think about the way other games do micro transactions and DLC's. think about how bungie decided to basically say "hey, this money we're getting is going to fund future events! and DLC!" but this isn't even real content nor is it even remotely close to DLC. This is stuff they had all drawn up and ready to go already and time gated and put on a schedule to make you think they actually put work into coding all of these experiences for you. what bungie did was promise us real content but what they actually gave us were empty promises. like waking up on Christmas morning to getting a few pairs of socks from santa. and then you go to school the next day and realize Santa loves rich kids a whole lot more than he loves you.
the reality of the situation is that most other games use money from the one time purchase of a season pass to fund years of content. look at titles like fallout 4 (bethesda said they'd be funding the next two two years worth of fallout 4 DLC with the money from their $30 season passes) , ESO, GTA V (completely free DLC), Battlefield 4, etc. the list goes on and on.
what could possibly make the situation worse? this content which we are paying way more than we should be for is actually being hidden behind a pay wall. there should be no pay wall. anybody from year 1 who owns TTK has paid at least $100 to play this game for the last year. a single year!even the most widely known money Grubbing company (EA) doesn't take things this far guys. wake up. they do micro transactions too, but at least most of the stuff they sell, you can earn though just playing the game (like fifa coins, packs, etc.).
TLDR: we, as gamers, need to wake up to this corporate tomfoolery and stop being taken advantage of. stop throwing your money away because it's hurting this game more and more each day. maybe you don't think it's being wasted, but it's definitely not being put to good use. and you could get more bang from your buck doing other things with the money you're throwing at a screen with a picture of destiny on it. how do you do this you ask? don't pre-order destiny 2 or any paid DLC! and don't immediately buy it after release. wait a few days first and see what other people think of it. make informed purchases. and the problem will eventually get better.

5 AntwortenDon't forget, this is an online only game and they are not charging a monthly subscription! Used to love WOW but the monthly fee for a player who could only play a couple times a week was outrageous! Passed on EOS since they had originally planned on making it subscription based. I did buy it thought after they decided to wave the subscription. My only issue with Bungie, is their consistent nerfs and limited world exploration. Some people forget, these "Online" games have a HUGE expensive infrastructure! There is a shit ton of hardware behind Destiny that needs to stay covered!

1 AntwortenYou know what's funny?
EA doesn't develop the games
-
EA isn't the developer, but rather the publisher of their games. Just like activision. Don't hate Bungie, don't hate DICE, hate their cash grabbing corporate commanders.

Requesting shorter TL;DR

4 AntwortenAll these people bitching, and I'm here having fun killing Oryx.

3 AntwortenI didn't buy ttk, i was wonderi g if it would be worth it, after reading a lot on here today ive decided to not bother buying it. I cant back a game with mobile gaming business tactics i just cant.

At the start of destiny it looked very promising, until we beat the story. Then with the dark below things got shitty. House of wolves revived the game a little bit PoE was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. And with TTK it was fun for the first 2 weeks, and now it's dead. Challenge mode isn't hard at all and I didn't even want to start TTK on my hunter and God the rewards for the raid. The only trials weapons that are good are the pulse and scout rifles, so it's not that worth it. Nightfalls give shit for rewards. The DLCS brought everyone back for a few months. But I don't think destiny could ever last 10 years Oh and by the way
THIS IS JUSTICE, THIS IS BDOBBINSFTW!!!!
Any game that is pay to win or "buy experience" I skip. Stop playing battlefield for this reason.
-
4 AntwortenBattlefield Gta Eso FIFA Madden Nhl Nba (ea & 2k) Pro Evo soccer Hell, even Skylanders All pay to win imo. Destiny isn't the best, or the worst with these micro transactions. They are just a 'thing' in gaming. Do I like them? No! Will I buy a Record book when I'm just planning my on grinding a few races for light level? Hell no! Would I throw money at the screen for a new raid, strike or multiplayer map? Yeah I would.

Still has more content than Battlefront *EA

EA is a publisher. Bungie is a developer. Activision is a publisher.

Your TLDR is too long and I didn't read it.

That's capitalism man get use to it

3 AntwortenI love it how people think we're being fooled into buying emotes etc. No one buys them not knowing what they're getting. This is another millennial rant. GTA had micro transactions, that is why the dlc is free.
-
3 AntwortenConcise - look it up.
Also, know the difference between s publisher and developer.

Also, activision is close but not at the level of EA in terms of both screwing over and disappointing loyal fan bases.
Destiny has optional items to purchase most ea games are pay to play
-
EA isn't a developer, they're publishers.

1 AntwortenSo free content every month with the option to purchase items against dlc the you have to buy to play. I don't understand the money grabbing you are talking about. They could have done srl as a small expansion that costs $5 from ps store.
-
2 AntwortenBearbeitet von FearNoFsh: 12/12/2015 4:56:19 PMSorry to say but just so you know they never once said it would fund DLC. Activision is the one pulling the money strings, and they are the ones attempting to dethrone EA for worst company

9 AntwortenActivision* they call the shots and they are the Satan of gaming.
-
Bungie is pulling some bullshit, but they aren't quite on EA's level yet.
-
12 Antworteni do love how people defend bungie, it actually makes me laugh. keep dancing morons.

I'd rather shave my arse crack hair than play destiny....

EA don't develope games. Big difference between developers and publishers. Bungie are a team of developers that have destiny released/financed via activision. I honestly thought activision was going to get somewhat better after blizzard took over ...
