I've always avoided non objective game types. Cheap tactics are the main reason. Objectives force movement. Iron Banner has always been an event to look forward to. How about a little experiment next time around a "vote" of sorts. Give the option to play Control or Clash in an Iron Banner Playlist and see which one is played more. Maybe I'm wrong or the people I play Destiny with are just a small splinter group that dislike team death match kill for the sake of killing games but this time around its just not as fun.

Move it to a new match type called rush... Because I just want to rush through IB, get my rewards and get the hell out of there... 5 minute games. Highest scoring team wins.
-
they should rotate the modes rift, control, clash, zone control, mayhem clash. fun times
-
Make it Rift!
-
I liked clash more because it was focused on how people did individually more as you had to get kills for points
-
Control does not force movement lol. Cap A and B and spawn trap C, that's about it.
-
This was the first IB I actually enjoyed, a refreshing change of pace was provided with Clash.

1 AntwortenNever saw any cheap tactics the entire week I played. The only thing that pissed me off and happened only once was a kill within a second of spawning. Looked like the player was standing there waiting. Overall this IB was one of the best.

Control games take forEVER! It's just a boring process of killing people mindlessly for 15 minutes. In clash we do that in about half the time. Either way, still killing people mindlessly.
-
1 AntwortenAre you insane? This was the best Iron Banner yet!
-
I've always avoided non objective game types.
The objective in Clash is to exterminate the other team.

I much prefer clash as the game type. I have no mic and have everyone muted, and I found the best strategy is follow/go to 2-3 other teammates and sweep through the map. Stay together, watch the radar, and watch what your team is aiming. Stick with your strongest super too. Sunsinger with double grenades for me. My twitch reaction with the shotgun is bad, but I can stick fusion grenades. IB was great fun for me. Quick matches, some lopsided, some tight. 50/50 in wins and losses, and i had some great matches and some BAD matches. Got some good rewards too. I dug it. Most fun I've had in Destiny with PvP.

I like control, it's my favorite game type; BUT I enjoyed IB this week, it really showed how terrible some players are, when they can't get points from objectives.
-
After a week of testing, I rescind my initial agreement. As in any random matchmaking with little communications, there will be challenges. But I found myself being so much more relaxed because of the LACK of objectives this past week. I actually had a little fun over the weekend. The loot drops weren't as worthless, the packages were a WONDERFUL idea, the objectives weren't frustrating... Overall - I say it is a HUGE step in a the right direction.

I really don't believe objectives promote advancement. Good teams just control a or c and b. Then spawn kill the third zone
-
Control is not really and objective game mode.. it is just clash with bonus point modifiers. zone control is more objective based then regular control. rift is more objective based, salvage... What your real problem is you suck if you cannot just cap and camp...
-
Disagree. I have one person on my friends list, and nobody uses game chat. At least in clash I can worry about myself. In control people are unorganized and focus on objective too much.
-
Yes agreed
-
I prefer control too but probably the best solution is to have a rotating playlist of control, clash (and rift?). Similar to the classic 6v6 mode where it changes every match. Keeps it fresh and you don't get bored.

I vote control. This Ib has mostly been a sniping Camper fest. Control stops a lot of it and having the objective to capture makes it more interesting for me, rather than everyone just randomly running around shooting. Yes you will always get some people that do that in control anyway but for me it's a bit more tactical and therefore more interesting.
-
3 AntwortenNah, I like running around and killing people aimlessly without worrying about objectives. No one camps at zones and points are only earned through team's skill at killing.
-
Clash is better for people who are not in fire teams 24/7
-
I like it on clash. Control on IB sucks, unless you're playing with a fireteam. When with randoms, most don't play the objective. Leave the IB on clash please!
-
I love control the most but I did notice that this iron banner had a lot less 6 people fire teams. Most of my games were very close instead of blowouts that you see every other game in control.
-
I'm loving Clash. The only issue I have is I'm not matching gains other full fireteams.
