No knight strat is for scrubs!
I hate that people can do this, I'm tired of scrubs being able to beat raids because of exploits. I hope this won't be a viable option if/when a harder version comes out!

Once again, I must say that most of you do not know what exploit means. The no knight strat is an exploit because its taking advantage of a flaw in the game where you kill less enemies than in the normal mode. A "cheese" is what I think most of you are talking about where you break the game to beat it, like pulling Ethernet cord for crota.

I've tried it both ways. I find it easier just to kill everything as it spawns, much easier to do if everyone is 310+

This is in no way an exploit its a smart strategy bungie didn't think of. Both ways of running oryx are valid and both are easy with a coordinated fire team.

Funny thing is I dont remember any backlash or upset with prople skipping a part of the final encounter during Hard Crota. (Dont kill both boomers, thus not spawning a wizard,whi ch I am sure Bungie didnt envisage us doing)

20 AntwortenNo Knights is a strategy for sub 310 dps groups. It involves a lot more randomness because the fight was not intended to be beaten that way. If your group is a consensus above 310, then you are really doing yourself a disservice getting clears that way.

Only thing most people don't realize is that the no Knight strategy (aka leave ogres running around shooting the relic runner strategy) can be a pain for the runner. I know, I usually do the running. Most of the time I get down and can weave my way around enemies and Snatch the aura before anything bad happens, but once in a while those ogres are determined to get the kill. Ill be jumping platforms and they blast me the entire time, up to the moment I get the aura. But most people call it an easy strategy because most people do the easy thing in raids. Sit on a platform, be told when to detonate, etc. Killing everything is easy when you don't suck. But since most people do, the no Knight strategy with a really good, competent, never gonna screw up despite being blasted by ogres the whole time runner carries the load.

I do whatever strat most people want. We did knight strat everytime some 1 Forgets their knight or we only get 2-3 orbs. So after 10 fails i said Lets do no knight strat and BAM done it in 2 tries.

2 AntwortenMost of the people who do not, at the very least, know both methods, have not and will not clear new content the week it drops. Relying on cheeses or workarounds (to avoid mechanics) truly shows your raid aptitude. A true raider will likely handle all the mechanics (i.e. Killing the Knights and ogres) and a truly hardcore raid team will also not let their teams complete raids without handling all the mechanics. It's that simple. If you are okay with being casual, then that's fine, more power to you. Some people have limited time to play. Completely understandable. However, it's false to believe the No knight strategy will save you time and it certainly won't make you a better raider. I don't care which method you use. I personally use whatever method the group can clear the quickest with. Although I try to encourage using the full mechanics (killing the ogres and knights).

Done both strategies each is a means to an end. I prefer the Knights strategy more teamwork but less chaos. My job is same regardless since I'm always running relic so I leave it to the teams personal preference. Can understand why LFG groups use it thou.

The 3 guys on the platform have 1 job to do: get on the platforms in order without dying The extra dps up top only needs to hit the ogres. Compared to that the Knights strat requires everyone to actually understand the mechanics of the fight and adapt to different roles at different times while managing agro from multiple sources and being solely responsible for killing assigned targets in a narrow time window Knights is easier as skilled and knowledgeable players manually remove failure points in the run. Less chance for 1 thing to go wrong and -blam!- up the run. No knights is simpler for new players but any one thing going wrong causes a wipe

Please post a link of Bungie stating exactly how the Oryx encounter should be done. This will prove or disprove your "theory" once and for all.

1 AntwortenIt's not an exploit tho it's a strategy when you don't want to deal with scrubs who can't handle knights. I completed the normal strat the first time but now I just do the no knight strat Cuz I just wanna get the thing done. Call me a scrub but I've done it the normal way and no knight is a fail proof, well thought out strategy.
