There will be no free DLC. Microtransactions and DLCs will be the new thing. No new strategies announced. Source: Gamespot article will link it soon

Edit: Many people saying that it doesn't specifically say that the paid DLCs will come back. Well let my friend Coyote X Starrk put it more obviously on his response
Destiny's microtransactions and paid expansions are both selling well, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said on an earnings call today, November 3. As such, Destiny players can expect to see more of both in the future.
Thx to Coyote X Starrk for clarifying this

1 AntwortenI think they can and do coexist ( however not in destiny) also I like how they felt the need to say "Activision says''
-
These guys are worse than EA. At least i know what I'm getting with EA. Plus, all they have are some lousy money/progression packs. So...
-
2 Antworten40 bucks for what we had with ttk? Another 20 to get the exotic bonds, the ones we can't even infuse? No more, time to play other games and move on until destiny 2 arrives (if it does any day)
-
Bungie really needs to give back to the community. I know a business requires them to make content and for us to buy it in order for them to keep making content. But they have charged us alot for DLC so far. If they make the 40$ TTK obsolete with a 20$ DLC then they will have made a bad move on their part. Im not saying to release a whole DLCS worth of content for free,i just thnk year two should focus on JUST microtransactions that do not affect a players game or progress in any way and give us free things here and there like a strike,or guns e.t.c
-
Dude, when the microtransactions were first announced, DeeJ even said it would be for the live time. Know what the live team does? Not -blam!-en DLC. How is the live team connected to DLC? They do events, like the festival of the lost. All the micro transactions funds go towards are more shit like that.
-
Would love to see a link to someone at Bungie saying that future DLCs would be free. But it doesn't exist. Because no one at Bungie said that. Ever.
-
2 AntwortenDestiny guys said they would have micro transactions to boost free dlcs and have pay for ones less often
-
1 AntwortenBungie never stated such a claim as "free DLC"! (please don't link a god damn Kotaku article.)
-
No free DLC was confined the moment Bungie partnered with Activision. Anyone who thought microtransactions would lead to free DLC was an idiot.
-
1 AntwortenI'd pay silver to redesign my guardians face and add a beard, bungie pls
-
1 AntwortenThis doesn't say that DLC isn't DLC. It only said that DLC is still DLC. Nowhere in there does it say that free DLC isn't free. Am I doing this right? I just wanted to be like the other guys posting in here.
-
Bearbeitet von Sernik: 11/4/2015 9:26:44 PMI don't mind paying for dlc or an emote for giggles, if it means I am spending less money on other games, which so far has been the case. I've saved so much cash since Destiny came out. I tend to now buy AAA games at discount and not on launch day which was the norm for me for years
-
12 AntwortenThey don't say they won't be any free DLC, they only say there will be more paid DLC. Big difference. Since when do company's do things for free?
-
This was revealed in the weekly update about microtransactions for anyone who could read above a third grade level....
-
U must also believe that planes didnt hit the twin towers even though people standing there watched it....... or that obamacare works, or if u dont have a gun a criminal will walk away. Why do i have a reason to beleive u or "ur friend" what approves u as a trustable source.
-
This doesn't confirm there will be no free DLC, it only implies that there will not be free DLC.
-
Nowhere did I see a confirmation.
-
4 AntwortenWell guess i aint coming back. This franchise is now a cash grab. Thanks activision, you planned to ruin bungie and destiny from the get go.
-
60 dollars up front for a years worth of Dlc
-
That part you underlined includes the yearly massive DLCs like TTK....so kinda ruins your argument. How bout we wait and see if in December we will pay for a new smaller dlc or if the microtrans purchase covers that, reduces it etc. swear to gawd you people would scream fire at a drive in theater during a snow storm. As Aaron Rogers told Packer Nation, "R E L A X...."
-
I never read anywhere that bungie said the dlc would be "free".
-
I'm pretty sure some YouTubers had a hand in this. I remember Datto saying "micro transactions can support free DLC" and a few others. But let's be real here its Bugievision they are not giving free DLC not in a million years. People should start taking their info with a grain of salt. These guys are damage control nothing more than simple mouthpieces. This game is their livelihood they need it to succeed.

1 AntwortenWho was dumb enough to think they would offer free DLC? They said 'free content', and you just got some with the Festival of the Lost. Praise the Eververse!!!
-
Activision are the Nestle of gaming.

Well, you only need to pay me and my clan with donations of weapon parts, silver, planetary mats, glimmer, etc. We will be setting out for the Americas this coming Tuesday with aims to return the following Tuesday with new quests and treasure maps of the Old New World. Thank the Speaker and Amanda Holliday for tasking us with such an endeavor.
