Light level = experience
Experience = How much time invested
How much time invested = skill
Light level = skill
Let me phrase it again, say you have someone who is new to the game and low light. Who will win in a 1v1 situation in crucible? Him, or the guy with 310 light and has experience with the game.
Don't be ignorant, realize that light does equal skill in some aspects. If you disagree you are butt hurt or ignorant to the fact that lower lights are statistically worse than higher or less skill.
Also, those saying time spent =/= skill you're also wrong. Malcolm Gladwell, well known author said if you spend 10,000 hours doing something you become an expert.
Those saying he is a nobody is clueless.
Edit 2: A quarter of you are intelligent enough to try and make a response. And no, collecting ghosts and watching videos does not equal skill. Sorry.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von II Nismo Joe II: 12/26/2015 11:01:07 PM
Light level = experience
Stopped reading at this point, light level simply determines how lucky you are, some xmas kid could come into this game, power level his character, get backpacked through the endgame content & be 300+ in a cpl days. The fact that you think it equates to experience just goes to prove that we arent going to have a retard shortage anytime soon.
-
Time invested does not mean skill, Time invested means experience to none of which have nothing to do with skill.

I disagree, light level does correlate skill in some cases, but not always. If you base skill on light level alone, you have a completely inaccurate measure of someone's skill. While I agree playing for hundreds/thousands of hours does make you an expert, there's just no getting around RNG. I'm 315(I think?) light level, this is about the average(I'd assume, I haven't played in about 2 months.) I've played around 380 hours (I know this doesn't even begin to compare to super dedicated players.) I consider myself above average in crucible (control is my shit when I'm not messing around for fun.) and I'm pretty good at PVE. My point is I have around 380 total hours played, while my friend has only 150(ish) and he is just luckier with drops than me. His light level is 319, he's played half the time, but gets much better drops than I do(usually), but I'm better at crucible and pve when it comes to raw skill. My stats may be lower based on light level, but my skill makes up for it. Here's a new chart(based on my opinion, feel free to disagree) Light level = time played multiplied by X X = RNG RNG = Completely random, no skill involved However, Grimoire Score = time playing destiny multiplied by A A = Time it took to accomplish some of the very specific challenges in raising grimoire score. I agree, light level has a role in it, but RNG makes using light level alone to gauge skill unpredictable. I see a 319 light level player, but have no idea the amount of hours they've spent on the game, and have no idea if they got that great gear over the course of just 3 weeks, vs waiting 3 months to drop, it could be either. However, I see a really high grimoire score and can safely assume (with a certain margin of error for a small number of players who hunt grimoire as if their lives depend on it and worry about nothing else) that this player has been playing for a long time, and even if not, they know what they're doing when it comes to playing the game. Just my opinion!

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von x Auto Pilot x: 12/23/2015 2:32:14 AM-Timmy Dipshit runs the raid twice and is showered in 320 gear. -Player Two runs the raid multiple time each week and seems to always get 310 gear. Light = RNG RNG ≠ Skill
-
Earning your level to light 310+ means you've dedicated enough time to this game to complete the end game content. That's what your light means in general. Just because you are 315+ doesn't make you better than anyone. That just means RNG has shit a golden egg on you.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von P3rfectEnemy: 12/26/2015 10:56:52 PMDumb comment. High grimoire, over 1k hours played, not near 320 because RNG and I have to work. So am I less skilled than a 300 hour 315? Raid KD and crucible KD are far more indicative of skill.
-
Im butthurt that I have higher light than you and I disagree with your entire post.
-
3 AntwortenSure. Let's let the guy w 2 warlocks and a 0.5 trials kd define skill
-
317 with a negative kdr. Yeah it definitely means skill
How much time invested=Skill
You, good sir, are a prime example of someone who has not experienced The world of destiny. If you truly have played the game since the beta, and have experienced the feeling of forever 29, then you would've known that level 29's can be better than some of the level 30s you meet. You, sir, are a joke
-
1 AntwortenI suck and I'm a 319. What do you have to say about that??
-
People can play a lot and still suck, and some can play for the first time ever and dominate, your post is invalid.
-
There are people who are far better skill wise after 100 hours than somebody else with 10,000 hours. If you don't believe me just look at how many so called "skilled veterans" can't get black spindle after 5 hours of trying. They play a lot and still aren't good at something done easily.
-
Except that experience does NOT make you skilled. It's makes you experienced. There is a difference and only someone who is young wouldn't be able to see that. I have a friend (who's a girl no less) who is MLG and would wipe the floor for 99.9% of his community with no experience at all. I have another friend who is disabled and can't work so he plays Destiny like it's his job and has for the past 1.5 years. He has over 30 days on THREE characters and is an even crucible player. Malcom Gladwell writes books and has never be a craftsman. He knows nothing of anything other than the skill he knows, writing. I've watched people who did the same job for 20 years screw up that job over and over. So no.
-
1 AntwortenI've play with 318+ that couldn't stay alive. Luck on drops is not skill.
-
Or.....people have three of the same character.
-
2 warlocks = noob

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Maurinho: 12/23/2015 11:27:42 AMnope, light level =/= skill light level = luck on drops i'm tired of those really high LL like 317+ that don't even know how to do the raid
-
How long have u played? Are you saying you are skillful? Your crucible k/d says otherwise. You can play this game as much as you want and still be absolute shit at it.
-
You can play this game all you want and still be shit at it. Trust me.
-
That's a retarded way at looking at it,when you started a new character did you not ever absolutely decimate the enemy as a level 6 player. Im sure everyone had a whole bunch more light than you,yet you bested everyone through sheer skill.I've got a friend right now whom is over 310 light(can't remember how much light he has exactly) but he is awful at both pvp and pve. His skill level is probobly on par with a potato even though he's A day one player with all the experience in the world. Sooo light does not equal skill and you're stupid to think it does
-
3 AntwortenLight does not equal skill, one can be carried through both the raids and trials to get high level gear, so basing skill off of light level can let you down.
-
Get 3 characters and over 100k medal score
-
Also, those saying time spent =/= skill you're also wrong. Malcolm Gladwell, well known author said if you spend 10,000 hours doing something you become an expert.
Obviously has never seen most of the CoD crowd .;)

1 AntwortenI think it depends on your definition of skill. To me, skill is aiming ability, evasion abilities, radar awareness, map awareness, communication. That being said, I don't believe time invested is equal to skill. Yes, you can increase your skill by playing a lot, but that's if you make a conscientious effort to do so. Some people play a lot and just get carried through everything with their fireteam. They still get the rewards and still increase their light, but that does not mean they are skilled players.

No dude. -blam!- off. Its pure luck. Its grim score scrub!
