I gripe a lot on these forums, so I think it's only fair that I also sound off when something good happens: and I think that Bungie got a lot of things right with this balance patch. Did it fix everything that needs fixing? No. Did it do enough to buff underpowered weapons? No. But what it nerfed, it nerfed pretty much exactly as it should have.
1. Sunbreakers: I use them. I love the super, and I have been thrilled to have a good ranged option... but I think that the nerf is completely fair. It now requires a measure of skill to pull off a long-range hammer throw, and the armor is reasonable enough that a skilled player has a moderate chance of shutting me down. The balance seems good to me.
2. Shotguns: Again, I use them. I was afraid that the patch would make them irrelevant, but that simply isn't the case... I just can't snipe with them any more, and that seems fair.
3. Pulse Rifles: I loved my Adept Messenger back in the day, and I love my Red Death... but the fact that an auto rifle now has a chance against me at medium range is a welcome challenge. I've been salty as all get out to be hosed down by low-impact auto-rifles recently, don't get me wrong... but it's a problem with my strategy, not with the balance. It's perfectly reasonable that the new balance makes me think about my engagement range and pick my battles.
I want to keep this post positive (on my end, anyway... y'all can yell all you want in the comments), so I'll only say, on the side of further "suggestions" that I think hand cannons and fusion rifles could use some additional love in upcoming patches. Right now, in an even firefight, both of these weapon classes (with the exception of niche standouts like last word or plan c) under-perform.

Your positive outlook is refreshing. I agree there were more things that Bungie got right than wrong in the last update. Does that mean it's perfect? No, as balance shifts other problems have emerged, but we shouldn't ignore the positive.

1 AntwortenNo it didn't Like at all You can't be serious

9 Antwortenit would be good if 1-TLW had its ADS normalized to be like all other handcannons, while keeping its superior hipfire. 2-snipers need a slight re-design as at the moment they are severely more powerful then shotgun/fusion in all game modes and maps. 3-fusion rifles need a buff pulses as far as pvp goes, are ok, handcannons are ok in general (TLW not withstanding), scouts are ok, AR's need a buff. sidearms are ok, shotguns MAY be ok, fusion rifles need a buff, snipers need some changes. heavies /shrug.

12 AntwortenLast time I checked shotguns were never snipers and always needed buffed but since 95% of the destiny player base and everyone at bungie are mentally handicapped they continue to nerf them making them more and more useless and this recent nerf has made them completely unusable

2 AntwortenFusions need buffed, hand cannons/autos need a slight buff, rockets need buffed, side arms need buffed, shotguns need 50% of the nerf reversed
-
Bump to this man
-
agreed. They did a fair job. They just dropped the ball on fusions a little, imo. The scatter and recoil is just a bit much.
-
Try a fusion rifle, they pretty much unusable now.
-
1 AntwortenBump. I think the meta is closer to balanced than it has been in a long time
-
You forgot to mention that shotguns can one shot kill at greater range than fusion rifles. Seriously I traded with a shotgun (it was conspiracy theory D) and I hit him with Ashraven's Flight (with rangefinder perk) at just outside melee range. I died, he ran off with a sliver of health. Fusion rifles are still broke.

8 AntwortenLol you call that an auto rifle buff?! Ha! Dude you're pure fûcking comedy. This patch has been the shittiest patch, even shittier than the thorn buff.
-
17 AntwortenTO EVERYONE IN THIS POST, IF YOU HAVE A NEGATIVE KD OR EVEN A 1 KD, YOU DONT GET TO DETERMINE WHAT IS OR IS NOT BALANCED YOU WHINY PIECES OF SHIT.
-
People are still sniping with party crasher and conspiracy theory d... Also they should have added more flinching towards snipers
-
3 Antwortenhahaha :D you're joking rigjt? nearly every pvp match: last word + 1000 yard of aim assist sadly the only weapons to be competitive with. maybe hawksaw ...
-
1 AntwortenThey didn't get anything right you -blam!-ing dumbass

1 AntwortenGreat feedback. Feel the same way (since day one I mainly used pulse rifles, they were ok in vanilla, then got overbuffed, turning them into a crutch, but now they're back to the state they were at before they got buffed). I'm using different types of weapons now.

6 AntwortenWhoah fusion rifle are pretty bad, auto rifle didn't even get the damage buff.
-
2 AntwortenDark blades spite is still amazing
-
6 AntwortenDoes Plan C work well? I haven't even tried it was so disgusted with how my other fusion worked.
-
2 AntwortenBull Shit! Crucible is now just TLW & Snipers.
-
RIP Fusion rifles.

Frankly, I agree. I hardly notice any pulse rifle change. I don't and have never like shotties. The Titan is now a bit more normal. The only complaint? Fusions are a bit messed up. Although still killing machines close.
