiting my thrusters twice for the first time in a race only to have nothing happen and then see the indiicator is now red. Also tired of tricks not triggering. When ariborne, using the d-pad and nothing happens, except I land and still have no side boost energy. Also, how many taps do you get before it's empty? If the movement doesn't trigger, then quit stealing my energy. 4) Fix the boost gate triggers. Multiple times going thru the boost gate then the portal on Mars only to have my sparrow fall out of the sky short of landing, because I dont have any thrust left- Should never ever happen. I purposely try to miss gates to avoid their boost - I pass by them on the left or right by 5 feet or more and they still trigger - slams me into a wall or jettisons me forward at the wrong angle. I then go to hit a gate and I put both front stabilizaerst inside the gate before I pass, and I get absolutely no boost increase. Can't tell u how many times I have gone from 2nd to last on this one, because 2 gates in a row fail to trigger. 5) Fix your collision programming & detection. Tired of taking the bunny hop jump afte starting the race on Venus only to blow up on touchdown How come I can take a burning sparrow, fly thru a boost gate right into a wall, bounce off and keep going with minimal loss of speed? Why does my unscathed sparrow graze a corner, or exit the portal and blow up? 5) Spatial dynamics - A sparrow should never be able to get under me from behind or the side. The only time a sparrow should be under me, is when I am jumping over them. If I happen to land on them or they on me, then let the chips fall where they may. Should never ever be submarined by another sparrow. They should automatically crash or lose significant speed if they're gonna bury their nose that low. Also - open world sparrows - PVE. Give me back my speed. Since you changed the throttle characteristics to allow for SRL, sparrows in the open world are dead slow.. Yet again - PVP impedes PVE...

No more bumping how about just pass though everyone like your racing ghosts that would be fair and show who has the skill also fix the lag by runing it on d servers hate crossing the line first but somehow coming 4th.

They can "improve" it by removing it. It doesn't belong in this game. Let alone getting loot out of this event that I can't even get in a normal strike. That is just ridiculous. A stupid arcade game giving out better loot than the game itself does. That right there tells you where Bungies priorities are. Apparently this is now a racing game with micro transactions.

1 AntwortenI want the factions more involved in SRL, it seems a natural place for them. I also would want to see the physics on the sparrows tweaked so that you can bump and be bumped in a more consistent manner.

3 AntwortenIt would be nice if they added more bounties or just made it less of a grind I mean even if you got 1st place every time with a class item equipped, you would need 45 races to get from rank 2-3 or 42 with all bounties completed. That is a lot of circles around the same 2 tracks

5 AntwortenMake sparrow racing more racing, less bumper cars. It is frustrating beyond belief to be in 3rd or 4th place jockeying for position with other racers, only to have them RB or LB into you and then you get walled, and for all intents and purposes, YOU get taken out of the race whereas they still remain in the race. IMO they need to make it so that you can phase through your opponents while going the same direction, so that races are decided on racing/cornering/handling skill rather than whether or not you can take the competition out of the race (in plain english: rather than being an asshole). If they don't do this, then they need to make it so you can run into people when you are driving in reverse so that rather than having to finish the race in 5th or 6th, I can turn around and drive right for the guy that walled me and screw up his race too. As it stands now, people go right through you when you drive in the wrong way, but you bump each other when you're racing. Doesn't make sense to me.

Where is the trick count at the end of the race? Seems more important than gates hit. IMO.

Stop the sparrows getting caught on random bits of scenery. Ditching the sparrow should NEVER be the right thing to do. The damage effects appear very wonky. Sometimes you can bash the sparrow around without any effect, once I crashed, got a new sparrow and immediately blew up again. The blenders on Mars are also very random, sometimes they just push you around, sometimes they blow you up. Seems almost like there is a speed threshold after which all crashes are immediately fatal. Which would be fine if it wasn't so bipolar, crashing below that limit does basically nothing besides losing speed. Air tricks register very badly. If I need to have certain speed or not repeat the same trick, I need to know that. Not just have it randomly work or not work. Oh, and the enemies on the track? They're really not adding anything to it. Option to turn the comment track off. At least have it not repeat the same quips over and over again. More race types. Trick contests. Fix gate size lagging. Or drop the stupid gates altogether. If I wanted to play Mario Kart, I would be playing Mario Kart.

1 AntwortenI agree with allot of your points, but I feel like jade rabbit armor shouldn't be upgraded, rather it should roll out in phases like each time the event happens you can get a helm and class item (like this time), then maybe next time a arm, chest, or leg along with the class item again this will give you exclusive pieces of armor for each class type. So even if I'm a hunter or warlock in full jade rabbit gear I won't look too similar. Additionally it'll be smart on their part since it'll keep people coming each time the event rolls around. Also I agree they need to stop more than just horns dropping in the nightfall and they need to get rid of the ghosts again and weight faction exclusive items heavier so it's more likely to get a faction weapon just like you might in a faction level up.

1 AntwortenI agree with most of OP's ideas. Some more: - we need more maps badly!!!! They are fun the first say 20 times around but now they are boring. - game physics! The controls are wonderful but the physics of racing sparrows in game needs work. On several occasions I got myself literally stuck in a wall and the only way out was to jump off my sparrow and die. Rocks on the ground make you spin out and die. Sometimes the jump on Mars just puts you in the hole (you end up against the giant ring or sideways with no way to straighten out to land). Landings are okay...unless you land on s rock, then one of two things happen, the first is you blow up (rock one, sparrow zero) or you sit on the rock with speed going down to zero for a few second and you are now 6th place after being first because you wanted to balance on a rock...sigh. -personally I feel having guns on sparrows would be nice but it should be a separate game mode - not racing. Instead why not have grenades instead. That would be make more sense, this way we could customize our armour for either cool down or effect. This way you still keep the racing as a focus rather than who can shoot the guy in first the most. Armour with actual light levels besides just the helmet and class item (which still never once dropped for me)- yes we all want it especially for those who can't raid or the raid won't drop gear (yes bungie that is still an issue!!!)

I've really enjoyed SRL, it's been a nice change of pace to shooting things 24/7. The grind has been a bit annoying at times, but so was POE when that came out and I wanted a new ship lol. It's understandable that there's only two tracks at this point in time to see if people actually like SRL or think it's a bad idea. When it was first announced I half expected the races to take place in the patrol areas so straight off the bat I was impressed that these tracks are actual tracks with thought and design put into them. Props to that Bungie. I think my main thing is that I want to see more tracks if SRL returns. As someone else stated, the tunnels on the moon would be a brilliant one. I'd love to see a race on mercury, in the reef, maybe one along the length of the dreadnaught. The trick sparrows look nice and all, but I prefer the older design. It'd be cool as hell to be able to do tricks on those. On the topic of sparrows, customizable ones would be neat. Sparrow shaders could drop as rewards from matches, or bought from Holliday for reaching a certain rank. My only gripe is that I paid for the record book. Whilst it was fun to complete on my first character, when I came to do it on my 2nd and 3rd, the completion was already 100% and I could not obtain the gear. For the price and considering you can't just re-buy it (which you shouldn't have to do anyway) it's quite disappointing that $10 just went on one character. But yeah, overall it's been a fun event and if they bring it back with some really creative tracks I'm game for round 2.

1 AntwortenConsider adding super gates alongside the speed gates. These would charge charge your super ability that you could use to drastically change the flow of a race. This could add a combat element to the racing and force a choice between aiming for a speed gate and aiming for a super gate. The only way to get both a super gate and a speed gate would be if you were in last place and they were both expanded to overlap. (Obviously the controls would need a little tweaking to free up the super buttons, but I think it's possible). This could also open up new types of SRL events: Mayhem, Death-match (with no respawns), Team Death-match, etc. Examples: Gunslinger-- Fire the golden gun at those ahead of him. Bladedancer-- Arc blades coming from the side of the sparrow, to ram those beside him. Nightstalker-- Leave void traps to slow opponents. Voidwalker-- Fire a spread of nova bombs. Sunsinger-- Leave a trail of fire (like tron). Stormcaller-- An arc storm surrounds him, damaging those inside. Striker-- Sparrow leaps forward and causes a pulse of arc damage when it lands. Defender-- Deploy a bubble that knocks other sparrows out of the way and shields the wielder. Sunbreaker-- Throw hammers at opponents, leaving damaging sunspots.
