Greetings fellow guardians, this is my first post.
I've been playing Destiny for a few months, but I still feel very new at it... and when I say that, I mean I don't have a flippin clue what the heck is going on half the time. I just know that it's very important to shoot things, usually in the face, repeatedly... and to spam the dancing emote upon every victory.
So, after going through the majority of the Taken King, I'm at that point where I can't seem to get light level past 293-294, and the creepy lady won't shut up about doing the Oryx raid. It's stuck in my quest page now... I don't know about the rest of this community, but when I have a unfinished quest just floating around, it starts driving me into sheer madness. So, here's what I need to ask:
Question #1. Sunbreaker or Defender? Which is really going to benefit the team more? Will people appreciate my wonderful glowing bubble? Or do they want me to set myself on fire and throw hammers at things? You tell me.
Side question: Also, Bungie, will it be possible for me to eventually have a disco ball summoned with my bubble? ... Maybe if I ask really nicely?
Question #2. Which guns should I bring to this fight? Is there any particular weapon I should be striving for? A certain scout rifle, sniper rifle, rocket launcher...? Or does it really just boil down to preference? I mean, if I join a raid with my little Conviction II sidearm, is that cool? Or are people going to look at me and be like, "Dear god, what is this man thinking? He is clearly insane."
Question: #3. Should I consider doing the other raids before this one? Would bullying Orxy's son first be a good way to get a feel for raids before attempting Oryx?
I'll be honest, after looking at various raid walkthroughs on YouTube... I got pretty cold feet about this. These raids look like a blast, but also kind of complex... as in, you really have to know what the heck you're doing, otherwise you might as well be taking a dump in the bathroom, while everyone else tries to finish without you. I don't want to be a party pooper though, so I'd appreciate any helpful feedback on how to get ready for this raid.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Phantom: 12/21/2015 8:00:40 PMDefenders are essential. Run weapons of light and have a hunter in your group with a tether and the damage on the bosses skyrockets. Snipers and scouts are what your load out should be for the entire raid. Snipers are generally more useful if they are high impact(1kys, black spindle, etc). Snipers with medium impact like still piercer or the antimony NM sniper work just as well. Machine guns are preferred but I've done just as well using my tracking rocket. The other raids wouldn't help since the mechanics of all of them are very different. And crota is just a glorified strike. Most of he mechanics in the oryx raid are fairly simple to pick up. From my experiences the left plate on warpriest is the easiest and the left plate closest to the door on oryx and daughters is what I always prefer to be on.

Honestly couldn't say I still haven't done the new raid

1 AntwortenI find it funny how you mention everything needed for the raid. This almost feels like very polite satire.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von What I Look Like: 12/18/2015 11:34:49 PMYou are an asset to this community! Seriously, thank you for not shitposting... That being said, no side arms lmao. So,I've got a single normal completion under my belt, but it was a breeze because I was 310 light. I did it with Red Death, Stillpiercer, and an LMG called Baron's Ambition. Scouts are viable options, as well. Snipers are a must as far as fights go, without question. It would be wise to practice with them as often as possible if you are not adept with them. You will preferably be shooting as fast as possible, and you'll have to manage recoil. Precision shots, indeed. Pay attention to your mates very closely when doing the various jumping instances, even if you lag back a bit. More to be said from a guy who is wise enough to watch how it's done and not wipe versus the guy who runs in first and dies 5 times lmao. Be ready to adapt, as boss fights can slightly mix up placement and for the last two there is never a static assigned position unless you are running relics or taking care of adds/ogres. Hope this helps.

what system..

4 AntwortenA good sniper and dragon's breath. And defender Titan is good, rotating bubbles with another defender is always awesome. Use the park that extends its duration on totems, and use illuminated on golgoroth.

Defender titan, good high impact sniper, good machine gun is a very useful setup

1 AntwortenHey! I don't have much advice but I'd like to extend a friendly welcome!

Bearbeitet von Naditu: 12/19/2015 5:47:54 PMCheck armsday this week for Eireen (sp) R44. It is competitive with 1k, depending on rolls. The Vendor 1k, has triple tap, which is where it is at. The same vendor also has Not Like The Others, which is a good alternative to the Hung Jury for scouts. It has a bit more stagger capability with Explosive Rounds. Subclass, definitely Defender, unless there is already a few Titans. Certain fights like Golgoroth can benefit from a Sunbreaker, for adds, if other Titans are already buffing the damage output of the group. Sunbreaker can also melee to debuff the target and increase damage output of the group, but that is highly situational.

1. Defender, Weapons of Light is great for damaging bosses, or even if you just have Blessing, it is helpful for extra defence. 2. Usually a High-Impact Sniper Rifle is great for the bosses, so you can do as much damage as possible. And Scout Rifles are usually a good idea as they can be a "mini-sniper" and do a decent amount of damage to the boss(es) 3. You don't really need to finish Crota before Oryx, it is just sticking with the Story line throughout.

2 AntwortenAnswer #1: Defender. Weapons of Light and Blessing of Light are both incredibly useful, especially with Illuminated. Not to mention that there are occasions where a Ward is useful all by itsself. Answer #2: Sniper Rifles are a must. The DPS output on a decent Sniper is better than most other options. I recommend using a high-impact Sniper, such as 1000yd Stare. Machine Guns are also really useful (I prefer Ruin Wake), as are most Pulse Rifles, most Scout Rifles, high stability and range Auto Rifles, and any Hand Cannon that you can reliably land shots at mid range with. Answer #3: The old raids are useful for building chemistry with a team, but very few strategies or approaches translate well from Vault of Glass or Crota's End to King's Fall. Sure, there are major similarities between Golgoroth and Atheon (which is the best comparison IMO), but Oracles and the Aegis are so different from Gazing and Pools that 90% of those encounters are almost nothing alike.

1 AntwortenYou should go do some sparrow racing, after rank 3 you start getting helmets and class items at the 310-320 mark, use these to infuse your current gear up a bit to help boost your light up.
-
2 AntwortenOh sorry you have to be 315+ or you can't raid lol
-
1 AntwortenPlay VOG first since you're super over leveled but is shows raid mechanics, then Crota, then get a decent sniper (for the love of god don't use a sidearm thousand yard stare is basically free from a quest)

Defender. Switch between blessing and weapons. Sniper. The single most important weapon. Any primary to start. No rockets. Heavy machine gun all the way. I'm on xb1. Gt same as name. If you need someone to hep you out feel free to hit me up. Good luck.
-
Defender . Sniper is most important The only thing the past raids will teach you is teamwork. The most important thing is to have at least 4 people who are willing to teach you .
-
1 AntwortenAs luck would have it, I am taking a dump in the bathroom. Sometimes . . . the planets just align . . .
-
Defender. Bring a high impact sniper and you should be good. Watch some YouTube videos on the raid to get an idea on how the mechanics work
-
If you're on ps4 send me a friend request cristooo_28 I've done the raid plenty of times and am willing to help

6 AntwortenAdd me bro I'll help

1) Defender 2)Vendor version of 1kys with NTTE or scout rifle and black hammer make this raid a breeze. If you don't have either loadout go with a high impact sniper, primary is up to you 3)this raid is so different than the others, so no

4 AntwortenI assume you're beginning to see a pattern here... Definitely Defender, preferably with Weapons of Light. You'll probably find that your team will have a plethora of Titans, so you may could go Sunbreaker until Warpriest just for orb generation. Also, max out everything that's agility & speed. Primary weapon is personal choice-I use Hung Jury, but that's because I prefer scout rifles. If you're on add clearing duty you may consider autorifles. You may not want to bring your trusty sidearm unless you enjoy being yelled at, lol. Sniper rifles are essential. I'd avoid rockets for heavy, with all of the Titans dropping bubbles unannounced. Guardian down! Old raids are fun, but you may have trouble finding a patient team to sherpa you. Good luck & have fun!

1 AntwortenDefender titan. High impact sniper like 1k stare and black spindle.i named those 2 first since solar damage on these weapons is helpful for those pesky wizards at totems and warpriest.sniping is key thruout the raid. The older raids are different no need really to play those although you should experience all of them especially VOG.
