Am I the only one who's super disappointed in this upcoming Iron Banner going Clash over Control?
I've played nearly every Iron Banner event and have actually enjoyed myself. I am very much a PvE-er over PvP, and really only play PvP around Iron Banner time. I only could really stomach Iron Banner in the first place because I enjoyed the cooperation you needed (and sometimes don't have) to have in Control. A major part of the reason I liked Iron Banner was because it was easier to stomach for a PvE-er, but clash is just... painful to play in my opinion. I really have enjoyed Iron Banner and getting thrown into matches with people I've never played with before, working well as a team, waving, dancing, and goofing off, and getting some new friends out of it.
But with clash.. it's just going to be totally unpleasant (for me). There's none of the cooperative aspects that I liked about Iron Banner anymore and I'm really disappointed that I won't be able to have that with other players. A major part of what makes Destiny appealing to me is the cooperative part of it, which is why I've mainly stuck with PvE. I seriously doubt I will participate in Iron Banner this time around with it going Clash simply because I will not enjoy playing without the aspect that even made me want to try in the first place. I am honestly and truly disappointed in this change. I guess with all the new games coming out this time of year, it's Bungie's solution to a drop in player numbers due to all the new releases. But honestly, if the major part of what makes the game fun for me (cooperation and shared goals with other players) is gone, I seriously don't see the point in continuing playing Destiny at all.
Maybe I'm in that boat alone, but whatever. At least maybe give us the option of Clash or Control?

I'm undecided, on one hand I remember being incredibly frustrated that people weren't capturing points and losing games because team mates literally walk past them, on the other I enjoy it when u get a good team who play the objective - hold 2 points and fight defensively from them to get the kills. I have been playing clash and I do quite enjoy it but whether I enjoy it more than control..... I'm not sure. Guess I'll wait and see

1 AntwortenIm a fan of both clash and control but at least this way you dont need to rely on noobs on your team who dont understand how control works.. its just get more kills them the other team whens its clash. Nothing more annoying then noobs thinking that you need to capture all 3 zones to win the game... its not -blam!-ing domination its CONTROL.. control the game with 2 of 3 bases then just kill... Noobs dont get this though.. they say "my K/D might suck but im someone who likes to capture bases".. ye well you're a -blam!-ing idiot haha

Idgaf, I'll be more disappointed if it's still shit 280 gear. In which case, fcuk that, idk if I'm even going to bother
-
Any type of TDM/Clash/TeamSlayer makes me cry.
-
I always play as a 4-6 player team so yeah I'll miss it. I like the pvp with additional objectives other than just killing other players. We will still try it though.

3 AntwortenI wanted a Mayhem Iron Banner
-
Clash is fun
-
Clash is good, do you know how many time I had suffer a lost because four other players just running around like John Rambo?
-
It's the same without CP same game mode

1 AntwortenBecause 90% of the teams never play it cooperatively. They honestly believe a higher K/D without the use of bases is better than a lower K/D with more bases. Take a look back to the first Iron Banner of year 2; the forum posts after forum posts of people saying: "CAP THE BASES", "Do you even know how to play control" & "If you don't know how to play control, don't play Iron Banner". Control is not a reflection of skill - as in - you can be capturing bases and getting a good amount of kills. But if your team is more interested in playing it like a clash game, then it's all for nothing as bases are lost and kills get very little points. So talented individuals are at the mercy of matchmaking wherein if you're put on a bad team, you lose.

I like control because it brings everyone to a center point. You dont really have to worry about being shot from behind unless your rushing or your team flipped the spawn. And in control it's a constant fight over point B. You could be killing them but still lose if you let them cap B. You watch next IB fireteams of 6 are just going to camp out in the back and wait for to rush. Where as in control that would be a horrible strategy
-
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Clash. It seems like it's either everybody running laps around the map or snipers dueling across the map. I'll still play it though.
-
I'm with you. I don't PvP on the regular, and Iron Banner being control was the only thing that appealed to me. Now that it's going clash, I have less of a reason to PvP since all I do is pad other people's K/D anyways.
-
You can't tell anyone here that Iron Banner hasn't always been Clash...
-
3 AntwortenWhy? 90% of IB players played Control like Clash anyways.
-
-Solo players will benefit from clash and it wont be as painful to run solo if you have a few bad players on your team. -Spawns will make less of a difference because there is no objective to camp and hold -fast games -clash is my game mode :p People have been asking for iron banner to be something other than control since vanilla destiny, its actually cool that it has switched(or it is a test for bungie to gather data...). As long as drops are good and its worth playing ill be going with the flow, it makes no difference to me.

4 AntwortenI wouldn't mind adding Clash, but I hate them taking away control...
-
Yeah You are the only one disappointed The idiot team mates just go for kills and dont cap points anyways so it's not like it matters
-
I can't say I'm happy about it because it's still going to work the same way. Mind you though, it will probably feel good to play Iron Banner without half your team trying to cap all 3 points and then losing
-
Its almost the same thing, you just dont have to cap points, it will make it easier and a lot more fair for everyone, theres always those who dont cap and just run around gunning, this way you dont lose a game if theres not enough people trying to cap zones, everyone can run around shooting. Its still two teams versus each other.
-
What does it matter people still gonna camp hard as -blam!- and either way it's gonna be only about kills which is why people play control for the kills anyway

Its always been clash... They just want to change the gametype so that its fitting
-
I don't mind it actually... nice change of pace.
-
7 AntwortenThey should make it rotate between like 2-3 playlists... It's such a long grind, if you play three subclasses, it would be nice to mix it up... Imo...
-
Personally I'm not upset about the change, but if they want to throw clash in then I see it as a nice addition. Next I want the crucible sandbox team to make it Clash/Zone Control/Control.
