30FPS vs 60FPS, Wow, what a difference
So going back and forth between Halo 5 and Destiny you can definitely tell the difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS. It's almost painful to look at Destiny. It takes about 30 minutes before my eyes adjust to the 30 FPS. Everything is extremely choppy. Almost as if time is standing still.
Destiny 2 needs to be in 60 FPS.
EDIT: THIS IS NOT A HALO 5 VS DESTINY THREAD. They are both great in their own regards. I am strictly talking about framerate

I jumped back into destiny last night and it took me 5 skirmish matches before I could adjust to it. Hurt my head lol

The graphics look / feel choppy. That and the gameplay feels so joyless / grindy. I think my Destiny addiction has finally been broken. It's a shame, because I really enjoyed the game. (People keep saying you can't tell a difference between 30/60fps but there does seem to be a difference between H5 and Destiny ... whether its related to frame rate or not. I called BS at first but not anymore)

10 AntwortenI really don't care. For me it goes Is it smooth? Yes. Good. Is it 30 fps? Yes. Ok Is it 60 fps. No. Oh well The amount of people that whine about a game not being 60 fps is embarrassing. Can you play it? Yes. Shut up about it.

60 fps is never necessary, you can only tell when going down not going up so if everything stayed at 30 it would save systems a lot of work and space

I actually play better going from a 60fps game to destiny even if it wasnt a first person shooter. The motion just seems quicker so when going to destiny, my reflexes seem to be tuned up quicker than if i played destiny the whole time to warm up.

I don't agree that 30fps is choppy, that would imply a more inconsistent frame rate to me. I'd rather have a fixed refresh over higher peak numbers. I know everybody perceives it differently, a bit like rainbows on a DLP, or being able to see the flicker of LED lights. For me consistency is king for frame rates, I agree that destiny 2 should be locked to 60. In the UK, in the 16-bit days, we could play domestic versions, at 50, or imports at 60! It was noticeably different.

7 Antwortennot everybody is smart enough about their monitor/tv purchase to know or be able to notice a difference, let alone not everybody is willing to drop 500-1k on a MONITOR thats less than 40" or willing to do research on whats best set up for console/pc gaming

11 AntwortenThe human eye is said to see natural motion at 24fps that's why all movies are shot in 24fps. It doesn't really make much of a difference to me whether or not my games are 60fps. Once your eyes are use to it it's the same exact gameplay and experience.

I know exactly what you mean. Whenever I play a 60fps game destiny feels choppy when I come back to it. It takes awhile to readjust.

I agree, but 60fps in multiplayer and to have the graphics to back it on current hardware isn't achieve able in consoles

Really? I thought Halo 5 looked choppy as hell. I kept pointing parts out to my buddy that looked horrendous! Maybe it's just how the game downloaded..

12 AntwortenFPS games look and play like shit on 60 FPS. Halo 3 on MCC was garbage compared to the original. 60 FPS doesn't fit shooter games.

3 AntwortenWhen I go between Destiny and CoD, I never notice a difference. The only difference I notice is that CoD drops frames like crazy every other game. Destiny just seems really consistent with its frame rate. That might be due to it being only 30 instead of 60? I honestly don't understand how all this stuff works so don't get mad if I say some thing incorrect.
