I hate when people pronounce "nuclear" as "nukular." There are some varied pronunciations of words due to regional differences or other problems that I respect, but there is no excuse for mispronouncing "nuclear." Its spelling is very clear and there is no reason why someone should say it any other way. I don't get easily annoyed, but I just can't stand this mistake.

You could say the same about a lot of words. Like washer, which many old people say "warsher" seriously, where the hell did you get the 'r'?

True, though I think that has more to do with a person's accent and place of birth. It is still somewhat irritating, just like "bolth" and "awmond" ("both" and "almond"). I just have always considered "nukular" to be the most blatant and pointless offense.

A lot of those pronunciations are just southern slang lol

Yeah a lot of locals say everything differently. I guess this great melting-pot is getting to the English language.
