So what the hell is this new requirement that I'm seeing for 318+ on the recruitment forums. Jeezus! I have a 319 and 318 so I don't have trouble getting into events but this is seriously out of hand. Couple of weeks ago it was 310 then 315 now 318 after this weeks challenge everyone will be required to be 320 for invites to challenges, raids, and possibly iron banner of this keeps up. I understand the loot is good but don't leave out the casuals that want to get this done too. I know 310's that die less in endgame than most random 318s. Is anyone else high light level like me that thinks this is kind of too much or am I just an old school player that is stuck in thinking bringing a 29 into a 32 raid isn't a big deal?

Edit: Trending and 99% good response wow didn't expect that.
Edit: to the people telling me to make a group, I have and generally do. I don't have problems making groups or joining being 319 318 and 316 (slacking on my warlock)
Edit: over 1300 responses and still trending on third day. I must have struck a nerve in our community. Keep up the great responses.

Bearbeitet von FancyCoffees: 12/17/2015 9:00:12 PMPeople can ask for whatever they want....im at 315 with hunter and titan and 312 with warlock...i play 1 character a week all i have time for......have zero issues staying alive, do i die 2 or three times in a raid? sometimes, other than when wiping from someone else...no one is flawlessing hard mode every time right now so expecting people not to die based on light is dumb...knowledge of task at hand and experience in the encounters is what is needed...my first hm oryx was a 308 warlock...no issues because of comunication, not saying thats a huge feat but still like some one said its easy to gripe over light when you some how have gotten amazing drops...and on to srl...say someone has totally taken advantage of the high drops from that event but they are terrible at the raid...but you'll take them in your group because they are 317-318...but yet they die and get kicked when a perfectly fine 312 plus could stay alive with no problem.....its simple you can gamble that a 318 is going to be good but thats all it is.... 3 of coins gaurdian light edition chance at a good player that stacks everytime you ditch one and find another...eventually a 318 will be good, same goes for 312 and up...

And i was happy with my 303 Warlock :/

1 AntwortenDont care, people are allowed to ask for people around their light level, its not uncalled for, its call not wasting time.

7 AntwortenI went away for like a month and a half because of fallout 4 and boredom. I came back fell back in love with destiny but do a hard mode cause I'm 309. I know what to do plus I'll listen to raid mates. As soon as I ask it's like NOPE. FOREVER 309

My only requirements when posting in LFG are. 310+ Black Spindle or ToM (ideally both) Headset No squeakers Asking for a specific Grimoire or light level above 315 is just plain ridiculous. I understand people want to get a raid done fast, but none of that is really relevant until Oryx fight. Me and a few pals carried through a 297 through the raid. We just gave him the jobs that would keep him alive ie add clearing in Warpriest, gaze on Golgoroth etc..... with good teamwork the raid is relatively easy.

3 AntwortenHere's my logic. I'll raid with a friend in hard mode as long as they're at least 308. When it comes to randoms and people I don't know I prefer them to be at least 314. When I'm trying to get it done I don't want to mess around with lower light players. I don't mind helping others when I have time and I'm in that mode. If it's the weekend, and some lower light people need help, I'll run the raid again with them. If it's during the week, say on Tuesday night, I don't want to have to explain everything and spend all night just running through it once. I typically get it done with all 3 characters in just a few hours. The hard raid has been out for a while and I'm past the point of having the patience to explain everything or wipe over and over again unless I'm already expecting that going into it.

Geez...calm down.. It's not like everyone is asking for 318+. If it bothers you so much then start up your own. I know it's not necessary to be 318+ and it's ridiculous what goes through the minds of these players but it's not effecting me, so.....yeah. Lol

4 AntwortenI'm 307 and missed the few weeks where that was ok and now I can't beat hard mode cus no one will take me :(
-
Sounds fair
-
This just in Bungie to nerf light levels because people seek it as a requirement on LFG.
-
4 AntwortenThat's crazy. When in my raid gear I am 318 light but that should not be a requirement. Is there even a difference in damage output from a 310-319?
-
The only thing is that i have is when i say 315+ i get people messaging me saying 311 but know what to do yet haven't completed it I send them a msg back saying 'can u read'
-
I will not play with people who impose light requirements like that, or other ridiculous requirements. I have run Oryx multiple times and my hunter is 314. I have never messed up jumping on sisters or oryx with my hunter unless someone on the platforms screwed up. Their loss if they think light level = experience.
-
I'm guessing it's different for most players. When I did Challenge mode I found a team that was at least 315+ because I wanted to get it done. Most of the time I do Sherpa raids and help out newer players in my groups but when it comes time for me to play the Raid for myself and my loot. I'm going to pick the best of the best. I don't thing anythings wrong with that. There are a TON of elitist asshats in the community but I would imagine a lot of these posts wouldn't represent that.

4 AntwortenBungie should reverse light levels. Everyone should start at 320 and the better you are the lower it will get .This way you would be able to have a mixed team playing the same level.
-
318 is a bit to much but for the challenge I can understand that people want experience player's for a smooth run add oryx. Apparently most of the casual players still can't do the last 2 parts of the raid.
-
I share the feeling. Generally I can understand ppl wanting quicker runs but requiring 318+ is just overkill. Personally I run anything in hm up to oryx (including challenges) with anyone 300+ and decent gear. Usually when we need a random to fill a spot in out raid team we don't worry too much abt the random being too high light. For oryx I prefer 311+ just because of the dmg reduction at lower levels than that. Heck I was 311 when I beat oryx too lol. I see those 318+ only groups on lfg and they are always looking for ppl. Better to not join them lol
-
Is funny cause I joined one of those groups but they sucked, then I joined a group with 313s (not that the light really made a difference) and beat it on my 2nd try
-
10 AntwortenGenerally speaking the higher the light level the more times that individual has completed the raid... Which means more experience and success ....
-
I totally agree its getting elitest im a 317/18 and i would have no problem helping or playing along side a lower charecter most of it is skill not level .
-
Probably because people at those high levels have done the raid enough to get there, so theyre less scrubby than your random 310 who sucks balls and cant hold down any position in oryx challenge. So yea, I can join those groups with ease and dont feel bad 1 bit
-
1 AntwortenThe way I see it is this; Ok if it's your lfg team or request, you can put what you want, but sometimes you can make yourself look like a complete muppet. I somehow managed to get in to a party with my 311 Titan. I wiped way less than the 315+s we had before we did it. High light doesn't always mean higher skill, it means more playtime generally. I have a job and a kid, I can't play 24/7. The worst recent lfg advert I saw was along the lines of 'Looking for very high light level players for Oryx Challenge (I am 319.8)' I mean who cares you are 319.8, I don't.. lol
-
Reason like this I never use Lfg anymore. Only raid with friends, their mistakes are more forgivable and don't have to worry about some backlash from some scruby sweaty tryhard
-
2 AntwortenYou know what's funny? Every time i make a post looking for people to join me in a raid or nightfall, without fail, some of the replies include their light level. I don't ever require a set light but think that i would pick a 314 over 297 fit the nightfall. It's first come, first join with me.
-
I'll play hard mode with anyone over 310+....but I did do the challenge mode 3 times every week and the smoothest run was with a group that all rocked 317+. We work so well together that we formed a regular Tuesday night group. When you're that high of a level it normally means you've put in work and you're a solid player. Which equal you not wasting my time.
