My sparrow is slow. My speed is maxed at 95-96 with it being 125 after hitting a gate. My friend says that his initial speed is 125 before he hits the gates. I get left behind by everyone. I can't even place a time. What am I doing wrong? In one race I hit 66 gates and didn't even place, yet first place only hit 58 and made first place.

1 AntwortenYou know there are different type of sparrows out there? Not all having the same boost amount? I have 4 legendary sparrows, only 2 have 160 boost, the others are 150 or less. And you can gain much time using the best routes ;-)

1 AntwortenI never miss the gates and always use the overdrive in a smart way to avoid being blowned up and still always last.

Do you have the Veteran's Tour Sparrow, the S-34 Ravensteel? That has a better boost than all of the sparrows I've seen so far. Alternatively, if you did the Red Bull quest (Make The Vanguard Smile), the SR-0 Swiftriver is also a good sparrow (and a trick sparrow at that). When going into corners and trying to hit the gates, use the left and right bumpers to quickly move side to side. It can also be used to side swipe enemies on the course. And, ah, your fellow riders. Just saying.

Hold down L1 constantly. Overdrive is not a booster it is just the accelerator. Tips: When the race starts do not hit overdrive hold the drive stick forward and once your sparrow moves hold down overdrive so that you get the initial boost like effect. Ease off the Overdrive when cornering but otherwise hold it down.

11 AntwortenBecause you're bad at racing maybe? Isn't that complicated dude.

6 AntwortenHi roman_emp85, We are aware that players using Hair Trigger features on controllers are not able to initiate a full Sparrow boost. If possible, please disable this feature.
-
1 AntwortenThe least intrusive (they are all a pain) is to go into your settings for your controller and push 'square' to move the boost/brake (aim/fire) off of the triggers and on to the bumpers. It sucks learning the new controls, but seems to work. Hopefully at some point Bungie will admit they blam-ed up the update and get around to acknowledging this issue. The problem is it does not affect all PS4 systems, I have two one is fine, the other is not.

Aftermarket triggers or other mod on controller?

3 AntwortenAre you using a Hair Trigger on your controller? If so, Disable it. You're not reaching max speed using HT

Your sparrow is too slow. Mine has speed of 160. Amanda sells some thatre faster from time to time. And Xur sells upgrades.

11 AntwortenI think the only really good sparrows are the ones you can buy from Tess. They may be expensive but this is what helps bungie make future DLC.

I see the same stuff happen. For example, I'll be in a straight area of track, hitting gates, then someone will rocket past me. We're using the same Sparrow, with the same top speed hitting the same gates, yet I'm getting left behind. How does that make sense?
-
1 AntwortenI seem to be having a similar issue. Nearly every race I've been in over the last several hours has ended with one guy finishing 10-12 second before anyone else. I've "run my lines" perfectly, hit damn near every gate and never crashed or slowed down but these guys still just keep pulling away. It makes no sense at all. Nearly all day I've been racing and getting top 3. Last few hours, though, I struggle to get 3rd.
-
Because you are genuinely bad at the game ;)
-
I'm the same. I'm 6th place before the first gate and never see anyone else on the track again. I did finish 3rd once because 2 people left or got kicked and one looked to be AFK. :p
-
Haha my very first race I got first place. All I did was race like I do with any other game. Taking lines takes priority over getting gates. If gate is close to your line then take it. I missed more gates then most racers yet still got first. Riddle me that

By missing gates, you reduce your max speed. It doesnt matter where you miss the gates, bit with anymire than two missed in a row, then you get a massive lack of speed. Also what sparrows where you and your friend using?
