I can't understand this; fellow players well run around all day with a sniper rifle and and shotgun. But will barely use their primary. Okay cool. But when it comes to special weapons. My dearest people won't ever pick up a fusion rifle or a side arm...
Here's my issue with that.
A. A fusion rifle gives you close to mid range one squeeze kill. But it's all about the timing. But let me guess. You'd rather squeeze and immediately get the kill. Hm. Right.
B. If you're all about your primary. Your sidearm can save your ASS. Like let's say you're creaming enemy team and you run out of ammo. And dudes health barely moved. What are you gonna do. Hope you can get the melee. Or whip out a trusty sidearm and melt him?
Answer seems pretty logical. There's so many different ways to play yet everyone I've encountered does the same thing. Run. Blam shotgun. Reload.
I mean. What do you guys think?
Edit: Check out my most recent post. It involves the community so it'd be good to have some of you guys on that as well. Also if you're on XBOX ONE. My GT is Nomad XXIV ;; Shoot me a friend request! Ill be getting a PS4 soon so no worries my lovelies lol
Edit: 2 | Machine Gun, Rocket Launcher or a Sword? Why?
Edit 3: Fastest Charge Fusion rifle? I'm running Midhas from the raid and it gets the job done. But stil need another. Preferably Solar.

Went flawless with my side arm yesterday.its in my main loadout for crucible

Got my first thorn with a blue fusion rifle... they used to be amazing

I adored fusion rifles prepatch (2.0 I think? Idk the fusion rifle patch) still even have some of my godly fusion rifles in the vault awaiting the day they are useable again. They are still ok, but personally I have found there hit detection has gone out the window, even point blank usually only 3 bullets register (no I am not missing, I used to be quite good with them). They are just not really viable anymore when they kill in 2 bursts from about the same range as sidearms do. The ammo expense for using them plus the charge rate of a high impact one, as the low impact ones are unuseable anymore, makes them worthless against shotguns and sidearms. I have seen a few people still use them effectively, but I have no idea how, because I can't get any of them to work for me anymore. Rip the only way to counter blink shotguns :(

Shotguns one shot from only slightly less range, snipers one shot from any range.
-
Actually side arms aren't mine thing I am only a normal player I just use a shotgun because I like it in the past the fusion rifle
I AM SORRY OKE I AM NOT PERFECT GOSH
Sword until I have one swing left then I switch to the Sleeper and have full ammo.

6 AntwortenBecause they're both enormously inferior.

2 AntwortenI only used fusion rifles until the great fusion rifle nerf of 2015. They are very inconsistent and highly dependent on the quality of you and the other team's connection to the game. Stand still and shoot a wall and look at the cone hits. Do it again and see how different the pattern is. Now imagine that your enemies don't stand still like a wall. I'll try side arms again if I get one that I like. Haven't used one since the queen died.

Because snipers are superior to everything in this game. Get good enough with it and it's a OHK at any distance.

1 AntwortenI rule with sidearms. Besides the occasional sniper, my Havoc Pigeon is my go-to specail.

Bearbeitet von Zackman71492: 11/9/2015 7:34:00 AMIf they put fusion rifles back to year one i would use them. Except you loose to a shotgun because of charge and loose to a sniper because of range every time. Fusion need a buff to both range and charge and shouldn't have a spread it should always be one shot if aimed correctly. Fusions should be like a direct lazer since you need to time that charge perfectly to be effective . And they are the only special weapon that requires lead on moving targets unlike a sniper which doesn't make sense. Finally they didn't take along plan c or pocket infinity to year 2 and telesto is a sad excuse of an alternative. Why no one uses sidearms idk iv seen a few people who destroy with sidearms definitely under utilized.

1 AntwortenUsually run a side arm with a scout rifle. People underestimate their power but it has saved me countless times especially when Using a slow reloading hand cannon. Fusion are great. Thesian FR4 has 0 recoil with a recoil perk and kill from mid range. Fusions are really strong at just outside normal shotgun range. How to use: Both are really rewarding to play styles if you use them right. Fusions: swap to a quick charging one to get easy kills on rushing players. High range fusions can easily overtake auto rifles and hand cannons if you anticipate the attack. Side arms: meant to finish off enemies quickly and accurately. All are pretty much the same. Hurt enemy with primary but he ran? -sidearm. Out of ammo and need to get the kill? -sidearm. These gun are powerful and fun in the right hands as long as you know how and when to use them. Suggested weapons: Thesian FR4 - armsday Omolon Plan C - exotic, year 1 Telesto- exotic Split shifter pro - crucible drop Iron wreath- iron banner Havoc pigeon - crucible vendor

I use a sidearm and I've clutched a lot with it.
-
I guess it's all just personal preference. I normally use shotgun or sidearm, but I'll use either depending on what playlist and/or map we play on. Bad Juju + Havoc Pigeon equals one man army. I run that with Defender on Rumble.
-
I still use my FWC fusion in crucible, it is great for *just beyond shotgun range but too close for hand cannon* I'm not a fan of how the projectiles cease when you die.
-
Point 1) I am guessing that most people don't understand that a Sidearm uses the same type of ammo as their Primary Weapons do expecaly Pulse Rifles. and 2) that using a Sidearm will let you get to Melee range with more health. as for Edit2: i prefer HMG's over the RL or Sword as while it looks like each round from the HMG is smaller in damage they are acting like the Damage stacks per HMG burst so your target dies faster with less wasted ammo. as for the Sword I don't have one yet so no opinion yet.
-
Damage falloff for sidearms starts too soon to make them viable. I was excited when I rolled one with rangefinder and hand-loaded, however I was quickly disappointed. They can preform fine but it's only at a range just beyond shotgun ohk.

2 AntwortenVex with LDR is the way to go.
-
Machine gun or sword, doesn't always happen, but you can get more kills than with rockets
-
Don't sleep on the gouda
-
stopped using the fusion rifle cause of lack of ammo.. it was all I used in vanilla up through the first few weeks of trials before I took a break (16k+ kills). I came back and they didn't feel the same, moved on to red death and messenger.
-
A popular setup for me in pubs is: Bad Juju/Reflection Sum (Adept), The Frenzy, Objection IV OR Monte Carlo, Conviction II, The Vertigo. Machine Gun in pubs for the ability tobget 10+ kills if you're good with it, Rockets in Trials as its one round and instant death is more important, Swords if you're a masochist.

2 AntwortenThe best weapon in the game: pocket infinity:

I feel like sidearms take way too long to draw to be used effectively as a follow-up weapon. Perhaps it's weapon stow time though, and not draw time.
-
People do not use side arms and fusion rifles because they are not as reliable as the other two weapons. They both have bullet/coil travel time making them inconsistent. You do no have to account for that with the other two special weapons.
