What do you use to figure out that a person is not under 18? Do you have a copy of their birth certificate on hand? It's so stupid, I understand playing with "kids" is annoying. But the first time I beat the raid on hard i was the only one over the age of 18 and didn't complain once. Seriously grow up and just have fun with the game.

4 Antwortenanyone not born in the 80s or 90s are completely trash. the youth these days are a disgrace

1 AntwortenFunny because the game is rated T. Unless your in the UK. Then it's rated 16 and up.
-
Consider this...It could be out of courtesy for YOU. When running with an older crowd (18+), I don't worry too much about my language and speak more freely. If you claim to be of that age and are really 13 (just a random age), playing with your TV speakers on, and your parents hear the side bar conversations...you could have some explaining to do, or worse. Do you really want the parents to take away your game because your "friends" are a bad influence?

1 AntwortenTo me it is a simple social default. I would rather spend time with people that are closer to my own age. Not that I haven't had good fun raiding with younger (and older) players, but I have MORE fun playing with others who, on the whole, have a similar life experience and set of responsibilities to myself. I'll give you an example, I like to have one or two drinks while I play... I don't get particularly drunk but it is part of my ritual, so to speak. It would be pretty messed up to play a video game with a minor while drinking, would it not?

I'm 14, but I join these groups anyways, if they want to kick me so be it, I only talk if I have to(Totem switches, Warpriest countdown, Gaze countdown, Relic Status), I have never been kicked from these groups either.

1 AntwortenI guess people just don't feel like typing "you can only join if your balls have dropped"

6 AntwortenAsking for 18 or older is a waste of time. I judge people on based on how effective they are at communication and following instructions. If I get someone who screams/bitches at first mistake....they are a child to me...don't matter if they are 19 or 40. Don't need bitch ass whiny idiots on my fireteam. It's just a game after all....patience is what gets you places.

5 Antworten18 year olds are still kids. 30+ is the way to go.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von DroppinLucy: 12/2/2015 8:41:23 PMI have kids my own, i listen to them whine and scream and yell all day long. When i put them in bed and log into destiny to raid the last thing i want is to hear more -blam!-ing little children scream and yell in my ear. So yes all my post to lfg include "NO CHILDREN"
-
Bearbeitet von TechRonin: 12/3/2015 3:32:55 PMI do not want to worry about cracking jokes with a 12 yr old kid listening. I also don't want some kid mouthing off because I would be tempted to ask him if his mom is single and ask if she has large breasts just to shut them up. Since I would prefer not to censor myself I would rather raid with adults.

My clan that I'm now a part of was asking for 18+ in age. So glad too. We get to hold mature conversation and there's never any yelling or arguing. It's not a matter of growing up, it's the fact that not everyone like little kids. I have 2 nephews and I can honestly tell you that I hate little kids. There annoying. But being annoyed by little kids on Xbox is a part of being an adult? No, no it is not.

1 AntwortenStarted a clan. Youngest member is my younger brother who is 17. It is great to not have to play with kids. It's mostly so I don't have to hear the I'm a kid and I think racist, bigoted, and sexist things are funny. Also, I teach kids (which I love) but I don't want to deal with them anymore after I leave work. So I will enjoy playing the game and I still don't have to play with kids.
-
90 percent of the "kids" I have run raids with don't listen insist they know the best way to do x. So I have no intention of running any more activities with minors. I guarantee most of the adults here have run into the same issue, so we'll wait for the rest of you to grow up til them we'll be drunken raiding telling off color jokes.

I'm only 3 1/2 years old! ;)
Wait for it
5 AntwortenIf you squeak is pretty much a kick. If you pretend to have no mic and die a lot you're going to get a kick. If you try to whisper or try to lower your voice and barely talk while in crucial moments you get a kick. It's pretty easy finding out if they are not a squeaker or bad at playing.

3 AntwortenMy son is 10. I've never been in any group that had any issue with him because he's an amazing player and he's not a pompous ass. I told him early on when he started gaming on World at War Zombies that a lot of people would not want to play with kids and he would need to not talk. When we first started playing, he would not talk at all. With Destiny, he did the same thing. Until, I finally told the other guys we played with that he was only 9 at the time. They didn't care. Now, he talks, sometimes he gets a little too talkative but I just say his name and he tones it down. I remind him that no everyone likes playing with kids. However, my 2 favorite people to play with are both in high school. They are extremely mature and they treat my son with respect. Every situation is different, every kid is different. My son has carried 2 people through trials before. They didn't care that he was 10.
-
1 AntwortenIf they are good players but talk way too much, I just mute them. I trust they will do what needs to be done.
-
Hell, even 18 year olds can be snoty brats
I'm 18
-
17 AntwortenIn my experience the majority of kids I have had on my fireteams do one or more of the following..... Talk too much. Get overly excited. Lie about knowing what to do. Die often. Constantly ask if we can go to the Tower. Have to quit to go eat dinner. Have to quit because their mom said so. Argue with siblings while playing. Have random friends join the chat party. Have difficulty fousing on the task at hand.
-
I find it funny that most of the "adults" cannot find a mute button or have enough balls to either tell the kid to shut up/quiet down or kick them
-
No thanks.
-
1 AntwortenSo basically your message here is to grow up and play with kids. Hmmmm.......
-
3 AntwortenMy voice is really deep and I'm 13, so I can deceive them with my man voice.
-
and just have fun with the game
That's why I ask for "18+ NO KIDS"..... I'm not enjoying myself playing with underaged people. On the other hand I don't care if someone is underage and I don't even notice it. Good on you! You act like a grown-up :)

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von TACTCAL TIMMY: 12/3/2015 12:16:00 AMHonestly, I think 20-25 year olds talking about fcuking their girlfriends, taking bong hits or saying how drunk they are during the raid are just as annoying. 35 year old, married, father of 2, btw. Point is, anyone can be annoying. There is no cookie cutter demographic for annoying.
