So what the hell is this new requirement that I'm seeing for 318+ on the recruitment forums. Jeezus! I have a 319 and 318 so I don't have trouble getting into events but this is seriously out of hand. Couple of weeks ago it was 310 then 315 now 318 after this weeks challenge everyone will be required to be 320 for invites to challenges, raids, and possibly iron banner of this keeps up. I understand the loot is good but don't leave out the casuals that want to get this done too. I know 310's that die less in endgame than most random 318s. Is anyone else high light level like me that thinks this is kind of too much or am I just an old school player that is stuck in thinking bringing a 29 into a 32 raid isn't a big deal?
#lightlevel #elitist #rantover #endgame #310livesmatter
Edit: Trending and 99% good response wow didn't expect that.
Edit: to the people telling me to make a group, I have and generally do. I don't have problems making groups or joining being 319 318 and 316 (slacking on my warlock)
Edit: over 1300 responses and still trending on third day. I must have struck a nerve in our community. Keep up the great responses.

13 AntwortenBearbeitet von John Strange: 12/18/2015 6:53:54 AMWhat about iron banner, trials silver/gold bounties, challenge mode, and srl? Challenge is guaranteed 320 and srl rank 3 is 310-320 gear. RNG aside, light level aside, you should have some gear from those events and if you run 3 guardians like most people I know, you should at least have 1 up to if not over 315 or you are infusing wrong. Granted I seem to get more exotic engrams than most of my raid buddies (to the point they are a bit jealous) but they get better raid gear. Hell, my most hated and last pick, the hunter is 319 and my other two are only 318. I just decrypted 30 exotic engrams (and have at least half a dozen more) and used 9/10 of them (all doubles or quads) to infuse random gear. I've got a side arm at 320 because why not and I was out of room. The majority of my raid team (4 main and 18 total ) are either in school or full time parents. 2 of them are EMT/Paramedics/Firefighters. We obviously can't all raid together but we can break into teams and we (almost all) do the raid 4-7 times a week to help the others. If you post an ad looking for a babysitter for example, you ask for references, you have an age requirement, you have certain standards right? So you ask for a 17 year old to babysit, does that mean a 16 year old is incompetent or incapable to do the same job if not better? No, but it is a standard that you set because you have to start somewhere. The same goes for jobs, careers, and etc in life. Why does saying "Must have mic, must communicate, and must be 315 piss so many people off? TTK dropped over 3 months ago. Hard rade dropped 2 months ago. Trials dropped 2 months ago. Iron banner 2 with fixed gear dropped a month ago, challenge mode dropped 3 weeks ago, and SRL dropped 1.5 weeks ago. RNG aside as well as the dumb answers given here, how can you not be at least 315? Iron banner and SRL drop a min of 310 to a max of 320 gear and challenge mode is a guaranteed 320. The majority of the players outside of the SALTY pvp TRASH players who can't hack PVE said "I have a life", "Other games exist", and "Blah blah blah" so that means you COULD have but you CHOSE NOT to. Why would I or anyone want someone like that on our team? Why would I want to waste MY time carrying someone who spent THEIR time some place else when I can request a few things and get the raid done in 45 mins instead of 10 hours? That's like asking me to help you move and then sitting on your ass and expecting me to load your truck because "you have a busy life and need to take care of it but expect me to put things on hold and do all the work for you" NO! I won't do it! And I especially LOVE the trial twits who come in with their flawless emblem (that they likely also got carried, paid, begged, or stalked streamers for (including their crappy gear they infused just to get that light) and then they die and fail over and over because they are TRASH. The same salt cry babies SCREAMING to nerf this and nerf that. Nerf the titan but Please Titan, PROTECT me during the warpriest, aid me during golgoroth, save the day during the no knight strat at oryx....TRASH. Go back to PVP and measure yourself and your KD there SCRUB! For the non pvp guys, play more. Nothing in life is given to you and you don't expect to become a doctor or lawyer without spending a lot of time and practice getting there. I know, I know "but rng" well guess what? Ever take a test and nothing you studied for was on it? All that work for nothing? Yea sure the raid can be brutal (no rewards, lowest rewards) and etc but half of the SALTY people here ADMIT they are not doing the raid WEEKLY and from looking at their stats, they haven't even done it a dozen times. Hell, not even HALF a dozen times. They expect instant gratification and that won't happen in Destiny, it sucks but again, by this time 315 is not that hard IF Y O U put work into it. Raid one 45 mins, two 45 mins, 3, 45 mins. Iron banner daily bounties each day maybe 1 hour (once a month) and by Sat you should have at least 1 or 3 guardians to lvl 5. Trials, 1 hour each day. SRL, just do bounties on 1 guardian and then an hour a day (first time this is here) so raid 1:45 trials we will say 2 hours per day for a total of 9 hours (account for swapping gear and etc) per week. That is 1.3 hours a day. Too busy for an hour a day? Play 2 one day and none another. Add IB one week out of the month or who knows with srl and yea you are looking at about 3 hours a day. If that is too much you can still do just 1 guardian. Or watch tv less, shower faster, eat faster, cook faster, don't make/stop for coffee, don't go out to eat, or I don't know, learn to manage YOUR time better instead of expecting US to carry you because you had "better things to do" (like buying coffee for 20 mins each day or watching the walking dead each week)

2 AntwortenLmao this is why I give up on people Yall gotta find royal people I still raid with 310 people like its nothing.
-
6 AntwortenHigh light level = skill Don't like the requirements? Don't play with those people
-
I don't have too much of an issue with people asking for requirements but I will have an issue if: 1. He's requirements are unreasonable (318+ light level etc) 2. He's an elitist arsehole about it (if your a scrub you get kicked lololol) 3. And most of all, if he himself, doesn't meet the requirements. We should all just make an agreement to ignore these sort of posts and not play with these guys.

Seriously 318+? That's super ridiculous
-
Bearbeitet von Redacted: 12/18/2015 7:25:46 PMTBH, I've had more issues raiding with a fireteam of all 315+ than a fireteam with people around 310. I have no problems with inviting people less than 310 for a Heroic raid as long as they're willing to listen and take constructive criticism when they mess up. Higher light levels don't seem to respond as well to constructive criticism, even if they are the one who keeps screwing it up for the rest of the team. First time I did the Heroic KF raid on this account, I was 304 at Oryx. By the time we finished, I was one of the 4 who was left standing. The two that died first were the highest light levels in the fireteam. Light level is over-rated, while skill is under-rated in this game.

If you can stay alive and hold your who cares some just arnt blessed by rng, i got gally from crota 3 weeks before xur sold it lol but still bought a spare
-
Saw a 302 ask for a 318+ party for hard raid. Literally threw my phone across the room.
-
Start your own LFG post or join the ones without stupid requirements.
-
5 AntwortenDid Warpriest and Golgoroth challenge as a 298 because I forgot to unequip my Y1 Bones. Anyone asking for 318+ are scrubs.

1 AntwortenThe destiny community has always had a problem with elitism. It gets worse around new releases and then calms down later. I think they are the minority not the majority. Im not even 300 and I have friends that are willing to take the time to show be the raids. Ive had friends get a fire team together of all people that didnt know what they were doing and were not max level on purpose to teach them. You just have to not be 'that guy' and eventually we can change the destiny culture from elitism to helpful and fun.

Bearbeitet von JackTheRipperRoo : 12/18/2015 4:54:42 PMIt really annoyed to me Last week we do king fall on hard from start to daughter one player say you need 315+ but i only stuck to 311 so i get kicked It waste time Sorry for bad grammar
-
5 AntwortenIt's because people think High Level Gear = Skill
-
2 AntwortenI ask for whatever Light level my character is im playing, so either 318 or 319+ :)
-
1 AntwortenMust have gally.
-
I think it's ridiculous to but people will be assholes and there's nothing we can do about it
-
I just cleared hard mode through golgoroth and the exotic chest as a 301 before I had to leave. No one really needs 318+.
-
2 AntwortenLast week for golgoroth challenge I did it with two people who were 307 light. We did it once and asked if anyone wanted to do it on another character. 2 people said they couldn't because they were only 307. The group decided it wasn't a problem and we did it with 2 307's. I understand it's not Oryx but the point is still valid. There is no reason you should HAVE to be any higher than 311. Even then if they are capable that isn't necessary
-
1 AntwortenBecause I try to be fair: Light Level can be seen (incorrectly) as an indicator of skill. If you have invested the time to get 315+ Light on a character, presumably you know how to use said character in the activities which give out loot which raise your Light to that point. Also, presumably, if you have the loot which comes from an activity, you are familiar with the mechanics of that activity and thus do not need it explained in exacting detail while we wipe a few times so you can get used to the timing. Presumably. In reality, co-ordination, co-munication and co-operation are vastly more important then someone being 318+. I would rather take a group of 310s which actually know how to play the -blam!-ing game over someone who sat on a pillar doing jack-all and got carried to 318 via no knight strat. So: just to be clear; there are very small, slightly justifiable (in theory) reasons for that requirement.

Bearbeitet von iDare2Defy: 12/18/2015 2:52:29 PMFreakin RNG plays a huge role in this crap. My highest character is only 318 because I can't get bloody chest plates over 311-313. It's stupid. But I'm probably one of the best players you'll find. So light level means nothing to me. It's skill that matters. And all those groups that demand high light levels.probably just suck. They should be demanding experience over anything else.
-
2 AntwortenYes and no. I ran Oryx last night as a 311, others were 315-317. at 16 bombs we actually didn't take him down, not enough DPS. We tried and tried, but just not quite enough. I can understand the 318 thing, I'm sure it makes a difference, but only on Oryx himself.
-
321+ or GTFO
-
The hard raid is actually easy at 310. You don't need Tom or bs. Some people are just too insecure
-
Only requirement I ever ask is 310+ for hm oryx. And that's a loose requirement. If you're doing your job and consistently staying alive idgaf if you're 300 tbh
-
The most important thing is having good communication and experience, not light level.
-
Its probably the people who has been carried
