Lately I have seen A LOT of requirements for 315+ for raids.
Do people really think light level equals a players skill base?
I've seen some 290's run better raids than 315+ players.
Considering how your light lvl is really just luck and repetition of gameplay. At least in my opinion it is.

4 AntwortenNo. It's play hours. Max Lvl, lots of "play"

1 AntwortenNot really, i tried doing vault of glass with some 304's who didn't know what to do and kept getting killed

1 AntwortenI would love to see you attempt hm oryx at 290.

Bearbeitet von ShadowInsurgent: 12/19/2015 3:45:28 PMLight level doesn't mean skill... It means damage and survivability. There are people who have never ran the relic in VoG, The Sword in Crotas end and The Relic in Kings fall. They sit back and let others do all the work and get the same rewards as everybody else.

2 AntwortenNo. It equals time.

Bearbeitet von LittleAngryOne: 12/19/2015 3:31:35 PMYes 100%, KD and all those other stats mean nothing if the player has a low light level.
-
No. It means how much they've grinded.

Bearbeitet von BushidoK91: 12/19/2015 3:27:13 PMLight level very obviously has nothing to do with a person's ability. People are just -godwinslaw!- or they really believe that it does indeed = skill? I dunno

No. Really high Light level= RNG likes you. Hats it. For example, I've never gotten a primary that wasn't the auto rifle from hard oryx. I've never gotten a hard mode helmet or boots. I've never gotten a hard mode heavy. And it really frustrates me, because those 3 things are what's dragging my light down.

1 AntwortenYes of course. Just ask patt puff.

Nope. I've seen 310+ players that suck. I'm not saying I'm great, but those players were worse than me.
-
No, no it doesnt. Ive ran a good 300 light player all the way through hm. But, with things like pvp endgame and srl offering high light gear now. A lot of clueless non regular raiders have gotten high light, and are still failing hard at the raid. So its got those who assemble decent raid teams hiking up the light requirements to weed them out

Not necessarily, but flat damage increase does sometimes help more than someone who needs a whole mag for 1 thrall kill from level. Though it can be a vague guideline on skill/experience, as usually a higher level knows how to do things more times than a lower level does. Not saying all high levels are mlg elitists, but most of them they usually had to learn a thing or two to get there.

Bearbeitet von ZeroBlackHawk: 12/19/2015 2:59:26 PMNo, because some players might have been carried to achieve their light level. I played with players who have high light levels but they were horrible.

Not skill. Experience
-
Simple answer: No. Longer answer: A high light level suggests that the player knows how to play the game or has at least a rudimentary amount of experience. Because RNG is so lackluster, people can either get really lucky with their drops, or have to grind for weeks. So when people ask for 318+ players online, they're banking on the chance that the player knows the fight rather than just having insane luck.

5 AntwortenWith RNG, people farming grimoire, challenge mode, people getting carried, and sparrow racing, you will never know. Sparrow racing. Sparrow..... Racing Endgame gear

Light level = higher success rate , if you are a 319 chances are you are going to take more damage / do more damage and be less likely to mess up , and considering how many people above 315+ who didn't know how to do the normal strat at oryx it really sets the standards higher.

Not even a little.

Not that I'm aware of... But if that is the case then you're telling me that the higher my characters light lvl, the better I'm going to play? That sounds awesome but I can't believe how terrible I must've been when I restarted my hunter and made a warlock and Titan...

Its about damage output. I started hard raiding at 308. Held my own but now at 315 it goes a lot smoother.

Imo not really cause really good players can be amazing with low light gear if they want

lol skill xD
