The reward system in the raid.
I know the hm raid is only out for 3 weeks (loot drops anyways) and the drops are a complete horrorshow to put it mildly.
While we all did 7 to 9 completions (on 3 characters) with rewards together we have a huge light level difference. While I am 317 now the rest is around 313ish. Most of my team are at the breaking point now for this. Not seeying anything usefull drop when we do the raid on all 3 characters is truly a misprogrammed rng system.
Lets analyse it for a bit:
General:
why drop items that are lower light than you currently have?
- seriously who thought this was a good idea? Different perks? Oke but drop that at a higher light level...thank you.
Moldering shards
- who needs them for a extra roll? Improve your rng instead of this crap.
Hardmode
Why drop normal mode items?
- again why would I need those and who thought this is what players would want or need? When I am ready for hm I dont need normal stuff anymore.
If the idea is to keep players playing...come up with some better system.
Here are a few ideas (I came up with in only a few minutes)
Moldering shards
- let players use it to infuse their raid gear (say 10 shards for 2 or 3 light on a single piece of gear)
- let them trade it in for the piece of gear that isn't dropping for them. (100 shards for a helmet for example)
Drops
- let these be of use. Instead of giving a player a 320 gun straight away let them get a 310-315 first. After that make it drop from the last lightlevel to 5 upwards.
- remove lower light items from the loot table for that player.
As I stated above. Our clan played Destiny alot and we have a large group of players who pretty much do the raid multiple times (even when we got our rewards) every week to help eachother and randoms out on hm completions.
But I honestly tell you that this lootdrop system is destroying this game now. Its not the fact that some players are way higher in light compared to others. Its the fact that they complete the raid every week and most of the time don't get anything for it at all.
Yes its rng and yes people play it for fun....but how long will this remain fun......

WOW 1500 replies in only 2 days!!! It looks like a lot of people are feeling the same way about this. The vast majority shares my opinion in this regard.
Some do not agree and some don't seem to understand why this system is worse than VoG and why. I included an example were I explain how this rng works without making it to complicated.
This is why I think this rng is badly designed:
This rng is designed to NOT give you the things you need and let me explain to you why.
These numbers are not official but I want to illustrate my point here and I am not factoring in different perks for simplicity here.
Example:
Boss 1 can drop the following items:
Sniper 300-310
Machine gun 300-310
Rocketlauncher 300-310
167 slots of moldering shards without a weapon roll
This loot table has an outcome of 200 posible rolls (33 of which have a weapon and shards)
3 x 11 for the weapons and 167 shards to create an even 200 rolls
You are level 299 when you start the raid. Basicly 33 out of the 200 rolls are usefull to you right? Every weapon is higher than what you have and thus "usefull". the chance of you getting an usefull item are 16.5 % to be precise
Lets say for argument sake after 3 raids you got the sniper, machine gun and rocket launcher all at 305. Every weapon has 11 posible roll right 300 to 310 that's 11. But you are 305 with those weapons. So 300-305 are not any (immediate) use to you. What is left for every weapon is 306-310. That's 5 usefull rolls per weapon.
With 3 weapons this makes 3 x 5 is 15 rolls that are usefull to you.
15 out of the 200 posible outcomes are benificial to you. That about 8%.
So the higher you get the smaller the chances are for you getting actually what you need.
The old VoG was really simple in this regard. You simple got something or not. The odds were the same for everyone in the team.

I've played destiny for best part of a year and they owe me nothing. I've paid the money for the game and dlcs and in return they have given me a game that I've spent hundreds of hours playing. There has been frustrating times where I haven't got a certain weapon or armor or fantastic times like being sword bearer for crota for the first time. But at some point we are all going to move on and play different games, they know it and you should too. You move onto the next game and you can't take your raid weapons with you to gta, fallout or cod. So I put it to you, enjoy the game whilst you and all your friends are playing it cos it will stop at some point and this negative attitude of reward for beating a boss needs to stop.

Yeah, I had 26 moldering shards and I only got a 304 chest piece from Oryx. Doesn't make sense

I haven't even bothered this week. No primary or special weapon drops over 310 from hard mode, and no helmet from normal or hard. Should have know it the first hard mode raid I did where I got no drop from the totems or the warpriest.

Does max light really matter that much? At around 310 you should be able to complete oryx.

I will love Inferno trials. we need more of this most people will not get flawless so called the best players will struggle to get a flawless. it was surely pull out who's the strongest in the crucible and in PvP most people that play inferno are great players anyway. but not too many players can play without a radar and call himself still the best it's like taking someone that says they their best in the crucible and taking their radar away from them and seeing how they can play you be surprised how bad they really are. and how some average players would dominate the crucible without a radar. In this mode they should make a hard mode for trials and should give 315 or higher Tiret rewards for these high level players that still love playing trials after getting flawless. it should unlock the mode when you go to the lighthouse giving the higher tier players something to do after they've been coming flawless in trials

Beside my backlog has increased thanks to Destiny and when backwards compatibly comes out next week on Xbox One I'll have more games added to my backlog to play. Hate to say it but I don't trust Bungie anymore year 2 seemed great at first but I burned out on it way faster than I did in year one.

Edit: My friends already only play like 2 or 1 a week if lucky 3 or 4 for like a hour just because the loot they get.

3 AntwortenI've completed Hard mode each week it's been out. My Hunter is yet to receive a HM helmet, gloves or boots at all, I'd happily take a 312 one for example at this point. In fact he's only received one chest piece and that dropped at 320 thankfully. I'm not here crying all over the forums about it though. It's RNG. And RNG can suck for some and be great for others. I finished a Raid yesterday with someone who started as 312 and finished as a 315. I raid because I love raiding, good gear is a bonus. I don't feel entitled to it.

Yep it's awful. Carrying people should not amount to them getting anything. Especially 320 gear when every week I get something worse. But who cares in the next dlc all this work will be for nothing anyways

1 Antworteni play solo i havent time to play raid but have same problem my max is heroic strike list and i play 20 heroic strike in row and 98% items lover light than my.(20 hc strike 1 leg engram) i have 295 light and in HC strike drops blue engrams and items with 255-289 light 99% 1% have 290+ and last week drop me in HC strike green items for lvl 36-38 OMG what is it?:( after 3 weeks and 100+++ hc strikes i see only one item with 300 light. i have many quets but in zone play nobody i doing patrols and wait hours nobody inc and solo cant kill champions or antiq. rune summon. in dreadnout i see only beacon from cabal and argo rune where i can loot others ?? omg 8-10hours in game and cant have best item solo. cant complet all quest solo,in HC strike drops craps and greens and exotic items with 280 is crazy this game is death FALLOUT 4 WAIT

1 AntwortenMan.. and when you do get the armor at a decent light lvl its bloody int/strength or disp/strength with freakkin side arm reload or auto rifle ammo. I mean, does this mean im gonna have to get 30 different peices of each armor to drop before i get some i wanna keep. (And just hope that they're high light lvl?) And why the hell did we go from "heavy" boots to launcher or machine gun boots. Did boots really need a nerf?? I didnt think so

5 AntwortenThe raid gear should be like it was in VoG and CE. It drops at a specific light. Period. 310 for Regular mode, and 320 for HM. Boom, done.

Lost half of my team after our first HM completion. Soon as we discovered the primaries didn't have a burn, they quit and haven't come back, other two are leaving on the 10th, Over a yr of playing together and having a blast is now over... This needs to be fixed
