As most of us are aware in December the Kings Fall Challenge modes are going to start up. The way it seems one of the bosses each week will have this challenge mode and we have to beat it a certain way then it rotates boss fights week to week.
Now let's just say for example they choose Golgoroth for the first week. So they informed us there will be a certain way to beat this boss fight and it is up to us to figure out. Now obviously we wouldn't know until we took Golgoroth down. So what if we tried an idea and it wasn't correct? Would we have to go through the whole raid again just to try to beat the Golgoroth challenge mode? This could get old pretty fast I hope they took that idea into consideration.
EDIT:
Some people are having a hard time understanding what this post is about so I'm going to try and clear it up. First here is what they said about the challenge mode right from the weekly update:
"You’ll see which boss when you select the Raid in the Director. It will display next to a skull, just like one of our Nightfall modifiers. They work on both normal and hard mode, and offer rewards to match.
Each boss’s challenge requires that you defeat them in a very specific manner. How, exactly? We’re going to leave that up to you to discover (but apologies in advance to those that run the single-pool strat for Golgoroth)."
Now it says when we select the raid whether it will be normal or hard mode a modifier will pop up similar to nightfall menu screen and will state which boss has a challenge activated for that week. So one boss per week will have a challenge activated where if done correctly will give challenge specific rewards. We don't know how to do these yet they only hinted at Golgoroth not being able to do the one orb strat as I'm sure most people do.
All I was simply saying was if we beat the boss for that week that was the challenge mode and didn't do it right would we have to go back and do the whole raid up until that fight again? We would know if we did it right because they confirmed the last 3 calcified fragments will come from these fights.
I'm not being negative and I'm not complaining. Believe me there is enough of that on these forums. I really do enjoy this game and this is more of being constructive and trying to help. This could be something that turns alot of people off. Not alot of people want to jump back and forth between characters or maybe do the whole raid again. All it would take is an option to do the fight again when that boss is the challenge for that week and problem solved.
Like I said there is enough negativity on these forums and it is possible to be critical without being negative. Bungie needs posts that critique them it's how they grow and become better as a company.
EDIT 2:
Okay after talking with some rational people I think we have come to a conclusion we can all get behind. Once challenge modes are activated and you reach the boss that has the modifier for the week there should be some sort of artifact or sacred hive stone in the boss arena you can activate which will then activate the challenge mode. Once activated the only way to advance and beat the boss is the way the challenge intended.
FOR EXAMPLE, we know at Golgoroth the one bubble strategy will not work as stated in the weekly update. So if we activate this challenge mode in the boss arena and do the fight with a one orb strategy and take him down it should instantly wipe us because that's not how the challenege mode was intended.
This way we don't have to get checkpoints on separate characters and people with only one characters don't have to go back and do the whole raid again because they didn't beat it the right way. Also people who dont want to do the challenge mode dont have to. Everyone wins.

3 AntwortenWow the amount of stupid in this thread is astounding! OP has a good point here. There should be some way to "choose" challenge and if you do you cannot proceed beyond that particular boss unless you complete the challenge. However if you do not want to participate in this challenge mode you don't have to and can dead the boss anyway you see fit and proceed through the raid just as we all do now. The fact is we don't much about this challenge mode bullshit but with Bungies track record as of late it isn't crazy to think that they will -blam!- this challenge thing up some how. Either by forcing everyone to do the challenge or by letting a team proceed even though they did not complete the challenge and therefore have to go back through everything prior to that weeks challenge boss...or worse not getting the challenge rewards because you just killed the challenge boss in the wrong manner.

3 AntwortenAn incoming game mode that you're making assumptions about has caused you to write a post as long as "War and Peace". Let's give it a play and find out what's up before making walls of text.
-
3 AntwortenLet's wait until we know what the rewards are (beyond the emblems in the kiosk) before making assumptions. It's likely more garbage rewards that won't be worth coming back for until otherwise identified.
-
How do we make this harder- Bungie Oh yeah.. How about adding more health so they can't do one pool only? Great! A new challenge! Probably one if the challenges. More health.

This is the wall Trump wants to build at the border. Notice it's massive size and shape

2 AntwortenI don't think the rewards are worth the challenge. Primary weapons without burns and no Gjallarhorn to chase after, not worth it, sorry.
-
2 AntwortenI'm pretty sure that the way it's gonna work, is that you literally won't be able to beat the boss without doing the requirements from the challenge...
-
1 AntwortenPotential issue with the forums People do not know how to make good posts. They do not know what they are talking about. They just assume about things after reading 3 sentences about something thats not even out yet! They need to wait til the actual thing comes out and see how things play out before making BS posts!

3 AntwortenDisagree! If say golgy is the challenge boss then the ONLY way to beat him will be by using Bungies prescribed method. All other attempts trying to figure out this method will result in defeat. Once the correct strategy/challenge way is found it will be the same strategy/challenge every week it is that particular boss.
-
3 AntwortenHaving the option to choose to do or not do the challenge would be a great option.
-
Simple solution, backup the cp on a different character until you figure it out.

If I had to guess the challenge mode for golgoroth will either decrease the time. Meaning you will run out of time constantly resetting with the one orb. Or the orbs will only pop once or twice, so you will have to rotate the orb you use or you will run out of time. With the right amount of dps you could do it in one run. Also you bring up an interesting point. To be honest I haven't done much research about the challenge mode, but I thought when reading it, you would just spawn in at whatever boss it was that week. Previously beating the kings fall raid would be a requirement for this obviously, so people who haven't beat the warpreist couldn't warp to golgoroth. But who knows, it's all speculation. And they like it that way. Fuel the fire!

4 Antworten>A girl I knew in class was a total attention whore. >Never arrived to class on time amd always made sure to make a huge fuss about it. >Didn't talk to her all that much, but I had a few conversations with her. >Her wrists had cuts and burns all over them. She wore t-shirts so she never hid them. >I asked her why she would hurt herself like that. >She said "No one lives me and my life is painful" etc., etc. >"No one loves you? What about your parents or your boyfriend?" >Answer she gave me was something like "They actually don't love me," or some shit like that. >Made a point to not interact with her too much after that, because she's too much of an attention whore. >End of the school year, she came up to me and asked if I wanted to go somewhere with her that Sunday. >I'm not good with these situations, so I couldn't say no, even though I didn't like her. >Sunday came, and we went to one of those tower car parks. >Just as we got to the top, she told me that she wanted me to be here as a witness for her suicide. >"Oh shit," I thought. She was going to jump and was forcing me to watch! >Had I known that she was going to do this, I wouldn't have gone with her. >"Not watching unless you do a flip." I said that to try and shock her into realizing this was stupid. >Complete shock was written all over her face. She thought I'd try and stop her. >"E-eh? You're not going to stop me?" >"No, go on ahead. If you really wanted to live, you'd stop yourself." >After a while, she got off the ledge. She walked up to me afterwards and tried to hug me with tears in her eyes, but I told her I loved someone else. She asked me who, and I told her to read the first letter of every line.

11 AntwortenIt it doesnt let you return to said point, I feel like you should all be smart raiders and pick up CHECKPOINTS on alts.....
-
1 AntwortenHave you overlooked the obvious? If you select challenge mode and run across the boss, you won't be able to beat him conventionally. It will take a certain strategy in order to defeat him and once defeated he drops loot...
-
8 AntwortenCould switch alts to grab the CP before starting. Assuming all 6 members have 3, that is plenty of bites at the cherry
-
2 AntwortenPretty sure that unless you just have to try and do it exactly at reset.....or for some reason you feel the need to do it blind. I would bet that within 30 minutes of the challenge being active, you could come here and find out whatever details you would need.
-
3 AntwortenBearbeitet von jay p: 11/26/2015 7:22:35 PMInteresting point. I'm not raiding, but I could see how this could be a huge issue. Hopefully you can "select" challenge mode somehow and that would be the only way to beat the challenge-mode boss. Or after you clear the raid, you could jump right to the challenge mode boss rather than clear to it again.
-
My guess is that the actual CHALLENGE will be the only way to clear the boss. So you won't be able to clear the boss by using the same mechanics and strategy that we're used to. The Challenge Mode will set the mechanics/strategy for whatever boss is active for the week and defeating the boss can only be done in that manner.
-
1 AntwortenOP confirmed he wants "easy" mode not "challenge" mode
-
if you read the update again he basically says it's going to be Golgoroth and you have to do all orbs (he stated in parentheses sorry to those who do the one orb run)
-
4 AntwortenYou select the boss fight and go straight to the boss. You don't have to do the parts in between.
-
3 AntwortenI am pretty sure it throws you straight at whatever challenge it is.
-
It will tell you. Bungie is just saying they are not unveiling the different challenges until we all update and go in.
-
5 Antwortenwell, at the end of the day, is'nt a "challenge" mode SUPPOSED to be challenging? part of the challenge is discovery. just like how part of the raid challenge is getting a team together.
-
It's saying that your strategy WILL NOT work kinda like Crota with being enraged... The mechanics make the normal strategy need a tweak
