The reward system in the raid.
I know the hm raid is only out for 3 weeks (loot drops anyways) and the drops are a complete horrorshow to put it mildly.
While we all did 7 to 9 completions (on 3 characters) with rewards together we have a huge light level difference. While I am 317 now the rest is around 313ish. Most of my team are at the breaking point now for this. Not seeying anything usefull drop when we do the raid on all 3 characters is truly a misprogrammed rng system.
Lets analyse it for a bit:
General:
why drop items that are lower light than you currently have?
- seriously who thought this was a good idea? Different perks? Oke but drop that at a higher light level...thank you.
Moldering shards
- who needs them for a extra roll? Improve your rng instead of this crap.
Hardmode
Why drop normal mode items?
- again why would I need those and who thought this is what players would want or need? When I am ready for hm I dont need normal stuff anymore.
If the idea is to keep players playing...come up with some better system.
Here are a few ideas (I came up with in only a few minutes)
Moldering shards
- let players use it to infuse their raid gear (say 10 shards for 2 or 3 light on a single piece of gear)
- let them trade it in for the piece of gear that isn't dropping for them. (100 shards for a helmet for example)
Drops
- let these be of use. Instead of giving a player a 320 gun straight away let them get a 310-315 first. After that make it drop from the last lightlevel to 5 upwards.
- remove lower light items from the loot table for that player.
As I stated above. Our clan played Destiny alot and we have a large group of players who pretty much do the raid multiple times (even when we got our rewards) every week to help eachother and randoms out on hm completions.
But I honestly tell you that this lootdrop system is destroying this game now. Its not the fact that some players are way higher in light compared to others. Its the fact that they complete the raid every week and most of the time don't get anything for it at all.
Yes its rng and yes people play it for fun....but how long will this remain fun......
EDIT
WOW 1500 replies in only 2 days!!! It looks like a lot of people are feeling the same way about this. The vast majority shares my opinion in this regard.
Some do not agree and some don't seem to understand why this system is worse than VoG and why. I included an example were I explain how this rng works without making it to complicated.
This is why I think this rng is badly designed:
This rng is designed to NOT give you the things you need and let me explain to you why.
These numbers are not official but I want to illustrate my point here and I am not factoring in different perks for simplicity here.
Example:
Boss 1 can drop the following items:
Sniper 300-310
Machine gun 300-310
Rocketlauncher 300-310
167 slots of moldering shards without a weapon roll
This loot table has an outcome of 200 posible rolls (33 of which have a weapon and shards)
3 x 11 for the weapons and 167 shards to create an even 200 rolls
You are level 299 when you start the raid. Basicly 33 out of the 200 rolls are usefull to you right? Every weapon is higher than what you have and thus "usefull". the chance of you getting an usefull item are 16.5 % to be precise
Lets say for argument sake after 3 raids you got the sniper, machine gun and rocket launcher all at 305. Every weapon has 11 posible roll right 300 to 310 that's 11. But you are 305 with those weapons. So 300-305 are not any (immediate) use to you. What is left for every weapon is 306-310. That's 5 usefull rolls per weapon.
With 3 weapons this makes 3 x 5 is 15 rolls that are usefull to you.
15 out of the 200 posible outcomes are benificial to you. That about 8%.
So the higher you get the smaller the chances are for you getting actually what you need.
The old VoG was really simple in this regard. You simple got something or not. The odds were the same for everyone in the team.
Hope this clears things up a bit.
And thx for this amazing feedback guys!!!!

Fallout 4 nxt week. Time to move on
-
Yea its pretty sad when you can play a slot machine and know what you are possibly going to get, but in raid its constant letdown. If destiny was a casino they would be out of business by now.
-
I play desist a lot. To much tbh. So when F4 comes out, I'm taking a well deserved break. You should as well. Come back fresh.

3 AntwortenHm this week on one character. One thing dropped at 311. I'm done.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von SebaManiacPL: 11/5/2015 9:08:01 AMmy opinion. everyone says they like the game but this is only an illusion. you do not like it, you only fell you have to play it, again and again with hope you will get better gear. Bungie understand only this and they exploit this way of thinking for a long time. I think everyone deserves full 320 light level armor and weapons after HM completion and 310 after normal. I liked Crota raid because I have complete character after 2-3 raids and I do next 15 raids beacause i liked it, not some people from Bungie force me to repeat and repeat this mindless, long and boring raid. yesterday with a real pain in the ass I did raid again. I was 307 and I got 300 chest :). And that is over for me. -blam!-ing patrol is more fun than this.

Just waiting for Cozmo to show up.

I honestly have to agree with you on the drops. I have completed the NM about 12 times on 3 characters and have almost always gotten the bottom of the light bucket on the few drops ive gotten...majority is shards. I completed the HM twice so far this week and had completed it up to oryx the week before. Getting only a 310 chest price the first week. This week I finally was blessed with a heavy over 300 and a max light ghost, albeit it was the rocket launcher, but I was happy to finally see a decent drop. After that I received a NM helmet, rocket launcher, Chelchis, and a HM boots. All lower than my current gear. A harrowed defiance of Yasmin at 310 of course and a harrowed shotgun at 319 which was great infusion fuel for my spindle. I feel like i am stuck in the gjally RNG pool once again... Now my issue with this is what you already stated. While my peers are receiving great drops and I am not, their light level is advancing while mine is crawling. This isn't a problem with my friends cause they're cool and know I can carry my own, but I am definitely running into issues trying to LFG. I can't even blame them, if they get a request from a 315 and I'm only 310, it's a no brainier who they'll pick. I should be happy when I complete the hardest end game activities, but I find myself upset at the loot when I see my friends getting these great drops. (This week, he received a 310 hawk moon, 310 sky burners annex, HM raid helmet, a 320 harrowed defiance of Yasmin, 315 boots and a 314 RL. Now this I know was great luck, but..come on! ;) ) I guess my point is that the RNG needs to be smarter. They said they fixed it, but they didn't. My 8 310 invective's and raid drops disagree.

5 AntwortenIf all your here for is the raid then your not hard core
-
I'm leaving soon too. As soon as fallout gets here in gone from this crappy loot system.
-
1 AntwortenOryx shoud only drop primary weapons and helmet . I can't get a HM primary and I have completed HM about 7 times. Oryx should never drop ghost shell, class items and any other armour piece that you can get from other bosses. I did the HM yesteday on my warlock and got 3 bonds.

4 Antworteni think the hardest activity should always drop max light gear, its not like you can instant infuse other guns/armor to 320, so that's not a worry. Bungie said they wanted to fix "forever 29" i just don't understand this solution? Take 1 loot drop chance and divide it into 3 RnG polls of it actually being any good 1- getting the gear to drop 2- getting a good roll 3- getting 320 light done hard every week, and my 3 chars are 315, 312, 311, "less not forget the 17 antiquated rune drops" 7 clan members have quit the game, my friend list has gotten a bigger nerf than handcannons the black versions of normal raid weapons was disappointing, they made hundred of white and blue weapons and got lazy with the raid guns.....really
-
I didn't read it all but I'm just going to assume you want an improvement in the loot drops in kings fall hard mode. And I agree. But I don't think people should quit over it lol.
-
Most of my group are 310-315 and HATE the drops.

1 AntwortenThe hard mode raid drops the exact same guns and perks as the normal raid but there black and higher light level? Ha ha ha if you told me this back when I was grinding the VOG for my HM fatebringer or VexMethlo I would have rolled on the floor laughing. But here we find ourselves. Very sad Bungie.
-
I think the main reason ppl are leaving is there is no reason to be max lvl. 311+ and your set for all endgame content
-
1 AntwortenThat means there not hardcore destiny players stupid #y2scrub
-
Bungie stated that they didn't want anyone left out due to not having the best gear. But yet they make the loot system in the raid horrendous, which leads to you being left out of the raid activities because of light level. My highest character is a 309 and I know how to do EVERTHING in HM raid, but I'm still left out due to light level.
-
The biggest problem is that the rewards at Oryx are often worse than those that come before him.
-
I don't think this raid us fun at all. My friends don't laugh like we did constantly in CE.
-
Honestly that is why I have no drive to play the raid or the game tbh I don't complain about it I usually just make jokes and poke fun at it bc we all know we're getting a shards lol no but honestly I just feel like the progression stagnated and I just don't care enough to do the HM raid over and over to reach max rank.
-
Bearbeitet von Artorias: 11/5/2015 1:38:47 PMI've done up to Oryx twice on hard mode and killer him once, I literally got jack shit from both runs. Nothing both times on the gate and the warpriest, 311 chest piece from Golgoroth twice (already had a 310), nothing from Deathsingers twice and then a -blam!-ing cloak from Oryx. Waste of time. The old raid drops were better. Didn't need to worry about the level of it back then...
-
Bearbeitet von Willa: 11/5/2015 1:32:33 PMThey say they want to lessen grind but then they make the rng even worse compared to the other 2 raids. In previous raids, you hoped you would get the item you wanted and that would be the end of it. Now, you hope you get that item and that it is a higher def/attk than what you currently have equipped. RNG within RNG. And as OP stated, normal mode items do not drop in hard mode now. Rather than an extra hard mode item dropping (if you didn't complete normal mode that week) which further decreases your chances of getting the item you want to just advance one stupid light level.
-
1 AntwortenSorry bud, haven't even tried hard yet, on normal I still haven't had a helmet drop on any of my three characters and am at tops 307 light..... Do I care, no. Just play the game, it's not a competition and when you've got everything, what then?

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von staylor552: 11/5/2015 10:05:05 AMDo you remember when we played games for fun instead of imaginary rewards?? I've played destiny for best part of a year and they owe me nothing. I've paid the money for the game and dlcs and in return they have given me a game that I've spent hundreds of hours playing. There has been frustrating times where I haven't got a certain weapon or armor or fantastic times like being sword bearer for crota for the first time. But at some point we are all going to move on and play different games, they know it and you should too. You move onto the next game and you can't take your raid weapons with you to gta, fallout or cod. So I put it to you, enjoy the game whilst you and all your friends are playing it cos it will stop at some point and this negative attitude of reward for beating a boss needs to stop.
