After a hundred something hours of Fallout 4 got to lvl. 91 and beating the game on very hard difficulty I didn't feel the same drives to playing anymore. I cleared over half the map. Sure I can invest another hundred hours or so exploring everything but I feel no incentive to do so. I spent a lot of time lvlin' up and being totally over leveled and after beating the main story I don't feel like playing anymore. It's a shame really such a good game.
I think this is really a problem I been having with these heavy story driven game. Once you hit climax it is all downhill from there. There many other great game that I have not completed because of this reason. Like Mgs V, DragonAge Inquisition and Witcher 3 for examples. I would spend all my time playing trying to perfect everything and become super OP. It might sound weird but I didn't finish these games because I don't want them to end, basically I'm afraid of beating them lol, because if I don't beat the game the it technically never ended and all my hard works didn't goes to waste.
Edit.
I think destiny really hit that sweet spot for me. After you maxed out everything the game still have things to drive you forward. Even though one would say that the contents is repetitive. So far I have sunk over 3000 hrs hours into Destiny across all my current guardians and the one I have deleted, the most I have in other games was 600 hours (Guild War 2 and PoE). Also I really like the social aspect of Destiny. I have made some great friends while raiding and playing crucible, that's something that never really happened to me in other Online games like Guild War or CS. Overall I have no regrets about spending so much time I Destiny. I know many others feel the same way. It's good that November come around and bring so many good game, we need a break to do different things, but I'm sure we'll be flocking back to Destiny once we done with other games.
Edit 2
After seeing a lot of post here I would like to say that I'm not comparing the two games, they're completely two different type of game. People are saying that I should do everything possible before proceeding forward. Sure you can go back and do everything and it would offer you countless more hours of thing to do. Well it is like having sex, you have foreplay, intercourse and then finally orgasm. There just no endgame contents. Once you blow your load you can try fiddling back in there but then it feel like a chore. Lots of fun to have but once you’re done, it’s time to go to sleep. On the other hand destiny is like a sport. You trains then you play and in the end rains or shines you want to keep going. If you win you want to stay at the top so you keep grinding, if you lose you can quit or you get back in the grind and shoot for the top. I have a very competitive nature so that’s how I think, if you don’t agree with me I can respect that.
See you around fellow Guardians.

People hate on destiny so much, but it's amazing. There's nothing out there like it, it's got problems yes. But I don't even care! I only get to play every once in a while so I still have a ton of content to play through and it's still fresh

I think destiny is unique in its loot game. And once it hooks you, you realize you kinda want that in your game. Since no other game does it as well as destiny, they are not hooking me as much. The only game to completely take my attention away from Destiny since it launched was Bloodborne.

Excellent post. I agree to an extent. Story driven games are great and I definitely understand not wanting it to end i had that with witcher 3. But the ability to continue to play depends on the game itself. Like Fallout's combat, at it's core, is simplistic and repetitive. The animations, vats, shoot, dead, loot, repeat. There are options but they behave the same way. The progression is what keeps you playing leveling up for perks to get new things. Having and endgame that keeps people playing is something developers are striving after right now, a blend of challenge and reward and replayability.(even story games have this think of games where you start a new file and do everything different with another playstyle) Fallout 4 doesn't do this very well and Destiny has frankly mastered this. I will say I could continue playing the witcher 3 for a long time because that game is really complex and satisfying as far as game mechanics. It's also huge so luckily I don't need to start over to keep playing. There is a slight issue with it being SO heavily story driven it's kind of hard to sit through the same story again, but when there's say a new dlc it shines. Again destiny does this well i. The sense that the story is almost a nonefactor. Which sucks in it's own way. It's all very complicated.

Whatever works for you to get a reaction out of people. I'll just be sitting here re-enacting Minecraft in all of my settlements.
-
Careful dude, some people around here don't understand that you can play other games than come back to Destiny... They think you have to play religiously.

3 AntwortenAlmost got 100% completion on Witcher 3, now i'm playing new game plus on death march. I'm loving every second of it. Next up is Phantom pain then fallout 4. But i always take frequent breaks from these massive games so i can get my Destiny fix.

8 AntwortenDude, Fallout is awesome...but I have no idea of how to level up. The enemies give so little xp and everytime I enter some city (like lexington) there are 20 ghouls in just one place..and my pistol is still the very first :/

4 AntwortenZero hours of fallout, bo3, tomb raider, halo, and battlefront and still dont play destiny

Eyyy rager lord lmao.
-
brilliant, compare two different type of games and not even realize it. good job
-
Okay so you're a destiny fan. What's the point? Oh yeah #Destiny lol
-
I'll probably start playing Fo4 again when mods come out for Xbox One. Till then, I'm burned out.
-
You play good games totally wrong. The horror and simplicity that is Destiny is perfect for you....

2 AntwortenSend pics that your level 91 or it didn't happen

I'm at 125 hours, level 47. Still doing Minute Men quests (also did the 1st part of main quest), haven't started the others. I estimate I'm maybe half done right now, still many legendary weapons I want to get. I'll move from 'Very Hard' to 'Survival' difficulty after I hit level 49 so I can level the top perk on my Overseer's Guardian -- one of the coolest weapons in the game IMO.

4 Antworten20hrs in and haven't even completed a single quest other than leaving the vault.

18 Antworten>very hard Uh huh, there is no possible way you are level 91 after 100 hours unless you glitched the game for unlimited caps and you're special books and reloaded all your saves to turn in quests to get idiot savant to proc. Or used console commands. Streamerhouse has been playing since the game released and their highest character had 7 days worth of play time and was only level 65 on survival difficulty. It's fine if you'd rather play a game with as much content as a sports game, it's fine that you went back to it. But don't lie about your levels, cheater.

I feel you. No matter what game I play I always seem to hit the ceiling but some reason I don't with destiny. There is something about this game that doesn't limit me. I always have something I wanna obtain or some gun I wanna try out. There is just always that carrot on a stick for this game. Lol
-
Sounds about right. Most games 100+ hours is kind of insane. MMO type games are special that way.

Bearbeitet von Sixclicks: 12/3/2015 2:36:38 PMFallot 4 is best for hoarders, explorers, and completionists. Plus modders/people who install a bunch of mods. If you aren't one of those, then yeah, your experience is pretty typical. I personally can't wait until the G.E.C.K. comes out so I can install and mess around with all the amazing mods that will be out on Nexus (PC). The existing mods are alright and have certainly improved the game already, but modders will be able to do significantly more once they realease the G.E.C.K. (that's the modding tool btw in case you don't know).

Fallout 4: - Great soundtrack - More skill to aim (I feel) - Actual Sniper sway - Ghouls (come on! They scare me so much, it's amazing!) - Power Armor (f*** up everything) - Pickpocketing - Picklocking - Fatman/Big boy/MIRV - Plasma Rifles - Epic Bases

Nice. To bad most of the responses are people who take playing a game you like as sacrilege.

7 Antworten27 minutes of fallout, stuck in an infinite loop of getting killed by a death law, "threw game across room" no intent of ever playing it again xDxD

I was burned out for like a day then went right back to play it the next day

I rather have a game with an ending, and actual story, grinding gets boring specially when you know one side of the same has to grind more than the other (really why don't they fix the pve rewards).
