Hi I was a big destiny player when it initially released, and was playing hardcore up until the first expansion but since then I haven't played at all. My question is since the release of the taken King what are the biggest changes I need know about? The important changes, the ones that make a difference?
Is it worth me coming back?

I did the same thing and I've enjoyed the new content. The base game seemed to lack an identity for me. It wasn't really am rpg. It wasn't really story-driven. It wasn't really anything but a grind-fest for people willing to put 1000 hours into it. But the new storylines are good even if i thought the social area in the reef was pretty poorly done. And i don't know if it's just me but it seems like i get a lot more drops than i used to. I had a lot of fun starting fresh and playing through the whole thing again. And now I'm starting to dig into the strikes and crucible. Whatever problems have got the community $hitting bricks i haven't hit them yet. But i can tell you that for a casual player that just wants to play a good game and not act like every nerf or glitch is the end of the world it is worth giving it a second look.

Bearbeitet von superking70: 10/16/2015 1:44:11 AMDon't come back. The leveling/Xp systems are all messed up now. I think Bungie realizes that they don't have much content to release this year so they are trying to slow player progression as much as they can. Leveling weapons has never taken so long.(Six completed daily bounties don't even unlock two perks on a legendary weapon) Xp was supposed to be buffed due to removing it from nightfall/weekly heroics but I see no sign of it. Unless you can invest many hours of gameplay EVERY day you'll be running in quicksand.

The thing about destiny is that it's always changing, but everything stays the same

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von Patient3591: 10/15/2015 11:46:04 PMHey, welcome back! I'm in a similar boat. Stuff you need to know: - New subclasses! Each class now has one subclass of each damage type. - Level cap raised to 40. Light from gear no longer raises your level, but instead is an average rating of your gear's armor and damage rating. Mission recommendations are based on Light rather than level. Don't worry though, you'll be automatically leveled up to what ever was the maximum light level your old gear would have brought you to. - Class items matter now. They have armor ratings (and therefore contribute to your Light rating) and have Strength, Intellect, and Discipline bonuses, as well as perks you unlock with experiences. - Ghost Shells can be found as loot drops, and also have armor ratings, perks, and stat boosts. - New equipment type called Relics, which also have armor, perks, and stat boosts. - If you missed House of Wolves, you may not be aware of a new Special weapon type: Sidearms. Semi-automatic pistols that go in the secondary weapon slot, very high rate of fire, decent size magazine (around 15 seems to be the average) and stability medium to low range, but very low impact. Opinions vary on how good they are, personally I find their high RoF great for ripping through shields and they can save you when you get an opponent down to low health and have to reload, just switch to your sidearm and empty it on them. - New Heavy weapon type, swords. Think Sword of Crota, but with ammo. - The gear grind is starting all over again. Your old purples and yellows are going to be useful in the beginning missions of the Taken King story, but you'll quickly find most of it outclassed by new greens and blues. Select Exotic items from year 1 can be upgraded to year 2 standards, for a hefty cost in Legendary Marks. Speaking of which, - Crucible Marks and Vanguard Marks have been combined into a single resource, Legendary Marks. You can earn all your Marks each week off just PvE or just PvP if you like. - The Gunsmith has a purpose now. On Wednesdays he sells field test items, which you can buy and score kills with in a particular manner (like "kill X hive" or "get X precision kills") to earn Gunsmith reputation. You get packages from increasing Gunsmith Rank, which can include cool stuff. At rank 5 he gives you a quest for a new Exotic hand cannon. - Most exotics can be earned through quests now, you don't have to rely solely on RNG. - There's a cash shop now. Currently the only thing you can buy is different emotes, but there's been a big brouhaha lately about micro transactions and slippery slopes. Don't let the chicken littles scare you, it's probably going to be fine. - Various buffs, nerfs, and balance fixes you probably missed. I'm still trying to figure them out myself, but hand cannons have noticeably shorter range and worse accuracy, shotguns don't have the Shot Package perk any more, Auto Rifles are a bit stronger and more stable, Recovery is a bit faster at the low end and a bit slower at the high end. Some other adjustments to specific subclass abilities. I'm probably missing a few things, and some of it I'm still figuring out myself, but I hope that helps get you back into the swing of things. Let me know if you have any more specific questions.

As an advid destiny player I can tell you not much has changed. It's still a super grind fest. Except now there's like 50 different things you can grind.. But each to their own.
