It's that time of year again, Lizard squad is going to ruin a lot of Christmas' for players, but with that said, we'll be welcoming with open arms, many holiday noobs.
It's during this time we should reflect on the stupid shit we've done, and how we've grown since then.
When I first started, I thought motes of light were incredibly tough to get, so they must be extremely valuable, and I tried not to use them for months. I kept waiting until the Speaker had a cool piece of gear to get..but that never happened. After 6 months, I probably had like 30.
Yup..
When doing linear strikes, I would constantly get lost. Especially on Sepkis Prime.
I was dumbfounded by the Nightfall blue flame. I thought they were employees or admins.
I kept (see: hoarded) green weapons, because I thought they might be useful.
My first exotic was Plan C, after getting one or two more, I kept them all--thinking they had different stat rolls.
I thought heavy weapon synths were a scam.
I thought buying an engram was a waste, especially a yellow one that was random.
As a Warlock, I only wanted gear that had high strength, intellect wasn't important.
I didn't finish the VoG until a week after CE dropped.
I would constantly bring my fire team back to orbit by accident.
I thought that proximity chat was a thing, and that no one had mics, and that's why they couldn't talk.
For whatever reason I went to patrol..a lot, rather than doing story missions, thinking I'd level up faster.
When a public event happened, I got super excited and thought I was witnessing something incredibly rare.
And there you have it, some things that I did as a noob. It's good to reflect on where you've come from. We need to realize not everyone will know the mechanics of a strike, or know the best way to level up. Take advantage of the refer a friend program, be the guiding light for another Guardian.
Edit 1: If you're on PS4 and ever need help, my Bungie name is my PSN ID.
I'm glad to see people having fun with this topic.

I hated the hunter class with a passion and thought it was unusable.(I main a warlock)

1 AntwortenPassing ghorn when it was first sold "because who'd waste their exotic slot on a heavy?" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also I got my vex from shoving. was the first and only time I ever did hard. I know I know. for shame. v .v

1 AntwortenI didn't buy Gjallahorn because I didn't want a rocket launcher, and thought I'd get something better with my strange coins. I also didn't buy Red Death because I thought pulse rifles were bad....I just now got Red Death to drop this week :) I thought exotics were unique and Rare, that people with them had truly earned them. I was an idiot haha

Loot cave

I was going to make multiple characters but I deleted a bunch of exotics because it wasnt for my class.

I kept trying to kill the hallowed hive underneath the steps when I first started. It took forever for me to realize that I couldn't hurt them.

1 AntwortenLook at the roll I got on my found verdict!

The big one for me was in patrol. It was months before I figured out that the patrol missions had symbols that told you what each one was. I honestly was amazed at the luck my friends had as they always seemed to get "kill enemies" or "collect item" missions whereas I got "target" or "find location" ones........

I didn't start using my super until around when I first got to Venus. I didn't think it was important.

The Last Word can be fired full auto. And that SUROS Regime has a compass on it.

Bearbeitet von Kielbasa: 12/13/2015 7:19:31 PMI kept challenging the enemies in the grottos to try and get into the cave. I didn't know there was another way. Also thought I would get more xp if I killed higher level enemies like any other mmo so I spent two hours dieing and killing hive in the rocket yard.

Dismantling exotics in year one that I thought were useless...

3 Antworten-Tried to pick up the glimmer from majors -Didn't know the difference between vog and the black garden -couldn't use fusion rifles, because even when I taped the trigger while standing right in front of an enemy, they did no damage. -Almost crapped my pants the first time I ran into thralls or stealth vandals -was extremely scared of captains and wizards because they took so long to kill -wondered where I could a golden gun, because it always killed me in crucible (I mained a warlock)
-
Hmm, the dumbest thing i did was try to 2man vog. I also remember my first exotic being ghorn. I waa disappointed that it was a stupid rocket launcher and not a primary.
-
3 AntwortenFirst time Xur sold gjallarhorn I bought the lucky raspberry instead because everyone in my group had exotic gear but me.

It took me some time to realize that ammo dropping on my screen, isn't dropping for anyone else lol.

Not knowing that blue and better engrams would go to the postmaster.

Bearbeitet von A Tigerstorm: 12/13/2015 6:15:00 PMI used my fist of havoc into the hellmouth and didn't realize it would kill me.

Took me a really long time to figure out you could cancel your jump by pressing A again... Like months

Thinking that others could pick up engrams
