I've always avoided non objective game types. Cheap tactics are the main reason. Objectives force movement. Iron Banner has always been an event to look forward to. How about a little experiment next time around a "vote" of sorts. Give the option to play Control or Clash in an Iron Banner Playlist and see which one is played more. Maybe I'm wrong or the people I play Destiny with are just a small splinter group that dislike team death match kill for the sake of killing games but this time around its just not as fun.

I'm loving Clash. The only issue I have is I'm not matching gains other full fireteams.
-
I love mayhem too would be more motivated to play it
-
"Objectives force movement." I agree completely.

The killing aspect doesn't change for objectives except like zone control. Otherwise kills still matter so people will do whatever cheap simplistic stuff then can to win. The issue with some objective game types is how hard they can be cheesed to totally change the meta. Example - Rift. 1 team does not capture the rift, they camp the rift, wait for the other team to grab and shut down immediately so there are more points to them on shutdown than you on holding it for like 2 seconds. How annoying would it be to play a game type like rift or salvage (same tactic happens) with a bunch of defensive play such that it's just a clash match anyway if both teams are running the same strat? Control you can't cheese so much, so control wouldn't be bad, Zone Control would be great however.

Tdm is better since most people dont even play the objective anyways.

No, TDM is way better!!

I will reference cod here but a voting system in orbit for the next map and game type would be great. Just like they do in the lobbies for cod

Might have agreed at the start of this IB but I enjoyed Clash in the end. Took a couple hours a night to level Warlock and then just 3-4 hours each to do Titan and Hunter yesterday. Clash plays faster and is fine if you're not playing in a Fireteam, for me anyways. A rotation or vote system for 2 or 3 modes would be great, but then would people quit/not join games more if it's not what they want to play? At least now it's this or nothing so people do it. Would it add even more time between games, it feels like I could play a match between matches with load times.

I hate pvp and avoid it like the plague. I've only played this iron banner because people have been getting some good drops from the packages. I much prefer it being clash though, it's felt like far less of a grind and even fun at times.
-
I'm ok with it alternating. Thought I would hate Clash but it was decent for a change this time.
-
I think not. Clash works because players are more focused on getting to rank 5, that means they could care less about winning the majority of their games! Disagree? think about it. U could reach rank 5 just doing to bounties. Yes it would take all week but u could. I do it because I don't have inf playing time. Clash allows teams to actually win games by just doing bounties as kills are what determine wins. I would say out of all the games I played this IB I think I lost maybe 5-7 games out of a possible 30 total games.

I agree if I wanted to deal with ten year olds camping with aim assisted snipers I would play COD but I wanna play a team CTB with ranked goodness but nope let's make Iron BANNER (the name even implies control) into a campfest because why not. How about in stead of messing with iron banner Bungie makes a new monthly PVP week long challenge that comes before or after the Iron Banner.

I think IB should randomly involve all the game types, even mayhem, salvage and 3v3 ? It would really mix it up never knowing what your next game type might be . . . just a thought :)
-
I thought it was a huge improvement mainly playing with randoms over control where half your team treated it like clash anyways.
-
Agree. Or maybe IB should be a unique 6v6 salvage mode.
-
I agree. It's more difficult to make a come back in clash. Also in clash people tend to hold up in choke points or camp certain areas.

Bearbeitet von Eiffiks: 11/23/2015 1:33:24 PMAs long as it's not an inferno mode, or rumble, I think it's fine and makes for a fun change. but control would give me better results. One thing though: Clash advantages a lot full pre-formed fireteams compared to control. In control, you can 'guess' where your teammate outside your fireteam are going to be, and so can they, because of the zones to seize/defend. For clash, key is to hold together a strategic part of the map (preferably close to a heavy ammo spawn) and move together all the time. That is much easier to organise if in a pre-formed fireteam.

Next IB should be inferno, mayhem, rumble!

Bearbeitet von Marcelis_Wallace: 11/23/2015 1:29:30 PMI agree. Though I seem to win more games with Clash, it's nothing more than ridiculous camp-fests.

1 AntwortenI've enjoyed clash IB, which is saying something since I normally avoid IB like the plague.
-
Anything but control, its so boring now
