So i commented in this post recently [url]https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/176297164/0/0/1[/url] and i received an overwhelming amount of replies. I'd like to get this out to more people than just those on that one post, so here is my argument for the sunbreaker.
The sunbreaker is a 100% super-focused class, meaning that the 6 bonus perks in every subclass meant to enhance gameplay are ALL super-focused. the hammers take skill to use at long range due to the arc and travel speed of the hammers. they are not always a one hit kill, many times, it will only partially damage an enemy if the hammer is a little off. everyone's data on time varies, and people tend to use the most extreme case for the hammer of sol lasting longer than it typically does. it can only achieve such a high time of being active if the player uses the perk where standing in a sunspot will increase duration AND the perk to increase duration. This means not using the cauterize perk to regen after kills with the hammers. people have discovered NUMEROUS ways to counter the super, making it not the tank that people seem to try to make it.
Let's talk about other supers, since that has been a large argument. stormtrance, while activeley being used as a hammer of sol would be, lasts the LONGEST out of every super. Bladedancers have been over-nerfed (thanks to the same people whining about sunbreaker), however, they have the "super op" perk that sunbreakers do to regen health AND a perk to grant more super energy on kills. radiance is primarily used for self-rez and has no real offensive bonus in pvp, so we can leave that out. golden gun, you get 3-4 shots, which is less than your 7 hammers if you are constantly throwing them, but golden gun is 100% accurate, is not impacted by range, and has perks to not only enhance the super, but gameplay while NOT USING THE SUPER. the sunbreaker has ZERO perks to enhance out of super gameplay, unlike EVERY other class in the game. The nightstalker (for pvp) is pretty much an enhanced golden gun, so you can go back to golden gun for that argument. Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc are not duration-based supers, so we can leave those out entirely. Ward of Dawn is not an offensive super, so that too can be left out. This covers EVERY other super in the game
Just keep in mind that the entire subclass is focused on the super, so there is not gameplay value outside of that such as shadestep, shouldercharge, increase grenade duration hunter wall-hacks, or chain lightning on grenade damage. The subclass SHOULD have a more powerful super than any other class, because the nature of the subclass is 100% for the super.
arc blade was over-nerfed thanks to people whining about it in year one, the same will happen to Titans' only good subclass for pvp if this continues...
Addition:
Please take into account the other parts of the subclass. Every subclass a set of 6 perks to enhance gameplay. All of these are for the super in the sunbreaker class. I've said this before, but it is many times glossed over.

8 AntwortenBuff the perk tree then... I don't care. Give them firebolt grenades... I don't care. The fact that you can make the whole team run away is not cool. Controlling the whole map is not fair. A decent team of 3 titans can literally win/save 3 rounds in trials just with supers... that is OP. Forget about your perk tree... combustion grenades are super good... health regen on melee, super, grenade kills is super good... Do you want to go invisible and self resurrect too!? The truth is that the only classes that have strong perk trees have crappy supers (bladedancers, sunsingers, etc). You cannot have both dude. Quit defending your crutch my man.

As a person who plays every class to max out all subclasses I can tell you that HoS lasts long without the Sunspot duration perk. I've gone to playing on Sunbreaker to Gunslinger and have seen the difference in Super duration. Year 1 I honestly thought GG lasted an okay amount of time. Year 2 it seems like GG is over way quicker than normal

A level 4 dreg can survive the splash damage from my hammer, but a 318 light player claims its impossible to avoid? I shouldnt have more respect for a dreg than an endgame level player

9 AntwortenPeople also forget that HoS is shut down fairly quickly when the team works together and focus fires on that Titan people are just as that they can't snipe him with one head shot. Heath regen stops immediately after taking more damage too. People will complain about anything.

These people who are bitching are jokes. You must absolutely suck dick at this game if you run from a hammer. When i hear one i either, shadowshot, nova bomb, golden gun, stormtrance, or fist of havoc. And if you have some skill you and your team can snipe or shotgun them.

2 Antworteni understand, they just do everything better than everything else, they dominate close range, my blade dance keeps getting one hitter by them when it takes me two hits. they dominate mid-range, miss a hammer? YOU HAVE 6 MORE. Long range, you can't one shot headshot them, if you have lined up to snipe you better be ready to trade, but no! If the hammer hits you before you get the follow-up shot on, it doesn't mater, he gets all his health back. There is no real counter to it aside from a select few supers, it is just too powerful.

18 AntwortenYou fail to realize that an enhanced super is far better than lousy passive perks. Passive perks don't affect you very much, but the HoS is just crazy good. I do hope bungie won't nerf it so much that it sucks, but if they make a minor change it will probably still be the best super in crucible. Also why do sunbreakers need passive perks when they have incendiary and fusion grenades. Those are crazy good.

4 AntwortenI really can't believe people are still protecting this obvious OP shit. Half of us with a brain don't want it nerfed to the ground, we just wanna take away some armor or recovery speed to balance the fact YOU ARE A WALKING NOVA BOMB MACHINE WITH SUNSINGER STRENGTH ARMOR AND YOU'RE MOBILE. Also the melee and grenades have saved me plenty, stop trying to use that as a cover for you not being good at placing or throwing your nade.

2 AntwortenSir, by this post I'm assuming you're a sunbreaker. If you happened to play iron banner (which I'm sure you fkn did) you would have noticed that sunbreaker titans won or lost the game(fairly frequently). If the game was close, one would hear a loud ass ding and pray to Jesus that that douchebag was on your team because then you'd probably win. Or if you're unfortunate enough to get zero titans on your team your screwed. All I'm getting at really is that the supers are not balanced amongst themselves. Each super should kill each super in on shot or nova bomb or arrow or arc blade or even a hammer to hammer. The people without supers have to put in a little more work to down those with supers which makes sense. But all supers should be matched across the board. Also, I just hate titans in general, I played as one to get the achievements necessary and immediately deleted the fkn thing. Hunters for life.

I'm sick of all the Titans bitching saying "HoS is the only good pvp subclass" DEFENDER AND STRIKER ARE BOTH AMAZING PVP SUBCLASSES SO DONT TRY PULLING THAT BULLSHIT! And don't compare sunbreakers cauterized to arcblades hungering blade, although they are almost the same perk, cauterized can activate on made and melee kills, and the super is ranged, making it superior to how arc blade was

11 AntwortenWard of dawn and radiance can be super offensive. Radiance can eat rockets. And WoD would be a offense /defense in PvP. Mainly offense based on how you use it.
