If sniping is a skilled weapon, why can so many bad players with under a 1.0 kd do so well with any sniper? It's worse then thorn lol I'm not asking for a nerf but sniping has really lost its creditability at this point. Good snipers have no reason to comment. If you're good you understand the difference.

6 AntwortenIf your below 1kd and snipe then how is a crutch you walking logical fallacy?
-
Sniping isn't a crutch, it's just friggin everywhere. I wouldn't mind a change to snipers, maybe increasing the flinch so that people will have to actually be strategic with their sniping, not just aim down a doorway without fear of being challenged.
-
Just cuz they kill you with one doesnt mean they kill everyone else with it. If they are sitting back trying to snipe they are usually away from the big action.

4 AntwortenPersonally, I feel as though these 2 things are quite unrelated. Anyone can learn to be accurate with a gun. Anyone. You don't need to have a boss KD to land headshots with a sniper, you just need practice with a sniper. To have a good KD, you need to have a good understanding of how to play to achieve a good KD. Not necessarily great gun play. Anyone can learn to run into a crowded room and land 1 headshot before dying. Or wait in their favourite spot to get that sexy snipe between 2 trees while T Bagging. But someone with a little more experience and foresight will know how to clear that crowded room and turn the odds to their favour. Or constantly change their camping position to suit the way the game is playing out. They're my thoughts anyway.

5 AntwortenTh easiest fix is to have the sniper forced out of the scope if they are damaged while aiming.

Waiting on that sniper nerf, so many kids are gonna quit.

Your lack of abilities will not make you a better player. Keep crying, it's the only way you can improve.

4 AntwortenFlank the snipers man. I do it all the time.

I was using a sniper long before it became cool.

4 Antwortenapparently nothing takes "skill" in destinys pvp...go figure.
everything takes a certaint amount of skill/ skill set in this game
They'll be nerfed because people complain and it's the new meta. Meta = nerf

This post is making my hangover worse

I miss when shotguns and fusion rifles were good and sniping was fun/ skillful
-
They probably get a boost because they aren't running into the action anymore and getting pounded By nature of the weapon they hang back, which causes them to die less

3 AntwortenImagine there are 2 players of average skill. One is using a shotgun & one is using a sniper both using these special weapons as primaries. The guy using the shotgun is constantly rushing enemies & going 1 for 1 or getting killed before he gets close enough to kill the enemy. The guy with the sniper keeps setting himself up in the higher traffic lanes waiting for a target to pass his reticle. He misses about half his shots letting enemies get away & a lot of his kills are body shots. Naturally the sniper will end the match with a higher kd because he took less risks with his gunfights, while the shotgunner will end with a higher score because he was constantly engaging the enemies.

I like how you try to discredit anybody who comments as a bad sniper by saying they have no need to comment if they're good. Anyway, I'm not gonna say that sniping is particularly difficult, but bad snipers can't just use any sniper as you suggested. They need high aim assist sniper rifles to have any bit of consistent success. If they were running a 1k yard stare with Hidden Hand, they're gonna do substantially better than they would with a basic Eirene. It's really that simple. Anybody can walk down a high traffic area and set up a tent, and put the marker at head level with a high AA gun like the Stare. However, there's still skill involved with using guns with less aim assist especially in areas where you need be efficient because the traffic isn't as high, or the enemies are less obviously placed. And, before you ask, I definitely run a 1k yard stare with Hidden Hand. I'm no fan of shortgaze scope, so I don't use that. I prefer tacsys scope because it's better for longer distance engagements. However, I used to just whatever sniper rifle worked for me. I've been sniping since the beginning, and regardless of my gun choices today, my skill as a sniper has greatly improved since Vanilla Destiny when none of those stats made a difference to me or even existed in my mind. I just played with whatever rares I could get my hands on back then.

Special weapons are the problem, not snipers or shot guns. We get far too much ammo far too often

1 AntwortenIf they're below 1.0 then I don't think they're doing very well with it...

4 AntwortenAll it takes is one shot, everyone gets lucky here and there. Didn't you ever see that video of that infants no scope kill in the crucible...yeah it happens.

10 AntwortenWith how special ammo is distributed in PvP, I consider every special weapon a crutch, especially sniper rifles. You don't need skill to use them and everyone who snipes most likely uses a 1kYS, which has the most aim assist of all sniper rifles in the game. Then again, I'm probably one of the few people who realize that PvP is so -blam!-ed up and unbalanced that bitching about fixing things would literally do nothing. If you want balanced PvP, play Halo.

Not worse than Thorn but definitely a magnet for CoD loving kids.

4 Antworten
Coming from a guy thats been using high impact snipers since the LDR 5001. The main argument for "what takes more skill: snipers vs shotguns" is that snipers are harder to use because you have to land headshots. I just don't see it like that though. The truth is that snipers are so much safer to use. You can distance yourself where you cant be killed fast by the majority of meta weapons, you can pop in and out of cover and still get kills. Even if you miss, youre safe, the same cant be said about shotguns though. With shotguns, you have to put yourself at risk, either by pushing past the half way mark on the map, going into the other teams spawn, etc. You need to be agile and use your character's mobility. Its not easy to do. Sure, you can get one easy kill. But most of the time you end up trading, either with the guy you kill or you die by his teammate because you put yourself at risk. And in trials, trades are bad for the shotgun user, because they have to advance to get their close range shotgun kill, so the shotguns dead orb will usually be un-revivable whereas the orb that was killed by the shotgun will usually be on his teams own side, so it is usually revivable. With snipers, you can get one kill and safely walk away. And the fact that shotguns and fusion rifles aren't as good as they used to be, everyone is now sniping, and playing almost risk free. Pvp has mostly come down to a game of pop-in pop-out where whoever gets the first snipe has the advantage. The only risk you put yourself in is getting sniped by someone else. Playing that safe should not be so rewarding. This has nothing to do with high aim assist. As a sniper main I know nothing has changed about snipers since vanilla when it comes to aim assist. Im not "one of those guys." I genuinely believe the reason people have gotten so good at sniping recently is that everyone uses them now and we've gotten so much practice with them. Nothing to do with aim assist. All Im saying is shotguns and fusion rifles, and even sidearms need to be buffed so they get more usage. I actually liked the HoW meta better because shotguns were extremely good but still had that risk factor to them. They could still be stopped dead in their tracks or could be traded with. Nowadays its almost unsafe to walk around any corner because there is already a sniper aimed down it at head level. I find myself hitting down on the dpad to see around the corner in third person every time I get to a corner. Its not a good meta at all. Bring back shotguns and fusion rifles! Again, this is coming from a sniper main. Tl;dr Shotguns take a ton of awareness and use of your character's mobility and you have to put yourself at risk for every kill, but snipers are almost risk free to use. Shotguns didnt deserve to be nerfed and should be buffed along with fusions and sidearms to give them more usage.
Maybe they are bad players who learned to use snipers
