That's what I thought to, but once you play with it you'll change your mind. It's basically headseeker on steriods, allows you to 3 shot an guardian if 2 of the shots are body shots, and allows you to pump out infinite boss damage in PvE. Plus the scope is really clean and highlights enemies, and is surprisingly easy to use in close range despite have so much zoom.
