Do you think that evolution should be taught to public school children? Why/Why not?
(My opinion, most definitely yes)

2 AntwortenNatural selection will cull the 24%.

How people deny evolution is ludicrous to me lol i can't even wrap my head around it.

Funny thing about facts...they do not require, nor do they care about wether or not you believe...

39 AntwortenEvolution has a lot of flaws so it should not be taught as 100% truth.
some flaws are 1) why did evolution just stop and why don't we see monkeys Turing into people now? 2) Why are there no fossils of the "missing links" if evolution was 100% true there should be lots of these fossils around because the in between stages are said to have taken so long? The list goes on but I don't have enough time to write each reason.
If anything they should teach multiple ways the earth was created because let's face it nobody was here when the earth was formed so we can't know for sure.

13 AntwortenThe idea that this is even a question speaks volumes about the scientific literacy of our society.

Bearbeitet von Vicex: 12/17/2015 12:41:24 PMThe lack of knowledge on the topic in this thread alone is enough proof to suggest we need compulsory education of evolution world wide.

8 AntwortenI wouldn't won't my kid being brainwashed with this "macro-evolution" crap. That theory has so many gray areas it's ridiculous.
-
Should be a choice, not forced, either way.
-
6 AntwortenDarwin stated if we don't see evolution in 100 years my theory is wrong. We have not evolved. Hint evolution is wrong

5 AntwortenHow about we don't teach anything other than math, English, reading/writing skills, history, and basic science (example elements and reactions when mixing elements). Then have a bunch of other topics that are electives that the parents choose from.

3 AntwortenI believe in both christianity, and evolution. You don't take the bible literally most of the time.
-
3 AntwortenWho doesn't? Like really?

52 AntwortenUntil I see a macroevolution happens in my lifetime, I refuse to believe evolution is a thing. I believe in microevolution, that happens quite a bit. But evolution overall doesn't make sense to me because there is no macroevolution

Having to ask causes me to lose faith in humanity.

2 AntwortenIn Australia, evolution is covered in 8th to 10th grade. NATION WIDE! even in religious schools
-
2 AntwortenSince there's no definitive proof for macroevolution then no I don't believe in it and I don't think it should be taught.

4 AntwortenSo evolution is science but doesn't have a single proof? I call bullshit.

1 AntwortenWhat's the nicest way I can put this? ... Anyone who says no does not deserve to have an opinion. The atoms in their bodies have been wasted. The world will be a better place when they are dead and forgotten.

16 AntwortenWell natural selection, yes. We came from apes? Nah.
-
15 AntwortenMy school unfortunately already considers it fact. I've seen three kids suspended on the grounds of "disrespecting the teacher" by saying they didn't believe in evolution. Ladies and gentlemen the public education system.
-
13 AntwortenBearbeitet von mrhal: 12/15/2015 11:13:48 PMNo it shouldn't the taught in schools because people should be able to believe in what they want, no matter how stupid you may think it is. They shouldn't be forced to learn something that has not been fully scientifically proven and they don't believe in.

Regardless of real or not the idea of education is to teach you about things you may not necessarily agree with
