wow this is cash-grabby as hell, lol
hey, let's take seasonal holiday content, which most games just use as an excuse to pull wacky in-game shenanigans and have fun, aaand?
lock the requirements to potentially participate behind paywalls, and even then, leave it up to RNG to see if you get the mask you need to do the dumb quests.
oh.
ohhh.
and hey, you happen to like those cosmetic items? better hope you get some of that RNG paper glue so you can keep it. but hey, you get until Halloween (i assume) to snag your parent's credit card, or save up your lunch money or what the -blam!- ever, to buy the RNG packages you want. woops, better make sure it's at least $5.00 though, because that's the least you can spend on silver, making those smaller packages kind of pointless unless you plan on dropping $10.00 or more on these and overpriced emot-
didn't we just spend $40.00 on the last DLC?
OH.
OHHHH.

I have no regrets spending 700 silver on the Thriller dance.

I can't believe it. A corporation finding ways to make money? That's unheard of.. I agree. It's dumb. I won't spend money on it.
-
glad you agree
-
Who cares? It's all cosmetics so it doesn't bother me. If ppl wanna buy it then let them go ahead. They can fund the future dlcs for us.
-
it's the principle of the thing. personally, i don't think this kind of business model should be encouraged, so i'm voicing my opinion. also, i don't immediately take strangers at their word, least of all strangers who intend to profit from me.
-
Bearbeitet von YoSoyJackBauer1: 10/26/2015 6:29:32 PMYeah i understand what you're saying. They're not doing this to give us more "content" or for us to have fun. They're doing this to make money. That is the one and only reason for them doing this. They're a business first above all. What they are selling to us is appealing I admit but really has no affect on the game. It's like someone trying to sell you a set or rims for your car. They are very appealing but have no impact on your car what so ever. It's all cosmetics and it is not important nor necessary. If you have money to spare then sure you can buy them, if you don't feel like wasting money then don't. It's not important. It's all eye candy, and it seems that you're tempted by it.
-
again, you're free to feel that way, and i'll respect that. but i think that principles are extremely important, in every context, and that they're practiced and scrutinized and refined for the benefit of all that use them. if i'm able to start what could loosely pass for a "conversation" here, in a public forum where this particular example is relevant, i think it's important to at least try. but i appreciate the level-headed response! although if we can't progress beyond it being a difference in personal perspective, i'd propose that we simply leave it at that.
-
Principle? http://youtu.be/ooPYiLtz1wM Sorry I had to. Lol, but what do you expect from a business? Everything that they do, all their decisions that they make are based on how much money they're gonna make. That is their principle, to make money off of us. Yeah it's evil and they are money grabbers, I guess why I'm okay with it is because I'm kinda not surprised by this at all. I sorta expected this type of stuff from them :/
-
man, i need to rewatch that. been forever. but i understand why you'd feel that way. :s i know "business ethics" just looks like an oxymoron, and with as much stuff as some of them get away with, it's not very far from the truth. but, then, that's also why it's important to try and treat it seriously, right? so anyone's issues, no matter how legitimate others consider them, can be judged equally? i really don't mean to come off as preachy here, but i really do feel strongly about things like this, and it's like... we can't complain about not having something we never tried for, right? Or something like that?
-
You don't like business models geared towards making money? I can't think of a time when the "give everyone everything for free forever" model worked. Enlighten me
-
I know when itwas wait nevermind it never happened
-
this wasn't very good bait, but i'll humor you. you shouldn't have to jump through hoops in lieu of making a direct purchase for something you want, or be forced to buy a size higher than something you actually want to buy, especially when the value of the content in question is already incredibly suspect. that's what i'm complaining about.
-
Absolutely you should. You want a shortcut? Pay for it. You want those extra emotes? Pay for them. You don't want to pay money? Cool, grind it out and earn it.
-
thus a difference in a opinion, and a foundation for debate. glad we could sort this out.
-
You can get the required masks without spending money......

We like it

I suppose people have their opinions about it, you think it's a cash grab and some people don't. That's just how it is

Errr... me XD

Stop being so cynical. I want to dance like MJ!
