People asking for only "18+ NO KIDS"
What do you use to figure out that a person is not under 18? Do you have a copy of their birth certificate on hand? It's so stupid, I understand playing with "kids" is annoying. But the first time I beat the raid on hard i was the only one over the age of 18 and didn't complain once. Seriously grow up and just have fun with the game.

When i post on lfg/forums. (Rarely do anymore) It's mature and competent. No matter the age, if you fit that you're allowed.

Lame, immature jokes. that's my pet peeve. you can clearly tell the level of someone's intelligence, let alone age, when immature jokes start flying. Jokes have their time and place, but when I am raiding I don't have all day. I am there for something specific for a specific amount of time. I don't want to sit there and listen to some kid who thinks he's hilarious.

3 AntwortenIt's just a preference really. Sometimes I don't mind playing with kids, but my regular group can get pretty X rated and I don't like censoring myself. There are plenty of other kids on this game, go hang out with them. Let us adults have our preferences, believe me one day you're going to feel the same way.

7 AntwortenIt's a preference just like any other. I prefer not to play with someone I consider a child as I have a sarcastic somewhat-on-the-adult-dirty-side sense of humor that I don't feel comfortable engaging in around kids. I would not call a group of tweens into a pub to join my table/conversation and prefer not to in a game either.

6 AntwortenIf they're being extremely obnoxious/annoying, it's likely they're a kid. If they have a high-pitched voice, it's likely they're a kid.

1 AntwortenI think it would be worse to see a post only wanting under 18. That would be creepy. I am an adult and if given a choice play with people my own age. I assume anyone would make the same choice. It's no disrespect towards anyone. But I'll give any player a chance.

6 AntwortenI don't mind playing basic stuff with the younger gen, but when I'm raiding, the guys I play with like to make jokes that aren't really appropriate for any ears, let alone a minor. We do the right thing and look for adults with mics.

It's probably got nothing to do with how they play, or what they sound like. Personally i don't like to use crude language if say a 14 yr old is in the group. That stifles my personality, because that's who i am. Crude language is part of my lexicon, I'm from the north of England I need to be me, I can only do that with other adults. If however i join a raid group and children are in it, I'll adjust to fit the group. Been led to victory many times in a raid by younger players. Requesting an age for MY OWN group is not unreasonable. Do you always look for stuff to be offended by?

Why the hell should I baby sit someone else's children? My youngest child is 21 and left home. I've done my fathering they should do theirs.

4 AntwortenI prefer grouping with mature players 18+ as I have a tendancy to swear a lot, also I have 2 littleuns myself and my play time is when they're asleep last thing I need is to deal with someone else's kids online after having my squeakers all day.

I prefer to play with old people who understand my jokes.....and I like the people I play with to be older than my own kids. And other reasons....I never say 18+, i say "looking for chill adults" I did have a very very young sounding guy join who was very chatty and exhibited all of the negative traits of a "squeaker". We kicked him and I clarified my lfg post saying "Adult - must have mortgage or pay rent" haha. To me it is not about skill. My boys play destiny and are quite good, but I taught them about negative qualities of talking too much yelling into mic, etc...but, when I am Raiding or doing something that requires lfg, I prefer to play with people who get my 80s/90s references, and can talk about things other than how much school sucks. To me it is about fun, and that is my version of fun.

lol its not an exact science. When i post in recruitment and say no kids, It doesnt matter if someone joins who is a kid, as long as they are able to go 10 seconds without speaking. Its not an actual age thing. I have played in teams with men in their 20s who just wont shut up and are far more annoying than a squeaker. The fact is, kids are the worst for it.

1 AntwortenI think it's a common misconception that younger players are horrible at games, in this case, raids, trials, etc. and that they aren't mature enough to keep a serious atmosphere, as that is what most mature players seem to want. I personally support this due to previous experiences, still believe it is wrong. Many younger players can be very good at the game, and hold a serious tone throughout a raid.

"hey, I only have 97 scout rifle rounds lef..oh my god guys, that centurion almost knocked me off. this run is going to be so OP. there's this kid at my school that told me we could find a chest in the left totem room, we should look. oh my god guys, these shields are never going to go down. hey, what is everyone's favorite primary to use? I really need some heavy amm...holy cow, that guy totally just super dunked the orb. do y'all ever wonder why the poison gas hurts you even though we have on space suits. hehe, that's so dumb. oh my god, that firefly explosion was awesome. does anyone know where moldering shards come from? 20 AntwortenFor some it is a preference. I have nothing against kids myself. I have kids. As do many in my clan. But we chose to be an adult only group. We often drink, swear, and throw around inuendo when we raid. We dont want to have to sensor ourselves. This is our time to relax and have fun after a hard day of work. We prefer to do it our way.
